Stardate 2365.02.08
USS Peregrine, Crew Mess - 1205

(OOC: Ody. There would be 3 nurses at least in the mess when John walked in there but since Reynolds was still in Sickbay with Dana that leaves only 1 female. PO Adama and Crewman Patel are both males. Only Miraan would have been there when John came in. Also Adama and Patel will arrive in engineering to assist with moving Chief Thorson so only Miraam would be there when he walked out. I will work with that.)

Peter Adama happened to look up as a Lt had walked into the Mess hall and smiled in the direction of his table. Peter looked around and saw that Vinay Patel had noticed it too. The two of them raised an eyebrow at each other and shrugged before going back to their meals.

Miraan the very lovely and voluptuous Ardanan female nurse bounced over with a tray of food and plopped down between the two male nurses.

"Well," Miraan said as she looked at her tray, "at least the food isnt that bad. I've had worse." She began to dig into her meal with gusto as if she had skipped a meal or two.

The other two nurses chuckled and continued eating and Adama and Miraan listened at Vinay told them of some of what they could expect on this ship. He told them of how PO Cook was a bit of a hard case as they had already seen but she was also fair and took on alot of the tough jobs herself. She ran a tight ship he said but she didnt ask anything of her subordinates that she herself was not willing to give.

PO Adama and Crewman Patel finished there meal and rose to put away their trays. Miraan was still working on hers so she remained seated.

"You guys go ahead," Miraan said to them, "I'll be along shortly."

"OK," Adama responded as he and Patel headed for the door, "Best hurry as I am sure PO Cook has something else for use to do as part of our orientation."

Miraan decided that another dessert was in order and went to get another helping and a glass of milk.

Rising from the table Lt. John Reid pulled tunic tight to straighten his dress uniform and remembered the nurses. John lifted his glass of milk and chugged the last remnants. Turning to their table he flashed them a bright milk mustache smile and nodded, "Ma'am."

Chuckling to himself he strode out grabbing a small napkin as he passed out the door to the gangway. Wiping the milk from his lip he headed back to his quarters to get some sleep before reporting for duty.

Miraan reached up and brushed a curly lock of her red hair from her face and smiled after the handsome LT as she watched him with her vibrant hazel green eyes.

"Who is that?" she asked with a wonderous tone to no one in particular. She would have to find out.

"Well now," Miraan said as she rose with her tray to put it away, "Perhaps I should see about scheduling the physical for that LT myself."

Putting her tray away she straightened her uniform and exited the mess hall headed back towards the Sickbay.

(Edit: Slight change to Ody's part of the post. Nothing major. Carry on! )

Well using the Medical staff duty roster. They only work 3 days a week during normal operations. Not accounting for emergencies. They also have a specialist who does the lab type work when needed and a Yeoman to take care of a lot of those admin dues. It seems like a reasonable schedule to me.

I think the senior staff would also have Yeomans to handle a lot of their admin things. They only have to review and sign off on them.

Somehow I don't think the GM is going to give us a lot of spare time to cross train. Besides, we have 5 nurses and a Doctor. If it gets to the point we need more than we are all in trouble.

Hoping we're not giving our GM any ideas. Hmmm I guess he probably already has those ideas.

Yes we can work out a collaboration or something.

I will back post something regarding his exit from the mess hall.

The Medical duty schedule is in game on page 9 about 2/3 down the page.

Sorry. I missed that part when he entered and looked at them. I would have responded if I had seen it. I'm sorry I'm a little spacey at times. In the future if you would please drop me a PM to let me know I would be glad to have any of them interact. I'm sure Miraan especially would have had a response.

USS Peregrine, Main Engineering - 1218 ~ 1228

Dana gave the chief a sedative in a leg right ready to trash and kick. The good doctor nodded to Reynolds who likewise threw her strength in to hold the patient still. The mountain of a man had strength, and a mechanical arm, coupled with a seizure any further calamities were entirely possible.

Soon the sedation calmed the physical nerves, enough for Louise to edge around and slap a neural sensor array at the base of Thorson's neck. Wiping out a tricorder, she began reviewing the telemetry. "I would increase dosage, 20 mm, Cook. Reynolds, not too tight on that shoulder. He could have sympathetic reactions."

Dana nodded and reset the dosage as directed by the Dr and reapplied the hypospray. As she did this she looked up at Nurse Reynolds and said, "Watch that arm. Don't get near it even if he seems out of it."

(FYI Nurse Reynolds is female. )

"He's easing, but I wouldn't consider us far from the woods." The doctor said as she monitored her tricorder. "The sensors show his mind is quite a hub of activity, but the responses on those neurons from the arm, it's a strange mess of signals. I'm a tad bit out of my depth when it comes to the mechanics of those pistons, the cyber arrays, and these neural responders."

"Dana," she offered across her tricorder as she heard the arrival of Zai. "Keep monitoring him, any fluctuation, hit him up with another dose then shift this inhibitor." She tapped at the screen. "It should be enough to keep the arm from flailing and hurting himself or others."

Dana came to her feet and accepted the tricorder and nodded, "Yes Doctor."

Straightening her longcoat, Louise neared Zai as he took stock and asked what more could be done.

As the good Doctor turned to address the XO and a new comer. Dana followed the Doctor's directions as she herself studied the tricorder. She shook her head at the jumble of readings which didnt make sense unless you had a mechanical arm and a seizure she guessed. She handed the hypospray to Reynolds and had her reset the hypo and to stand ready to administer another shot if she saw any fluctuations that would indicate any troubles.

Tapping her comm, the Doctor ordered a hover stretcher and restraints to help take Thorson to medical. "Sick Bay with us. Let's keep the chief most comfortable and start analyzing this data."

In minutes Petty Officer Adama arrived along with Crewman Patel and the hover stretcher and restraints. They carefully moved the Chief Engineer to the stretcher and restrained him there making sure the mechanical arm was securely fastened. Dana monitored the tricorder readings ready to give the word to Nurse Reynolds to hit him again with the sedative.

Once he was secure the group began to move the patient to the Sickbay. Dana followed behind keeping a close eye on the readings as they moved to the turbolift and then into Sickbay. There they would move the patient to one of the Medical Beds and again secure him down for his and everyone's safety.

On a sidenote. I've noticed that since I've joined this game it has slowed way down. It was going gangbusters at the beginning that I almost dropped fir fear that I couldn't keep up with it. But I don't have any problem with that now.

I hope that I am not the albatross of this game.

Well I would post something but I'm kind of waiting on the doctor at this moment.

Maybe I can post something about one of the other nurses. I guess that would be OK. Hmmm.

So Eol. I see you asked me what I was looking for and I have to say something similar to what we were doing in The Lute but more of an adventure of some kind. Someone, not me really, who is overseeing it like a GM. Sort of what we are doing in the Star Trek game but in a fantasy setting maybe. I wouldn't be opposed to a modern day setting either. Hoping to have a few more people but nothing huge.

Maybe I'm wasting my time asking but I'm just looking to fill some time.

I don't think that I am ready for a rules-based game. I know that the GM makes all the dice rolls but the player has to be knowledgeable about the rules in order to make the decision about what to do based on those rules..

What I'm really looking for is a free-form game that somebody is interested in running an adventure either fantasy like your DND or even something modern.

I'm not looking to run a game myself but just participate in said game. Just looking to see if anyone is interested in starting something. It doesn't have to be a huge affair with a ton of players but more than a couple would probably be good.

Anyone starting or have room in a Free Form game? I am looking for something else to do since the Star Trek game I am in has slowed down a bit now that it is underway and I find I have time to do some posting.

So anyone have any openings or thinking of starting something? It would have to be Free Form cause I know nothing of all these Rules games that seem to be the norm.

Post here or PM me if you prefer. Thanks!

Boo Boo (Yeah that's my name. Got a problem with that? )

The men hurriedly drank a couple of glasses practically gulping them down. They usually didnt drink such fine spirits. One of the men downed his second glass and nudged the other and they both stood up. They glanced momentarily over towards the Dark elf in the corner as they hurried out the door.

Outside they looked around and one of them saw a flash of light colored cloth towards the woods and they hurried towards it. They entered the woods and stopped to look around for further signs. One man was looking around when the other suddenly crashed into him as he fell to the ground.

"Hey," the man said as he barely kept his feet, "What the matta with ya?"

Looking down at his comrade whose face had already turned blue as he grasped at his throat. He started to lean over when suddenly he felt a tightness in his chest and then it turned into a burning sensation as he grasped his chest and fellt next to his partner.

In less than a minute they were both stone dead. As darkness was deepening the howl of some wolves echoed across the forest. The pack would eat well tonight.

Further into the woods Tatiana Ravenwood paused in her walking and turned to look back towards the way she had come. Her eyes narrowed a bit and she sighed as she shook her head. Seems the Mith'ganni couldnt help himself she thought.

Moving on she raised her staff and the head of it began to glow with a soft blue light. This served to not only light her way but it also allowed her to sense life forms within a certain radius. She was on the look out for others that might be following her. She knew that the man who had left would bring back others but she wasnt sure how far away he had to go to get them.

So far she had managed to elude her pursuers and she hoped to avoid them if possible. It wasnt that she was afraid for he life but rather she feared for theirs. She had faced them before and so far it had only cost them lives of their men who were only doing as their Lord had instructed. She hated to kill them for only during their job.

She walked for awhile and had sensed only animals such as wolves and such. She knew that somewhere behind her some wolves were going to have an easy meal. The light from her staff served another purpose to keep the scavengers at bay. It told them that there was easier prey to be had elsewhere. Here would lie only death if they approached the soft bluish light.

Looking to Dana and Reynolds, Dr Moore relayed short info in that same calmness. "Thorson had an issue of violent reactions in his cyberarm. If he is thrashing, do not let that hand get ahold. We need to sedate him, but if the issue is mechanical, it will still move and close. There may be neural transmission issues, but a seizure screams of something biochemical."

Dana nodded and as they approached the seizing Chief Engineer she turned to the crewman with her.

"Reynolds," Dana instructed, "prepare a hypospray of Merfadon-10mg." Merfadon was a strong sedative and muscle relaxant and she hoped that it would knock out Cmdr Thorson and halt the seizures of his body at least.

Crewman Reynolds set the medkit on a nearby work station and quickly prepared the hypospray and handed it to Nurse Cook who was standing just out of range of the thrashing Thorson. Dana looked over at the Doctor letting her know that she was ready.

(Assuming approval to proceed)

PO Cook nodded and then she circled around to the feet of the Cmdr and quickly she knelt down and grabbed one of his thrashing ankles with one hand and pressed the hypospray to his lower leg with the other. All the time she kept her eyes on the metal arm of the man ready to jump back if it made any move in her direction.

(OOC: Okay. I am not sure how to proceed here. I will let someone else decide if it works or if his arm turns me into jelly. )
