Donald walked into the bathroom a little later, holding a long case, made completely of redwood.
"Okay, in my family, it's tradition to receive a musical instrument as a coming of age gift. And as of now, I'm adopting you as my little brother. And if you touch drugs, I'll beat you."
He opened it, and the most beautiful acoustic guitar sat inside it. It was made out of maple, with the neck decorated with ivy. "I'll teach how to play if you want. By the way, I'm a big gift giver. And for you, miss Dawn, this one's for you."
He pulled a ring out of his pocket, made out the same wood as the guitar case. The same ivy pattern wrapped all the way around.

Donald was smoking, yet again, talking to Edward. They were telling stories of their hometowns, and just sharing general information. He was absently strumming his guitar, and trees behind him were shaping themselves. Adrian needed a coming of age gift.

Seth was glad he took it. Whether it ever got used or not, it would be fine. He also had another gift. One with more sentimental value...
After doing research online, he found a picture of Travis, holding a young child. He noticed that picture hadn't been anywhere in the room. He pulled it out from under the box and handed it to him. On the back was an engraving.
"To the Dad of the group, and the family man."
Seth grinned, because he also thought up that quote.

"Well, I guess now I've paid you for that ivory handled pistol. Now look, we have some preparations. We're getting Rose back. Hang on."
He disappeared for a second, and came back out with a long box.
"Special ordered, just for you. The brand new rifle, M-k23n. Collapsible stock, laser sight attachment, and a double banded chainsaw. Free for you, if you want it."

Donald picked him up.
"Look at you, you handsome devil."
Donald stood beside him in the mirror. Black and white hair next to sandy blonde. Both long, and both with facial hair.
"Man, I would say we could be twins, but we look nothing alike."
He patted Adrian on the shoulder, and walked out, leaving him and Dawn to talk.

"You can help this fight far more than I can. I'm a human with a gimped leg. Those people out there need you. Remember what it's like to be a soldier! But your life is your own. If you do this, I won't stop you anymore. There's a gun to do it with. But remember. People have most likely died for you. We all have put our lives on the line repeatedly for you. You're about to make me regret doing that."

Seth painfully sat up. The brace on his knee had been bent, crooking his knee and causing more flesh blood to come to the surface. He left his gun laying on the floor, and he propped himself against a wall.
"Nothing's ever as bad as it seems. I never told you guys this, but there's a reason I didn't spend all 4 years in the service. I'm sure you've gathered this from our research on Cauldwell, but my platoon was attacked by that giant spider I killed saving your ass. I may have told you, I can't remember. Me and a few others survived. How do you think I felt? Captain goes down with his ship, but yet I had to explain to the parents on 18 and 19 year old kids why their child wouldn't be coming back. I watched them cry. They all blamed me. But I didn't give up the fight. And neither will you. Suicide is the easy way out, and I know damn well you aren't a coward."

"Wake up Adrian!" He then reared back, and slapped the living crap out of him.
He saw the red handprint forming on his cheek, and hoped that would wake him up but not make him angry.

Seth managed to get that our with what little breath he had. Pulling out his own gun that he retrieved from Max's desk, Seth fired twice, one round blowing the slide off Travis' gun, making it worthless. He didn't think he could actually do that.
Seth stood up shakily.
"What's gotten into you? Don't you care enough about Rose to look for her? Don't you care enough about your son to be here for him now? What do you think will happen to him if you do this? Stop acting like a child!"

After Donald played another song, he noticed something. Adrian was missing. Maybe he just went into a spot where he could be alone and think. Seemed logical to him. A lot had happened lately. Donald looked at everybody and said "Hang on guys, I gotta go piss."
As he entered the restroom, he saw Adrian laying on the floor, convulsing violently.
"S**T!" He ran over, trying to calm him down. He couldn't get the seizure to stop, and he couldn't get a firm grip to carry him due to his thrashing around.
He hoped somebody would hear him yelling.

Seth opened the door as Travis was praying. He ran forward, as fast as he could, and slapped the gun away from Travis' hand, putting him on the ground with a swift shove, and putting his foot over his wrist.
"What the hell!"
He yelled as loud as he could, bearing down on his wrist. He kicked the gun away with his other foot, and picked it up.
"What has gotten into everybody?"

When she mentioned he needed to instruct her how to shoot, his eyes lit up. Now he could do that.
"Alright. Grip it firm, with your hand directly under this groove right here. If you don't hold it there, it'll kick like a damn mule right out of your hands. Alright. This switch on the slide is the safety. I'd recommend turning it on when you don't need the gun so you don't shoot yourself in the leg. The button by the trigger is the magazine release." He pushed it so she could see how to reload it. "Alright. Keep your eyes away from the gap in the slide here. It ejects the casing and some really hot gas. They will burn you."
That was his crash course. He slumped a zombie body against a wall to let her get some target practice. Never hurt to make sure it was dead anyways.
