"I...I...ummm"

He wasn't sure what to say.

"Travis..."

She looked at him helplessly.

He moved to her and held her gently. She cried on his shoulder.

"I'm so sorry..."

"I hate this world."

Rose clung to him as though he were the only thing keeping her alive.

"No...don't say that...don't ever say that..."

If she hated this world, then she hated him as well.

"I love you Travis. At least you'll never betray me."

"No...I'd never hurt you...ever..."

He held her tighter. She was shaking.

Rose didn't reply.

He squeezed her a little more tightly. He couldn't live without her. He needed her.

She hugged him back. "Travis..."

Seth woke up confused. He was sitting, tied to a chair, completely naked. And there was a grown man standing in front of him. The hell....

The man was dangling a sharpened hook. He swung it in slow arcs. "Now, if you don't tell us what we want to know, we will make sure this rips through every part of your body."

Seth struggled against the chair. His triceps groaned as he pulled against the chair, lean muscle working as hard as he could through exhaustion. His whole body hurt from the impact with the tree, and this man was threatening him.

He was screwed. He sighed, and accepted his fate. Or at least, that's what the Lycan thought.

He'd noticed it earlier. Explosives, all around, he was guessing the bring down the place to conceal any evidence or information this place had. He had also found a wire leading to a section of c4 on the side. He waiting until the Lycan walked in the direction and hooked his toes around the wire and jerked. He then threw himself over the prepare for the blast.

Nothing happened.

Max groaned in pain, but she managed to push herself into a sitting position. her vision was blurred, but at least she was alive.

Seth grunted with effort as he tried to scoot himself across the ground towards where his clothes lay in a pile. The Lycan got to him first.

"You aren't the first person to try that trick. It's funny to watch you guys try."

Seth knew his fate. "Man, I'm screwed."

He could only hope Rose, Travis and...Max got here quick enough.

Max looked around with unfocused eyes.

"S-Seth left... I... can't smell... him..."

She stood up shakily.

"Going to... find him..."

The Lycan approached on Seth. As he grunted to scoot the chair away, the Lycan pulled out a gun.

"I don't care what you know. You're going to die here."

Seth heard two shots, and his blood was splattered on the floor underneath him. It ran quickly from his stomach, where both bullets entered, and he was screaming in agony. The Lycan took another step forward.

"Do you want to die, boy?"
