Enjoyed the Update Edit Cap

Had a couple people contact me wanting to know if I was okay (tornadoes struck the Tulsa area) and I am fine as none came near where I live.

Interest

Hey Brom, I remember the cyberpunk game you ran long ago and would be interested if you still have a slot open.

I'm glad you're OK!

Tornadoes are crazy! I'm glad you were missed, Hammer.

I liked the update, CAPTIN.

Looking forward to your post, Giddy.

Vesper, I'm sure everyone would welcome you to the show. They could use either an additional Solo or a Techie.

Open spot

Is it still possible to join the game? I am completely new to online rpg, since my friends are not into rpg'. If this game is too technical/hard for newbies just tell me, and I'll be glad to give the spot to someone more experience

Oxxia

I would say that creating a character is a bit tricky, but playing one is not.

Lucky for you, I can help you create the character. All you need to do in the games is tell us what your character is doing... Brom handles all the rules and dice rolling. Easy-peasy.

Brom, we got space for one more meatbag, right?

Vesper and Oxxia

I for one would gladly welcome the both of you to join our group!

[This is my first time playing Cyberpunk]

According to the original list that Brom posted, there is still room for another Solo and a Techie.

Sharpshooter

Couldn't find a sniper type rifle anywhere. And are there suppressors? Or what kind of stuff would I need for like a techie?

And no, not any exp with making cyberpunk chars but figuring it out

We've got the room. The Body Bank is open 24/7.

I appreciate your help with the Character creation, Ayrn. It takes a little less pressure off of me.

We take fresh meat as well as nicely aged Kobe.

Vesper, a Techie is a mechanic, computer technician, locksmith, gunsmith, etc. Cyberpunk is a game filled with technology and mechanical gadgets, guns and cyberware. If a Choomba gets shot in the meat, the Medtech handles it. If a Choomba gets shot in the metal, a techie takes care of it.that's the generalization... heavy generalization.

The character would likely have a couple of guns (what Edgerunner in their right mind wouldn't) but his gear would be more likely filled with things like tools, techscanner, extra components for equipment, and all the cool tech gadgets. Being a locksmith and an electronic locksmith would probably come in handy much the same way a thief comes in handy in D&D.

As for a sniper rifle; there are plenty. Just look in the 2020 Reference Book. There's also supressors. That's in the same book (as are gun customizations).

No worries...

So, Vesper and Oxxia, I can at least help you get started in generating a character. Send me a private message or email me at [email protected].

I would say that this version of Cyberpunk (as beginners at least) makes it pretty easy to build characters that can be a bit flexible.

So, let me know what you'd like to play and I'll sent you some questions to go from there.

Brom, I'll probably send them to you to get equipped.

Peace,
Ayrn

Creation points

So I rolled 102 creation points. Thats for stats, skills, and perks right? All pulled from the same pool?

Yep

You got it.... with this note:

Stats are bought on a 1 to 1 basis.
Perks cost their listed price
Talents cost 3 CP each
And skills grow in cost

SKILL LEVEL = COST
Level 1 = 1 CP
Level 2 = 3 CP
Level 3 = 6 CP
Level 4 = 10 CP
Level 5 = 15 CP
Level 6 = 21 CP

Skills

What would be a good starting point for our skills for beginning character level? Looking at my points and the skills I'm looking at, it doesn't look like it is going to be very high.

And where it has a +x to describe us being able to do something; is that the skill level plus the ability added or just the skill level itself?

Looking at building a techie

Using skills

When using skills, it usually is:

Skill Level + Associated Stat +1d10.

So, let's say I had a REFLEX of 9, and a Handgun skill level of 4, I'd be looking at 4+9+1d10 when using the skill.

In addition, sometimes you might have some other modifiers from perks, talents, equipment or cyberwear that might be added in as well. (for instance, if you had a smartgun, you would add another +2.)
