PO Dana Cook was sitting at the desk in Sickbay finalizing the list of crewmen physical workups to send to the Doctor for her final approval. She had released the new Nurses to go to lunch but had told them to report back here afterwards for a staff meeting with the Doctor. There she planned to reveal the daily work schedule to them and what was expected of them when on the job and when off.

Crewman Reynolds had elected to finish up the last piece of equipment, a Dermal Regenerator that seemed to be a tad out of calibration, before she took lunch. It was Cook and Reynolds in the Sickbay when the call came in.

=/=Petty Officer Toporov to Sickbay! Doctor Moore, we have a medical emergency in main engineering - Commander Thorson is having some sort of seizure!=/=

Dana jumped to her feet and hit her comm badge, "This is PO Cook on the way. Dr Moore ... Crewman Reynolds and myself are in route."

Crewman Reynolds had stopped what she was doing and listened and then surprising PO Cook by springing into action and grabbing the Medical Kit from it's station and headed towards the door.

Dana paused at the door and nodded approvingly as she had thought she would have to tell the Crewman what do. She only had to pause for a couple seconds before Reynolds hurried after her as she trotted out the door towards the turbolift.

"MEDICAL EMERGENCY!" Dana yelled at a few crew that were in the hallway, "CLEAR THE WAY" People moved over to let the two pass and enter the turbolift.

"Main Engineering!" She said as they entered and she stood impatiently as the turbolift seemed to take an unusually long amount of time to get them there as it was only 3 decks away. When the doors swished open Dana led the way as they jumped into action to handle the Medical Emergency.

(OOC: Stopping here so the Doctor can post. If she wants to arrive first that is fine with me. Will take direction from her once on scene. If the Doc isn't there already, Dana will take charge and have everyone move back and her and Reynolds will try to determine the problem with Thorson)

Well she was just in Sickbay an hour or so ago and besides she has to keep an eye on there 'wet behind the ears' nurses so yeah she is there.

I'll work something up for later. Not trying to steal any thunder Doc, I just figure Cook and one of the new nurses could respond to offer aid. I'll post about going there but await your post Yanamari regarding aid to the patient.

Ok, the emergency comm said to Sickbay. Would PO Cook hear that as well? If so I would like to have her respond to Engineering along with one other nurses and meet the Doctor there.

Looking forward to the meeting being over so the posting can continue. I was thinking of doing a fluff post but I don't want to get ahead of the time frame that we are in. I might post something that I would have to retract later.

So can't wait till things start moving again.

I just heard that Prince passed away. I am deeply saddened by this news. I really loved him growing up and still do.

He was a very esoteric artist. He will be missed.

"Perhaps it is best if I leave now and force the hand of these two whom I should be able to handle without undue problems," Tatiana said, at that moment, "I will regret leaving such a lively conversation partner. I must say I have not been so pleasantly entertained in such a long time."

"Pleasantry is a matter of perspective, I think, cousin," Nyx grinned, "but I am glad I could entertain you for however short a time." He lifted his goblet, then, in something of a farewell gesture and said; "If you feel you must go, far be it from me to stand in your way, arwenamin. May the stars lead you to peaceful pastures, yes?"

Tatiana considered and then decided that she shouldnt endanger this good place with her problems. She downed the last swallow of her wine with finality and set the glass down and picked up her staff which still was resting against the table.

"I feel that I must deal with this problem now," she said as she rose to her feet, "rather than later."
The two men stiffened visibly in their seats as they saw her rise and look as if she were leaving.

"Dont worry," she said as she leaned over towards him slightly, "I wont incur the ire of our faithful 'problem solver' there." She nodded her head towards Murph who had sat up in his seat as he had apparantly noticed the tension in the air.

The two warriors glanced from Tatiana to the Half-Elf and relaxed a bit as they seemed to realize that if they started anything here then they would have to deal with multiple assailants.

"I thank you Nyx," Tatiana said as she stood tall and grasped her staff tightly, "you have shown me that not all Mith'ganni are untrustworthy loners." She grinned at him as if she had just made a joke.

"Quel fara Nyx," she said with a sigh, "Tenna' ento lye omenta."

After his response she turned towards the door. Her gaze purposefully sweep over the two men and when one of them met her gaze for a moment she winked at him. She walked past Sarah as she entered the room from the kitchen. She paused and handed her another gold coin and nodded her head towards Nyx when she spoke to the girl. Whatever she said the girl nodded and then glanced at Nyx.

Tatiana stepped to the door and opened it. She paused and glanced back to him and smiled and nodded then stepped out of the Inn letting the door close behind her.

After she left Sarah came over from the bar with another bottle of what he was drinking and set it on the table.

"Compliments of the Lady," she said and then turned and went back towards the bar.

So, please," she smirked, "refrain from any gallant acts that would do anything to tarnish your reputation. I will get out of this predicament on my own. If I can't handle a few round-eared sword swingers by myself then what kind of spell-slinger am I?"

Nyx actually laughed at this. "The sort that gets overwhelmed by a number of swords and a magical retainer brought back from the garrison, perhaps?

Besides, gallantry has nothing to do with it, cousin," he snickered, sipping at his wine, "Think of it as more a self-imposed blood-debt, yes?" He returned his goblet to the table, then, his eyes flitting about the room once more before he offered a shrug and leaned back in his chair a bit; "But, if you say to leave it, leave it I shall."

Tatiana smiled at him and seemed to consider his words for a few moments before she responsed. She took a sip of her wine before speaking.

"Well they are welcome to try and overwhelm me if they can," she said with a michevious grin, "but that hasnt worked for them in the past."

She glanced at the two who had finished their meal and were now nursing their drinks to bide them time.

"I am curious as to what they might try this time," she said then sighed, "but I fear it would result in deaths. I, unlike you dear cousin, do not relish killing even the round-ears."

She looked down at her glass and set it down with a sort of finality.

"Perhaps it is best if I leave now and force the hand of these two whom I should be able to handle without undue problems," she stated but then looked at him, "I will regret leaving such a lively conversation partner. I must say I have not been so pleasantly entertained in such a long time." She finished with a dazzling smile and sparkle to her eyes.

Tatiana Ravenwood replaced the bottle on the table and sat back in her chair and just looked at Nyx for a long moment. Her face was passive and almost unreadable as far as what she might be thinking. It almost looked like she couldn't believe what she was hearing. Finally she sighed and shook her head.

"Seems that I owe you an apology," she finally said, "calling you a Sereg'wethrin was out of place it seems. For I can't believe that you are one now for if so you would never willingly offer to do such a deed without payment."

She seemed to consider his offer but only for a short moment and then shook her head.

"As much as I would love to be rid of these pursuers," she proclaimed, "removing them would do no good as others would follow. I am innocent of the charges and to just kill the men who think they are doing their duty to save my own skin would make me out to be the monster they think that I am."

"So please," she said with a smirk, "refrain from any gallant acts that would do anything to tarnish your reputation. I will get out of this predicament on my own. If I can't handle a few round-eared sword swingers by myself then what kind of spell-slinger am I?"

Stardate 2365.02.08
USS Peregrine, Sick Bay - 1045

Nearing Dana, Louise addressed the petty officer with enough volume for the others to hear. "Head Nurse, Dana, as always you are fastidious and well-prepared. I knew the arrivals were in perfect hands. No cock ups yet, everything in order?"

"No Sir," Dana replied in an assuring tone, "they should know better."

Lowering her voice so only the Doctoer could hear, "They seem a capable bunch. I think they will do fine."

Louise gave a smile full of warmth that filled her eyes, giving a supportive nod to Dana. "You are far ahead of any other Petty Officer and Head Nurse I've worked with prior. Continue as you were, Dana, with my blessings. I must see to the head officers meeting at 1100, then I shall return. We can meet with the nurses and tech after, reviewing current supplies and updates on our current mission. Of course, continue with your plans of scheduling physicals. I'll bring it up at the meeting."

"We will have all the supply manifests and equipment status by the time the meeting is finished," Dana assured her.

She paused to look at her PADD, raising her eyes back to Dana. "We also may need to consider some new medical tests for a crewman that experienced an accident. He has a mechanical prosthetic. I'll meet with the patient early in the afternoon to get a preliminary report and information on the prosthetic."

"Very well Sir," Dana said with a slightly puzzled look as if this was all news to her.

"And I'm off. See you shortly." Loiuse said and left Sickbay.

Dana turned to the other nurses and just raised an eyebrow and the Nurses who had been listening went back to their tasks.

Tatiana chuckled slightly at Nyx's words and looked over at the men once again. She caught one of them watching them and he quickly turned away which only ensured the suspicions that they were watching her.

"I think these are the Lord's men," she said with a sigh as if the coming conflict was something she wished to avoid, "I noticed a crest on the left breastplace under the travel cloaks of one of the men. It appeared to be the crest of Lord Toman."

She turned back to him and sighed then drank again of her wine. If she continued at this pace the bottle would be gone by the time the men's friends showed up.

"I will not lie and say that I have not killed," she shrugged, "but I did not kill the Lady Toman. She had sought out my advice on dealing with someone in her household that she feared was out to betray her husband. I arranged to meet with her to discuss it and see what if anything I could do. We met and had tea while she was explaining this all to me. She collapsed to the floor before she could tell me the name of the traitor. The Lord's chirugeon determined that it was a poison in the tea. They immediately assumed that I was the one that poisoned her."

"Magic I know," she said as she refilled her glass again and looked at the 2/3 empty bottle and shook her head, "but I don't do poisons. If I was going to kill her I would have used magic and I think I would have enough sense to have done it in such a manner that I was not standing over her dead body when discovered."

She chuckled and looked at the men again who were doing their best to make it look like it was only their meal that interested them.

"I was not believed and they have been hunting me and offering a reward."

Looking at him she chuckled a bit before saying, "Frankly when I first seen you I thought perhaps they had finally hired a true professional for the job."

",Were I hunting you, no distraction would be needed. The less a spell-slinger sees of you, the better, I have learned. They tend to distract themselves easily enough."

Tatiana laughed heartily and nodded slightly as if agreeing with his assessment.

The Mith'ganni chuckled at this, let his eyes flit back to the table where the two remaining soldiers had started tucking in to their meals, and then sipped from his goblet, again, as his gaze returned, almost lazily, to Tatiana. "Now, cousin, you tell me," he asked, "why might these ‘strapping men' be inclined to fetch reinforcements at the mere sight of you, hm?"

She locked eyes with him and raised an eyebrow and then a small smile came to her lips.

"I dont know if I should say," she shrugged, "there is a bounty involved and you might be enticed to collect it."

"But then again," her eyes narrowed to regard him as she absently toyed with the blue-gemed ring on her hand, "I think not."

She took a sip of her wine as she considered and then sighed as she set the glass down and picked up the bottle to refill her glass.

"I think we have some time before their friends arrive," she said with a faint nod of her head towards the Inn's other patrons.

"There is a bounty on my head because a Lord thinks that I had something to do with his wife's demise." She sighed wondering what he would say to that. She could guess but wasnt going to say but rather wait for his response. She picked up her now full glass and took a drink.

Nyx's reply to this was, simply, to take up his goblet and, following a sip of the dregs at the bottom of the thing, extract himself from his shadows. As he whispered across the short distance between his, now abandoned table, and hers, he subtly waved his goblet in Sarah's direction by way of requesting a refill. The barmaid nodded her confirmation and fetched the bottle as the Mith'ganni reached Tatiana's table and settled himself into the seat across from her. "You make many assumptions, my cousin," Nyx smiled coolly, his moon-eyed gaze slithering to the knot of soldiers and, then, back to Tatiana, "Who is to say that I am not being paid other than those parties who have offered the coin for my services? And, better, who is to say for what I might be receiving that payment, yes?"

Tatiana smiled and then shrugged as her only answer to his questions which to her seemed rhetorical anyway.

Sarah arrived at the table, then, and wordlessly refilled Nyx's cup. This done, the barmaid's eyes flitted nervously from the Mith'ganni to the table where the three fighters continued in their hushed tones, and, finally, back to Tatiana whereupon she, at last managed something of a smile; "Another for you, m'lady?"

Tatiana lifted the still half full bottle and smiled at the girl, "I'm fine for now darling! Thank you!" She topped off her glass while she had bottle in hand.

As Sarah scampered away, Nyx smiled across the table at the sorceress. "You have named me assassin more than once, this night, arwenamin," he said softly, "and, in that, perhaps, you are not mistaken. Who is to say, though, that I only get paid for the taking of lives, hm?"

"Ah," she said with a raised eyebrow, "I see. You are a Mercenary. Forgive my earlier misconceptions."

Movement across the room drew her eyes away from him briefly as she looked to the table where the three men sat. One of the men rose and downing the last of his drink he hurried out of the Inn but not before casting a brief glance in their direction. The other two stayed there as the serving girl brought food from the kitchen to their table.

"Seems we will have more time to discuss professions," she said as her eyes turned back to him, "seems he might be going for reinforcements perhaps."

"So," she leaned forward towards him a little and lowered her voice, "tell me. Are you on a 'job' now? Have you come to this place other than to drink? Perhaps the strapping men there are but a distraction and it is you that I should be wary of?" Her smile said that she didn't seem to be worried about him or even the men across the room other than it would cause a disturbance of the Peace and Quiet of the Inn.

Stardate 2365.02.08
USS Peregrine, Sick Bay - 1118

Petty Officer Cook sat at the desk in Sickbay and looked over the files before her. The new Nurses seemed to be quite capable with the choirs that she had given them. Their records said they were all exceptional and so far they seemed to be living up to that rating.

Yeoman Toriak was a typical Vulcan and was efficient and thorough with the records. He had already sorted all of the prospectives for the complete work-ups that Dr. Moore had ordered. He had prioritized them based on several factors which Dana thought might be a bit too thorough but she wasnt going to complain because she didnt see any problem with it either way.

Nurse Peter Adama was more than a pretty face as well. He had went through the inventory system along with Vinay and had even suggested some new techniques for storing and arranging the medical supplies. Dana had agreed to them at once and had told the man that it was a good suggestion. All part of that Positive reinforcement she was working on with her subordinates.

The record on Nurse Miraan had said that she was intelligent as well as beautiful and so far she seemed to be just that. Dana had put her on finding any further information on the physiology of the Kuldar and Rytain diplomats. She had managed to find additional information using the computer database search functions in some creative ways that had not occured to Dana. Again she had told her it was good work and told her to forward the information to Dr. Moore's PADD so she could look at the information at her leisure.

Nurse Reynolds was proving to be a bit of a problem though. Dana had given her the task of checking the operation of Sickbay equipment to ensure it's functions so they would be ready when needed. The crewman had complained that she had drawn the harder job all because she was the lowest rank. Dana had informed her that she was correct and she could start with the Medical BioBeds and then move on to the other equipment such as Tricorders, Laser Scapels, Hyposprays, Dermal Regenerators, etc. The woman grumbled but went about her duties.

Dana had over seen all of their actions as they worked and was impressed with their efficiency. She was pleased as she had expected to get a bunch of nurses that were screwups and only stationed here because no one else wanted them. But it was appearing that they all were competent. Even Crewman Reynolds was proving she knew her job even if she did complain about doing more than her fair share.

Dana planned to work with Reynolds to help her fall in line. She had not found anyone yet that she couldnt whip into shape. Besides Reynolds seemed to have something to prove. That she was good at her job and that could be used to move her in the right direction.

Once Nurse Miraan had given her the info she had found then Dana had assigned her to assist Reynolds with the equipment. It was a bigger job than the others and that is why she had given it to the one with a chip on her shoulder.

Dr. Moore had gone to the staff meeting but she had told Dana that the Ambassadors would arrive aboard at Noon and that the ship would depart an hour later. She planned to have the Sickbay and it's new personnel ready in case they encountered any issues while underway.

(OOC: I assume the Dr. would be a part of that meeting and that she would have told the Head Nurse about the departure plans. If I am wrong I can edit that part out.)
