She sighed.

"Travis... I let Rose's family take her..."

Seth looked at Travis. He was praying that he wouldn't blame it on Max. There wasn't anything she could to prevent a group of vampires from taking their daughter.

He looked up and glared at Max for a long while. His face showed almost no emotion, only a trace of anger, and sheer fear marked the lines on his face.

He stood up and raised his hand, and he saw Seth finger his gun. In rage he drew his hand across a nearbye table and recklessly flung an enitre shelf worth of his favorite novels against the far wall.

Max jumped and whimpered.

"You know as well as I do that there was nothing any of us could've done. Aren't they the oldest vampire family around? They could probably easily kill either of us. Look travis, we'll find a way to get her back. And maybe she'll be able to help you regain some of your control back."

He almost wanted to comfort Max, but he knew Seth wouldn't let him. He was a monster, a beast...and he lost his own beauty...and his own soul.

"It's my fault..."

Seth swallowed his pride. "This is probably something for the two of you to talk about." Seth kissed Max, and walked out and down to his office, to his guns. They never tricked him. He put on some soft music, and leaned back, taking comfort in all the weaponry around him.

Travis huffed.

"I have nothing to say, but it's not because I blame you." He left and founf his way over to his sons room, leaving Max alone in his room.

Max frowned and went to Seth. She paused behind him. "Hey..."

"Hey. What's up?" Seth stood up, offering his chair to her. He had found his old brace, and was wearing it again. Would his knee ever stop being injured?

She stayed standing. "Nothing much."

Seth nodded. "good, good. So...is this lycan thing new? Or you just never advertise it?"

"I was born this way." She smirked. "Problem?"

"Nah, none that I see. Just a bit of the shock, as I just realized I am the only human in this entire place now. It's actually rather neat. Only downside, I'm the only one that knows I'm dying eventually, no matter what." He leaned on his desk. "So, how do you feel now? Better physically?"
