Seeing his companions return Pavel calls out, "Did you get 'im?"

Pavel continued to scan the area, sure that there were more goblins about.

Subject: Running a domain D&D 1ed

I'm running a game (3.5ed) where the character are starting to set up a domain... the problem is that I don't really like system for running a domain in the 3.5 system... at least as far as the ones I know (stronghold builders guide).

My Dad said that 1ed had a good system for running domains, and my searches haven't yielded anything.

I was hoping that someone here might be able to enlighten me to what the rules from 1st ed are... or better yet have a PDF/doument of the rules.

The goblin goes charging off into the forest, my compatriots in hot pursuit.

Pavel turns and looks around the area opposite the fleeing goblin. Though not the brightest of creatures, goblins are one for traps... and what better way to steal the goods than to lure the guards away.

OOC: Pavel stays on the cart listening to what his comrades are doing, but keeps his eyes roving in case there are others coming, cross bow at the ready.
Roll: d20 = 10 (for a perception/spot check)

So if I'm following everything correctly, I'm up next to post...

And if I'm reading the story right, everyone has engaged the goblins, and is focused on the fleeing goblin...

Correct?

Having shot his cross bow, Pavel quickly reloads and takes aim at an attacker.

Oaskarr says, "Listen, now. Might want to put them blades away, hey?"

Hearing Oskarr's ultimatum, Pavel holds fire waiting for the response of the goblins. (Keeps the crossbow trained on the enemy.)

As we came around the bend, there was something large laying in the road.

"Slow the cart," Oskarr said as he jumped down.

Pavel did as instructed, and when the wagon came to a halt stood up. His eyes roved the area, crossbow at the ready, covering Oskarr as he went ahead.
"What do you see Oskarr?"

How often, and in what order are we expected to post?

Not for the first time Pavel was sitting in the drivers seat of a wagon of supplies, though since attaining his commission it had been some time.

Pavel said to the dwarven cleric beside him, "So Oskarr... You were in the military I understand?"
Though Pavel was talking to the dwarf, his eyes were roaming the countryside, and his hand was resting on his crossbow.

((OOC: I hope that is alright placing Oskarr beside me))

I have no experience with 5ed, but my experience with 3.5, 3, 2, and other RPGs suggests that yes having either a cleric or druid is a must.
And unless they changed it significantly arcane spellcasters can't cast healing spells.

Perhaps you could have the group (after finding out about the gates) could go on a quest to find the specific ape which opened the gate, and/or find a specific item to be able to disrupt the gate.
If it is a specific item perhaps make it a religious artifact, which would then prevent future gates from being used in this fashion.

*Markus, the large four armed human, walks into the room. He props his pole-arm in the corner by the coat rack, where he places his hat. When he turns and takes a seat, still almost as tall sitting as many people standing.*
In a coarse though refined voice he speaks, "Fellow members of the guild. I've had a thought. Instead of, or perhaps in addition to, trying to arrange a time when we can all be online and partaking in ale and adventure... We could start a free-form game, so that we can post when able.
Tia! My dear girl, an ale please."
*He tosses her a Shadowdalian Gold piece.*

I mush apologize all.

I've been wanting to play, but I have been so swamped with work, and writing my books, not to mention family life, that I just haven't had any time to play, or even lurk the Inn. :/

As soon as I have some time though, rest assured that I'll be back.
