"We can't have that." Rose's voice was firm.

"He's a tester, therefore he can't have ANY blood."

"Oh my god...I know...it's so obvious. He works with Cauldwell right? Well why else would he want a blood sample? I must be...a...hybrid...GOD DAMNIT! Travis pounded Seths desk so hard his PC jumped and he cracked the hard oak. "Why else would he want my blood...he's got to be trying to smooth talk me into giving him the recipie for a super soldier. That means...I'm what they are trying to create...we have to find my weakness Rose...if we do, maybe we can counter their soldiers if they manage to engineer them!"

Travis was angry. He was angry at his parents, Cauldwell, Dominic, the Director...and himself.

He didnt deserve Rose. He was filth. He couldt touch her without hurting her. He was a Lycan, and it was possible he could kill her without knowing it.

"Rose. I dont know what this...transformation...will do to me. I'm worreid about your saftey..all of you."

"Don't worry about my safety Travis. I love you no matter what."

She hugged him, ignoring her boy's impulse to pull away. Her gentics could get over it.

Travis felt the pain of having a Vampire touch him, but he flet the sof security of being held by one of his own kind at the smae time. He didnt embrace her hug, but he did not fight it.

He figured she understood his award position. Travis pulled a pistol out of his oversized pants and tossed it on the desk, then he shed the oversized clothes he wearing, until he had nothing but a T-shirt and Shorts on. He wondered.

"Since I'm part Lycan, can I turn into an animal?"

"Yes." Max answered before Rose could.

Seth was completely and totally startled. Everything had happened so fast. He was looking for the super soldier and it was right in front of him. "Uhmmm...guys. Can the Lycan gene remain dormant? If it could, Travis could've had one Lycan ancestor 500 years back, and the gene have just been reccessive."

Travis turned around and shook his head.

"Ive done reasearch. The Lyconic Gene is a recessive Genotype. Its not likley that anyone in my family could have been a Lycan, or had the a Homozygous Lyconic Ressesive Genotype. That would mean they would have the be pure bred. Its just like the Vampirism Genotype...reccesive...besides, none of my ancestors had more than two offspring at a time. That cuts the chance of getting the Lyconic Genotype to somewhere around three percent.."

Travis wondered what animal he could turn into. He didnt know how to tranform...

"Noone would have to be homogenous. If even one side had the trait, then human would have been dominant. so say, if your father was Hh, and your mother was HH, then eventually, Hh would have been on the rectangle. Which could be you."

"If I was Hh, that would still mean I would be Human dominant. If you didnt notice, Mendels reaserch states that, no matter what the recessive gene is, it cannot overpower the Dominant trait. Therefore, regarless if I was Hh, Human would still be Dominant, nullyfying the Lycan or Vampire gene. Simple science."

Travis strained to transform into an animal. It didnt work like Vampire magic..odd...



(And you guys though i didnt know what I was talking about! HAH!)

"remember? To mix the blood, you can't be a vamp or Lycan. You weren't a lycan, so the vamp blood didn't poison you. But the gene was still there. So it could work."

"Thats what I'm suggesting. Maybe earlier scientists found out how to mix the two. Then, maybe they injected me by some twist of fate. Its possible nothing happened, so they scrapped that idea and though the combination was a failure. It's quite possible that they simply did not inject me with enough bood from one type of species to cause a mutation in my DNA sequnce. Your may be right, but I dont think thats probabale."

"Guys, I've got a plan. I'm gonna go with Travis. They will probably refuse a Vampire, and I've got experience. I'll make sure nothing happens. Is that okay?"

"That sounds okay." Rose sounded worried.

She looked away from the group.

"I started this trouble by biting Travis. I...need some time alone guys. I'll be around. Just call and I will appear."

Without another word, she walked away and dissapeared.
She headed for the only person who truly knew her: Her brother's wife, Careni.

Seth watched after her, worried. This wasn't a good time to have the group start falling apart. But, it wasn't to be helped. They had a fight ahead of them. "Travis. One thing. Once we find out what information you need, are we going to take our Max?"

Max sighed.

"Well, I guess that's that. I'll stay here or go. But I'm following you Seth." She smiled apoligetically.

"You lost some trust Travis. Sorry."
