NOW HEAR THIS!

Due to some real life issues - Chessicfayth has lost his job, and was going to have to take an undefined leave of absence from the game - we are making a change to the roster.

RDI legend Reralae has recently returned to us, and she is interested in gaming again.  I've had a couple of players advocate to me to let her into the game.

I don't want some messy switch.  So here is what will happen:

I am retconning reality.  Rainminainen the ranger was never part of the party, never part of the mission.  You have never met this fellow.

Instead, the role of party ranger will now be filled by Isilmewen of House Mithvanryl.

After today's regular game post, I will do a find/replace in the database to swap the names and pronouns out.  We will potentially go back and edit posts to allow for Isilmewen's personality to be better represented.

I have already changed the active player roster itelf, giving Rerale the rights to post to the game.  Effective immeidately, she will join the party.  Again, this is a retcon, so we don't need a round of player posts handling this new character - it's not a new character.  It's the one that we always had.

I just SQUEEEEEEEEED myself!

Well, not just... I got a PM from Rer, this morning about her potentially joining so, technically, I squeed myself then.

Welcome home, Butterfly!

Thank you for having me

Hi

I'm still in process of finalizing the backstory draft, and a few other tidbits. In the meantime, here's a short bit about Isilmewen.

She's a Sylvari ranger with hair like wildfire, frequently wearing a brooch of a ring of silver stars to fasten her cloak with. She isn't one to hide her emotions, if anything seems almost unable to, and is particularly prone to laughter at times.

Isilmewen can be observed paying special respects for Shinara, never asking for favor, but in everyday ways as observing the ways both fortune and misfortune unfold. In her mind, the dance of fortune and misfortune is as much part of nature as the forests and the rivers; another natural flow in the world to which all ascribe to.

Needless to say, she acts far younger than her age would suggest, even for a Silvari.

I'll be putting together the final draft of her backstory in a bit

Daaahling

The only thing I love more than a Shinara follower is one of her Laughing Maidens, practicing or otherwise  Looking forward to having Rosariel meet another nature-enthusiast on their journey. Can never have too many of those around.

Speaking of Laughing Maidens...

...and given the fact that Rer and I have agreed that the familiarity/friendship between the party's thief and ranger will be upheld, I don't think that the "Old Man" nickname that Dak pinned on Rain is going to hold up. Sooooo, for a little retcon where that's concerned, Dak will be refering to Isilmewen as "Lala" more often than not. "Lala" (Laugh) being a foreshortening of "Lalaienwen" (Laughing Maiden).

Oh right

Given the first full group meeting was at a formal dinner, during that scene Isilmewen was garbed in a lovely red dress. Not too fancy by the standards of Lords and Ladies, as it was a dress more designed more for ease of movement than formality. When not expecting trouble and in the city, Isilmewen tends to wear that dress, accentuated with her star circle brooch used to hold a sash and satchel.

Out in the wilds and wilderness, by comparison, Isilmewen wears very practical attire - her armor, and deep green cloak in particular, which still accentuate her warm, violet eyes.
