is there any way to open the door a certain amount? like say, just wide enough for two clones to use good cover on either side? >.> <.<

We may just have to stick to our guns.

Subject: the calm....

Hodges sighed, stepping back from the door.
"Nothing.... If they are out there, they aren't doing much." he growled to Slade, taking a seat and placing his helmet between his legs. He looked to the trooper across from him, his strong demeanor faltering. "A fine mess we are in, eh? Guess this had to be expected. The republics finest facing down the over-whelming numbers of the enemy..." He joked, though it came out sour, flowing with sarcasm. But his following words held none of that as he added, "We just have to hold on, soldier. One side or another will fall... And I'll be damned if I die by a clanker's lousy aim."

It was total oisk, he knew. they would all die here. Down to the man, they would be slaughtered. And it wouldn't matter how many broken droids surrounded them. The droids were as expendable as he was. Cheaper, even. How could they possibly stand against so many?

Still, they would. They would fight til their last breath... Hodges knew he would. And he doubted Slade or the others would have much of a choice. No one would escape this unscathed...

Checking his rifle charge again, even though he knew it's current power level, The clone fell silent, his own thoughts carrying him far away, back to Kamino. To his family. His brothers in arms, numbering more than any droid army could touch. How safe he felt then.... how confident....

The sight beyond the opening doors of the Hanger Bay drewa dark, wrinkled frown across Drunik's face. A look that, though matching no human expression, easily revealed an anger and annoyance that spoke volumes. Before him, his ship seemed a loading unit. Republic soldiers flitted in and out, carrying crates of gods knew what. Sweat formed on the Quarren's already moist forehead. He deeply hoped they didn't check anysecret hatches....

His mind running the situation over, however, he calmed quickly. This was the career he chose... For now.

"Excuse me privates, where can I find the Loadmaster?" He heard as the Jedi moved past Drunik, not noticing his dark mood. One of the clones looked to Valum as he walked by with a crate of rations. "Jigsaw's over there sir, talking with Sarge." Valum nodded as he walked towards the Sergeant and Jigsaw, Drunik moving to follow, his mandibles clicking. "Sergeant, Loadmaster Jigsaw. Have the preparations been completed?"

"Yes sir, we just have a couple of smaller ration and medical supply crates to put in the cargo hold and everything will be ready for departure." Putting his hand on the clone's shoulder, Valum gave what was considered a smile among Kel Dor. "Very good, I will have my team ready to board as soon as your troopers are done. Job well done men!"

Walking back to the party, Valum greeted them with open arms. "Preparations are almost complete and we can board this ship and proceed with our mission. If there are any questions feel free to ask me now or onboard." Stepping aside, he motioned for the Quarren to board his ship first.

Drunik offered a small frown, wondering briefly if these beings even knew a quarren expression when they saw it. As he led the way up the boarding ramp, electronic yelling could be heard, soon revealing a silvery droid, it's arms flailing as he directed the last of the crate carriers to it's chosen place. It seemed the soldiers had caused it a good bit of annoyance.

"...You fool, over here! 3 centimeters to the left!" It was calling out as Drunik appeared from behind, delivering a hard slap to the durasteel chassis.

"Leave the bucket heads... get our heading set in" the scoundrel demands, slipping the droid a small datadisk.
"This is the King's Kruise," He shouted to those behind him. "This ship shall be treated with the utmost respect, is that understood?!". Around him, the rusty interior of the ship seemed to argue his point. There was nothing grand about this vessel aside from the name. "She may not look like much, but she will get us where we need to go, that I promise."

As if the point wasn't made, GD flipped his pistol in his hand. "We play by the master's rules." He confirmed, closing the boarding ramp with a slam of his metal fist, his glowing green eyes never leaving the Trandoshan.
"IF there are any easily sick passengers, please leave. " the droid asked, immediately leading folks to their rooms while Drunik followed, informing the droid, "Your gonna get us there. we will take the rest..."

Subject: And so we go...

"As you both know the Republic is not in the best state in this war. Our forces continue to be cut off from loyal colonies, and the seperatist General Grevious is cutting through our ranks in every battle. Now, Special Forces Commander General Arligan Zey has called upon us for a reason. We are to be tasked with finding possible stock piles in the Outer Rim that the Republic can use to our advantage. Unfortuanetly we will have to pass through Seperatist space to get to our initial location. We have all been provided fake identities that should pull us through any security we run in to, which hopefully we shouldn't." Pausing for a breath, Valum looked over to the clone before continuing, giving Drunik time to process this, and smile. So it was a smuggling job. Whaddya know....

"Now I was informed that one of you has a ship that we will be using for this mission. The Republic has agreed to give us as many supplies as the ship can carry. From there on out we will have to garner supplies on our own. The primary objective of this mission is to find loyal colonies for the republic. I am to let you know we are not the only ones pursuing one of these missions. There are other groups with similar objectives. As you may have also notice our third companion here, this is Sergeant Levince. He will be accompaning us in our mission, but will not be following the same objective per se. High Command has asked we do not interfere with what the Sergeant is doing, so I humbly ask you to follow the Republic's Command Protocol and listen to these orders. We are to depart as soon as we possibly can. If there are any questions you can ask me on the way to the ship. Now if the owner of our new vessel could please stand and lead us there." Standing, Valum bows and stretches an arm towards the door. The Quarren eyed him for a few moments, however, before complying. As he started toward the door, his only words were,
"Ya, I got a ship for ya... And it can hold ALOT of supplies..."
He didn't want a Jedi, or a Republic officer on 'The King's Kruise', but a job was a job. And if this one was so important, the reward for completion would be enough to restore his Pursuer back to her former splendor.

Drunik walked ahead of everyone, not bothering to engage in conversation just yet. Let the lizard and the Kel Dor talk. Drunik's job was clear.....

((Was gonna go all the way to the ship this post, but i wanna introduce my Droid in when that happens, so... ))

Indeed. The way I have built Drunik is thesame personality as Druin Navaar, my 1st quarren. The loveable scamp that fits with any group because you cant HELP but adore him (Its a Charisma thang)

I like the Dosh way of life, the religion... but far as lizards go, Barabels are beast.

Subject: What is owed

The room remained silent, as it had for some time. Only the 'tap tap' of a booted Quarren foot against the floor, expressing, among other things, nervous boredom. It seemed like ages since he and the Clone were left in here, sealed away and set to wait. 'Beurocratic oisk', he thought to himself, starring at his guard with narrow eyes, his heavy lids trying to block out most of the light's glare on his large Saphire orbs. He had tried to talk with the trooper a few times, but the duty-bound fool seemed to have little desire for social niceties. What a shame...

So here Drunik sat, comfortably in this hard chair, one hand twirling a facial tenticle, while the other rested on his belt buckle, in easy reach of the DD6 strapped right next to it at the front of his waist, in an eyeballing contest with a helmeted fool. Sometimes, such as now, he often questioned his decision to get involved with the war. He wasn't a soldier. What did he ever hope to gain? A smile touched his mandables. No, he just hoped to stay out of prison. Times of war were times to avoid such accomidations.

So, smuggler turned republic agent. What a strange thing to think... To work for the same authority he so long avoided. Funny, really. Even to this day, he felt a small jolt of adrenaline every time he saw a pub vessel, or officer.

Suddenly, the trooper moved, to the Quarren's amazement.
"Sir," the clone began, " the briefing room is now ready for you. Please follow me.", and turned to open the door.

Snapping to his feet, and uttering a curse in his native tongue, Drunik stepped lively for the exit.
"Then lets not keep em waiting, eh? My legs are half dead and my stomach is a'growlin', so let's get this show on the road." He declared loudly, shooing the clone onward.

_____________________________________________

".....And thats how I got out of paying Gwall." Drunik was saying as they entered the room, to a silent trooper. Noting the Trandoshan's appearence, he turned to ask his new friend about it, but was hurredly shooed into yet another room. As the door closed, the Quarren was almost sure he heard a sigh of relief from his guard. Frowning, he turned to look into the new room, noting that the decor did little to improve the atmosphere.

"Ah gentlemen! Please take a seat." A Kel Dor said, standing and gesturing to the chairs. Drunik noted the table, 3 chairs, and 3 other sentients, but remained silent as he moved forward. Not waiting for them to take a seat, the creature began, " What is discussed here can go no further. If you do, Republic Intelligence would not be pleased." He paused for a moment, giving ample silence for Drunik's dramatic eyebrow-fold raise. He expected it was customary to allow authority figures dramatic tension, and ample responses.

" I am Jedi knight Valum Dio. The assignment you two will be getting will be incredibly dangerous. You have each been selected because you possess a skill-set that we need to successfully do this mission. This is the one time you can choose to leave, and have nothing more to do with this mission. Are you in?"

The ex-smuggler's brow knitted. He could guess his role in all of this already. But it didn't mean he liked it... He looked to the Dosh, trying to judge how he liked his new meat shield.

He leaned forward in his seat, rested an arm upon the table, and looked the Jedi straight in the eye.
"I signed up for this thing because it was dangerous- because there are gonna be monsters to gut, sharpie. You think I'm kiddin' about why I'm here?"

Drunik's chin raised slightly. He really should have expected such an answer from one of the reptilian races. Clearing his throat slightly, and adjusting his crimsom jacket, he added in his own nod.

"Aye, I suppose. Violence, bloodshed, dramatic climaxes. Sounds like my gig." He said, doing his best to keep the sarcasm from his wet, gurgled voice. "So what's the job?"

Licking his fingers, Mal drops the fish he had been working on and looks around, a lighter mood evident on the warrior's face. Amazing what a real meal could do, he thinks to himself as he stretches, and grabs up his Saber. Looking on to the portals before them, he says,

"I be seein' no way to know what door leads to good things, lads. With that in mind, I says we go to the right, as left be bad luck, and them foul rats be waitin' through the straight course."

Mal's blade droops to the floor as the feast is summoned before them, an amazed, and hungry look in his eye. This had, indeed, been a good route to choose. Looking around for any other possible threats, he them steps cautiously toward the table, and the fish.
Looking down, he noted Ivan next to him lift a bowl of small brown chunks, and complain about a fancy feast. Shrugging, he concludes that he is indeed pleased with the feast before them, and lifts the plate of salmon.

"There be no need to pass up free food, I say." He proclaimed shortly, with a slight grin.

Tearing off a small piece, both to sample the flovor, and try to detect any poisons, He them takes a seat at the table to relish his meal.

Casting a final glance at the blooded monsters on the floor, Mal then follows through after the rest of the company, his thoughts still on their new revelations. With each passing moment, their hope of surviving this ordeal seemed to diminish. But morale seemed to remain strong for now, and that brought a measure of relief to the Swashbuckler. The minute they lost faith was the minute they would fall.

As he faded through the gateway, now well enough accustomed to the feel of being teleported, he considered that perhaps he should follow Wembley's example. Perhaps he could seem less concerned, and as Wembley's worry-free attitude improved his morale, so his could everyone else's.

Such thoughts faded as he appeared behind the others, to gaze apon ten ghastly rats, each the size of a large dog, and sporting signs of undeath.

Immediately, the clerics began their incantations, things Mal would never understand. raising his saber, he stepped out before the main body of his allies, meaning to hack down anything that drew near the more bulnerable clerics, or poor Ivan.

((Held attack, 1st rat to go near the short members of our company gets a nice whack to the noggin.))
