well, im letting a bit of Desrik's mind show for your OOC entertainment.

Subject: well....

Desrik simply Nods to Molly, as he felt no words need be said. Of course he would help. It was against his nature not to.... And he had learned along time ago that actions that were done without question of reward seemed to end up paying the most... It just took a bit of charisma.
His face remains stoic as the 'Avenger' character nearby shouted oaths of revenge and blood-letting, his own mind already making the calculations crucial to making the most profit out of this.
For one, prestige was a reward in of itself, which could buy drinks and rooms better than Palts at times. Then there was the fame that could come with it, gaining more tasks. After all, word of mouth was the best advertising.

....But more importantly, what rewards would this woman give for such a noble deed, returning her daughter to her. He wasn't completely sure, but he assumed that one of the men she reported to be killed was likely her husband. One Obstacle gone....
His gaze shifted over her briefly, wondering what she might look like if she wasn't a tattered mess of fear and sorrow....
And to make his decision final, he had to admit he needed the action. Needed to shake the cobwebs from his skill.

Looking again at Bailox, he returns the great man's nod. Bailox, he suspected, had the greatest chance of survival, aside from himself. The man seemed all the right parts of a powerful warrior. And an honorable one....
Desrik had a code of honor, which he kept very close to. But it seemed many men's definition of Honor differed from his. Some had tried to kill him for it. If Bailox decided to try, the Mercenary knew he would stand little chance. Yet if the man didn't turn on him, he had no intention of losing a powerful, and dare he say, entertaining brother in arms.

He gazes over the other sentient's offering their service, a strange variety. The 'Avenger', he suspected, would likely survive, though Desrik wasn't sure how he felt about the loud warrior. His new magic-toting drinking buddy.... Well, Desrik was pretty sure he was good as dead.
"Too bad... Boy has heart..." He mumbles, his gaze shifting again to the half-breed that had offered up his cloak to the woman. He seemed an odd sort to Desrik. Possibly a warrior, but possibly carrying a bit of magic? The mercenary couldnt tell.... But he had learned a long time ago that the unpredictable ones were the most dangerous. Of the assorted party, Desrik felt the half-breed was the most dangerous to him personally, and resolved to keep an eye on him.....

This would be an interesting job....

My personal feelings, the map from FF9 was impressive to me, and it has been so long I can hardly remember it, so I personally would have no advantage in that area.

I already feel bonded to my character, and your level of detail is note worthy Tek

On a side note, gonna wait on my post, as the mercenary is simply trying his best to appear compitent for this task, though he matched Bailox drink for drink, and is much smaller. Determined as he is, he is best to just stand quietly.

Im sure Molly knows him to be a man of honor.

Hodges was on his feet in an instant, watching Gyro, waiting to hear a response.... grabbing up his rifle, he slowly moves over to his armor and begins suiting up, a bead of sweat running down his forehead. Fear.
So he got his wish. They were seeing action. And with so few....
He pushed the thought out of his head, just waiting to see if anyone responded from the different outposts.

I blame my computer. well, my room mates computer to be honest. Neither the handbook, nor the map will open for me after DLing them.

If this is becoming too much of a hassle for you hammer, i can withdraw. But I am also good with whatever you give me.

Hodges cracks an eye, frowning. It wasn't that he disliked music... He didnt LIKE it but he didn't dislike it. But these past days had made his temper run short, and often, anything he said was quick, stoic, and to the point, rarely consisting of more than a few words.

Sitting forward again, he sighs and stands, stretching, then begins doing pushups, a regiment he had always done daily, but here, did several times a day to kill the boredom. He made no response to the music idea, and all that could be heard from the lean close was his quiet mumbling as he counted off his reps.

Topic: Star Wars: A Clone's Duty
Subject: Intro

Hodges sat in a far off chair from the others, cleaning his rifle for the hundreth time. The smaller, leaner clone wearing only his armored pants, his chest guard and helmet discarded on a nearby table.
He was not happy about this assignment, and though they had been here a short time, the knowledge of future boredom seemed to intensify it. They were in the middle of nowhere, assured it was an important assignment... The fighter considered if he had done something wrong. This had to be punishment...

But as usual, he remained silent and stoic, accepting his orders without question. His place was to serve. And he would fulfill his purpose, simply because he could hope for nothing else.

He considers the men around him, knowing them a bit from the other troopers, and trusted them well enough. He wondered if they weren't better off... Perhaps better they wouldnt be in the middle of the action... They would not die here, on this monotonous assignment. They would not have to dodge mortar rounds and blaster bolts...

Yet Hodges felt bothered. He had seen little battle after the constant training sims, and was ready for action. To play his part in the war.

He shakes his head, laying his again-cleaned weapon down and leans back with a sigh, resting his hands behind his head and closing his eyes, imagining the epic and terrifying battles they would face in the future....

Desrik wanders through the crowd, gently pushing folks out of his way to allow him a better view of the haggard woman, barely hearing her as she mumbles "Robbers..."

The Mercenary's heart immediately rose, and his mind went off, thinking of the possible rewards of destroying them. He was barely aware of his new wizard friend.... whom he could not recall the name of for some reason.... as the small man cried out pledges of heroics.

“Desrik! Bailox! Come on there is an adventure to be had!” He stood waving them over before turning his attention back to the crowd. “Will anyone else join us to rid Graffton of these pests?”

Desrik looks at Bailox briefly, wondering what the warrior would choose.
"Sheems we have found ush a fight, me friend." He slurres, silently cursing his inebriation. Adjusting his large hat, he steps forward.
"I will go. This village has been good to me, and I shall return the favor."

Sellikus nods, patting the Tapien's knee calmly.
"I believe you, my pet." He assures in his thick accent, and sheathes his knife. Standing up, he hands the comm back to the captured foe.
"Call your commander. Reportin and tell him all is normal, and you've seen no hostile movement whatsoever." he bids the fearful being, drawing his Pistol as he glances at the new troopers suspiciously.

((Assuming his order is followed))
As the Tapien opens up the link, and begins to speak, The Kiffar Mercenary blasts three holes into it's chest, wanting it's superiors to hear. His forth shot, delayed until the Tapien's life fades, blasts the comm link.

I would reccomend, depending on your tastes, to either check out the new Star Wars game that is a bit short of ppl, a FFD20 game that seems promising, or anything else you happen to see in the recruitment thread. You picked a good time to join,. as most of us innmates are coming back out of the winter's inactivity.

Look forward to see what you end up playing.

"...and there he wash, running full shpeed toward me, shword raished...sho I threw a goat at him!" Bailox concludes, followed by a roar of laughter that Desrik matched.

“Excuse me, sorry to interrupt but do you mind if I take a seat. You see I am new to this... environment and you two seem jolly enough fellows. My name is Elberon, by the way.”

Desrik looks up to the robed figure at his table, a moment of suspicion cross his mind before fading. He had always hated seeing their kind on the battlefield, flinging fire and worse... But he supposed there would be none of that here...

"Met and well hail, friend! Indeed, have a join and seat us!" Bailox slurred merrily "Your pardon, friend, we've aled a bit of drunk... Aye. Sit. Drink." He pointed at himself. "Bailox." He then pointed at Desrik. "Desrik. And Desrik."

The small mercenary chuckles, and nods to the Wizard, bringing his cup to his lips and saying nothing.

Elberon nervously lowered himself onto the stool and said,

“It has been quite a day and I find myself quite parched. What drinks does a place so... haughty as this serve?”

Bailox roared yet again with laughter. "Barmaid!" he bellowed. "Ale for my lizard friend! Er, whistle! WIZARD! Bah!" The barmaid was almost collapsing in laughter as she brought another cup of ale.
