Topic: Star Wars The Imperial March Q&A
Subject: possibly sorry

not sure if we got a posting order going, but i figured since Sellikus was at the head of the group, he would be first to react. (Not to mention his trigger-happy nature.)

Subject: its on

Sellikus slowed as the group approached the first dead trooper. This was obviously the place.
Wrinkling his nose slightly, the Kiffar continued on, quickly finding another corpse. but this one wasn't Imperial.....
Slowly bending down, Sellikus began to examine the body, having never seen a Tapien up close before.
But before he could learn much, he was set into action.
A split second after the strange blue light roars past TK, Sellikus jumped to his feet, both pistols raised, pointed to the area the light came from, and blasting in a wide spray.

"Take cover!" He yells, though he expected everyone should already have reached the same conclusion.
Moving to the nearest tree, the Kiffar continued firing until his blasters' power packs ran dry.

(Actions: Quick examination of Tapien(Irrelevent), Lay down suppressive fire)

Arimm smiled as the inquisitor pushed forward, his deadly weapon promising to smite the undead grunt before it had a chance to block. But Arimm knew his own skills as well, and the previous zombie dodging his attacks was enough to make the assassin err on the side of caution.
Following the Ifrit closely, timing his move carefully, he rolls around his companion and the zombie just before Canicus' swing hit home.
(The rest of this post is assuming i don't mess up and roll off the cliff...)

Jumping up behind the two, Arimm brings both daggers up to enter either side of the creatures throat at a 90 degree angle.

(Actions: Roll around combatants, Flank attack Zombie.)
((Stabbing at 90 degree angles so if Canicus manages to crush this one's skull, hopefully it won't damage my weapons. ))

Arimm was angry at this point. Not only had the ranger almost died by these fiends, but they had had the advantage on him for a moment, and had managed to strike his back with great force. It was painful, but Arimm forced his thoughts on the battle at hand, trying to block it out, as his training had taught him.
Now, facing the last one, and with the inquisitor at his side, the battle was more to his liking. Looking to Canicus, The assassin smiles.
"Get his attention for me, would ya? I think I'll do a bit better if the beast doesn't get a chance to fend me off." He said, fingers re-gripping his daggers, and shifting to rest his weight onto the balls of his feet, crouching slightly.

Sellikus nodded again, climbing from the trench and immediately pressed his side to the nearest tree, keeping eyes out while the rest of the unit scrambled up.
The pale light was eerie, but suddenly Sellikus was glad for it. The forest would have otherwise likely been quite difficult to see through.

Once everyone had made it out, he went back into a half crouch and started the procession, keeping the pace quick, quiet, and cautious. Twin pistols still in hand, The Kiffar left no mental stone unturned. He wasn't going to die in some crummy forest in the middle of this war-torn kriff hole......

((Actions: Scale Trench wall, Quick sneaky jog, looking for hostiles))

Arimm didn't pause as his first target was brought down. Two more remained, one now burned, and the other having just torn a chunk out of the Male Dark Elf's throat.
'That didn't take long...' The assassin thought, drawing his masterwork daggers and pushing forward. the path was very congested, leading to treacherous steps. Damn Horse.

But now he was up further, sliding past the possibly dying elf and bringing the razor sharp blades up into the Zombie that still had dark flesh clutched in it's maw.

Arimm kept up a jogging pace, following the cavalier's horse, though the distance between them slowly increased.

It wasn't long into the journey that the assassin noticed the horse rear, causing the dark elf to fall from it's back. However, she landed on her feet with such agility that Arimm found himself momentarily impressed.
'Probably the only interesting person I work with...' He thought to himself with a grim smile.
'She would make for an interesting mark.'

Quickly closing the distance, he came apon the horse in mere moments.
Sliding around the female elf, he veiwed the abominations ahead. Undead.

Without waiting for a plan to be formed, or for another Blade to take charge, Arimm sheathed his masterwork daggers and loosed two standard daggers toward the zombies, hoping to score a head shot or two. The elf had impressed him. it was time to return the service.

((I'll modify later if need be.))

Sellikus nodded to Cam, turning his comm over to the droid. Looking around again, The Kiffar nodded to himself, then spoke to Cam.

"Sir, I say we get out of this pit. Run parallel to it, using the trees as cover. With any luck, there is no ambush, and even if there is, we won't be where they expect." He explained quickly, keeping an eye on the tree line for hostiles.

Arimm watched the strange light of the temple for a few moments before deciding it wasn't as important as the battle below.
He thought the ambush ruse was clever, but his favorite part was coming. The counter-attack....

It was beautiful. So many lives extinguished in the same hour. It was almost a tangible feeling. The smell of blood was only just starting to creep up the hill, drawing a tight smile to his lips.

The great twister of light belched from within the temple suprised him, but the smile remained. This was getting interesting.

Only when the mist was pushed back, and Arimm witnessed their army feasting on itself did his face drop into a grimace.

He barely heard the High General, but understood the mission. Drawing his beautifully crafted twin daggers, Arimm waited. He had nothing to prepare. He was always ready for battle......

Sellikus stops, fist held up in a signal to hold. Turning about, he addresses Cam.
"Sir, what are your orders? This is a bad spot to remain in." He states, eyeing the eerie trees for any sign of hostile units, or movement of any sort....

Salvator nodded, remaining silent for a few moments as if considering something.
After what could have been deemed an uncomfortable silence, Salvator leaned forward, face serious.
"Then it seems you are in a vulnerable state, and a dangerous situation. Not to mention, even the smallest of fights is a great risk to you...." He stated, sounding as if he was talking to himself as much as her.
Taking a great gulp from his mug, he nods, as if asked a question.
"So, it seems you will be needing a protector, at least for a few months. And I would be happy to fill the void." He says casually, as if surrendering months of his adventurous life was hardly even a matter.

Salvator looked up, quickly smiling and trying not to stare so obviously.

"Oh, who knows? Maybe until tomorrow, maybe in a few weeks. All depends on how long this land and it's people hold my interest." He replied with a shrug.
Draining the remaining liquid in his mug, which had started to warm, he waved for another round....

(Alright, you gotta tell me what is so interesting. lol PM if you want, but my curiosity is through the roof, and Sal seems to already see it. lol)

Sellikus remained silent throughout the march, feeling that as some (Or all) of them would be dead before the mission was over, that there was little point in getting friendly. He just continued on at the head of the group, setting a quick pace.

When the buzzing started, he was a trigger squeeze away from putting three blaster holes into the trench wall before realizing it was the comm link he had been issued.
Without so much as slowing his pace, he opened the comm channel....

(If the group is stopping, someone may want to shout, cuz Sellikus ain't stopping. He figures they are following still, and doesn't care enough to look back unless given an order from his commander.)

Salvator smiled. That was an easy answer.
"New horizons, dear girl. I find I am incapable of remaining in one place even for as long as it takes me to get familier with it." He replied, sipping his own drink.

"I fear I will never see the whole world before my time comes... But can't hurt to try, right?" He added with a laugh.
'Not to mention all sorts of new loot.' He thought, but didn't add.

Reverting back to what she was saying, He went on to say,
"So you mean to settle? The road has lost it's appeal to you then? Do you not crave adventure?"

The question was forward, and a bit blunt, But Salvator never cared much for the game of words that so many of the nobler classes played... Though he could if it was needed.

Salvator smiled, nodding as if he knew the place, though in fact, he had never heard of it.

"what is wrong Salvator?" She asked suddenly, throwing him off a bit.
"What could be wrong when talking to one such as yourself, my dear?" He responded, sipping his own drink as his eyes looked her up and down.
She seemed to be hiding something... but then, so was everyone. A person could never be too careful of their secrets. And Salvator wasn't after secrets.
Taking a more serious look, he asks,
"So, what brings you to these lands, If I may ask?"

(Cormyr is actually a land I am currently in a campaign in... with this character, no less. lol)

Desrik watched Twig, raising an eyebrow.
"This will be interesting...." He muttered, deciding he might as well head around to the back.

Walking at a casual pace, he circled the building, hoping the crook hadn't already cut and run. Still, even if he had, there was bound to be some good stuff inside.....

Grabbing a fist-sized stone on the way, he tore a sleeve from his shirt, knotted one end, and dropped the stone in, making a sad excuse for a flail......

Salvator smiled slightly, sliding fluidly into a chair across from her. He then places his large hat on the chair to his right, and says, "Beautiful name fitting a beautiful woman. I am Salvator Navaar, An adventurer of small fame around Cormyr." He adds this last part with a slight cocky smirk.
"And where are you from, If I may ask? Surely not from around here?"

(Yes, I went so far as to roll perception, with a minus. Didn't notice the hand on the stomache)

Before i fill out the missing info, I have but 2 questions.

1. Did A/C go reverse? I notice that, at least as far as 2e. goes, my flat footed A/C is better than my normal A/C...... Not to mention it seems A/C in of itself has gotten worse, as the worst A/C you could get in 2e. without negatives was 10. Just hoping someone could explain this to me.

2. So philosopher, do those stats work for you, or do you want a reroll?

Sellikus offered only the slightest of nods before his feet were moving him down the trench, ducked into a slight crouch, and both pistols raised. He didn't bother wasting his ammo by firing into the enemy's ranks unless they were already in his path, or within sight of the edge of the trench.

He still understood little of the mission's objective, and this bothered him. The Imps seemed to rely heavily on a 'need to know' basis, and as of yet, it seemed he didn't need to know.

Blaster fire peppered the landscape, brightened only by the random explosion. It seemed that, at this point, their lives really depended on luck over skill.... And this bothered Sellikus more than anything....
