Efferi started walking alongside the Raptoran. "Very true. A man like him shouldn't ever be kept waiting."
Efferi's obvious disregard for royalty came through in the sarcasm in his voice. Nevertheless, they began their walk towards the castle.
"So I don't know if it was me not paying attention or not, but I don't think I ever caught your name. Care to fill me in?"

Efferi took a bite of his apple as he watched the Raptoran walking towards his way. He looked interesting, maybe he could get some conversation out of the man. He stood up and strode over to where the Raptoran was walking to.
"You would be the Raptoran selected by the king, correct?"

After Efferi's breif dialogue with his Headmaster, he walked out of the audience hall with even less doubt than he had before. As his small frame moved up the stairs to collect his supplies, he pondered. What wasn't being told to him?
Efferi grabbed his padded armor from a spot he had under the floor to hide his valuables. His hand crossbow followed shortly. As he grabbed the backpack off the bed, he opened it to make sure all he needed was there. Sunrods, theives tools, food...check. He even loaded the extra fortnight in there, just in case.
Okay, so I have three weeks of food, and most of my utensils.
After loading his caltrops and bedroll, he donned his quiver with extra bolts. Feeling prepared, he strapped on his shortsword and headed out the guild.
He was walking around the City, trying to get a feel for his armor. He pulled an apple out of his pack, and began munching on it. As he strolled through the park, he began his favorite activity: people watching.
((OOC: if anyone wants to RP with me, I'm cool with it.))

As the short Halfling stepped out of the council chambers, he squinted in the rays of sunshine. Champa had that bright coastal sun which could always blind someone who had just been inside. He walked down the street market, and looked in all the various vendors, looking for anything crossed his eye. He was wearing a simple travelers outfit at the moment, and he wore his shortsword at his side. He figured this whole thing might take a little while, so he decided to purchase a fortnight's worth of meals. The shopkeeper, an older human, shrugged at him. "You know, we aren't allowed to sell you fish anymore? Only salted pork. I hear the King is hiring a small force to try to solve our problems. We pray they succeed, eh?" Efferi nodded to him, paid for his meals, though they were poor in quality. As he turned on his heel to leave, he laughed to himself. It was nice to hear himself in the rumor mill.
As he arrived at the Umbra guild house, he walked to the audience hall. "I seek an audience, good sirs." The door opens, and Efferi Buckold waltzed in.

A human was running as fast as he could through the people, trying to make it to a certain tavern near first tower. He kept apologizing to people he bumped into, and he finally got through the crowd and broke off down the path the the Inn in question. As he bursted through the door, all the patrons turned to stare at the human male gasping for breath with his hands on this knees. He felt light headed so he sat down. When the serving lady asked him if he'd like anything he told her a water. She dissappeared for a few minutes and then came back with his water, and he walked up to the actual bar. "Yeah, I heard recruiting was going on here. Am I late or can I still do that?" As he spoke, he noticed the man talking to the orc and hobgoblin, and he looked slightly strange to the human.
He carried his backpack with him, and his armor was in that. He did, however, have his longsword strapped to his belt. His hair was dirty blonde, and it hung down to his shoulders. He also had dark brown eyes that seemed as if they burned with conviction.

Topic: So who was your first? Subject: hmmmmmm
My first swing at DND was prolly 5 years ago, I was in 7th grade. my aunt bought me a beginners box set, thinking I wouldn't ever stick with it. Well, me and my friends played those premade for a little while, and then we bought the PHB, DMG, Monster manual 1&2, and the arms and equipment guide, all 3.5. I made a gnome fighter who's name I can't remember. He was the leader of a criminal syndicate, and my friend had a gnome rogue. So I handled the big stuff, and he found out information for me. I remember we made a world, it had different planes. I remember being killed in Ifre, our fire plane which we did name after Ifrit, by a red dragon. I was still 1st level, and the DM basically told me the Dragon may as well have blinked and I would've died, but in reality he just flicked me with a claw.
Fun times, and I find bits of pieces of those world notes every now and then. We butchered the rules horribly, I konw now, but we still had fun with it.
I've gotten back up with those friends, and they are starting a table top game now, which I plan to play.

The best I can tell you is that some people enjoy an rp. They worked to get their character to how they want it, and the best we, as other players, can do is respect their wishes. The way I see it, you and the other involved player can either resolve the conversation as close to adults as possible and talk it over (I say as close as possible because we can't exactly do it in person), or cease that game. But maybe that's just my opinion.
I hope this doesn't chase you away from here. Every gamer here is valued, and none of us hope to see you go away.
And even if you do leave, the doors to the inn will be open for you if you chose to return.

How would I calculate hit die for 4th level? Would I figure out what it would be at first level and just work my way up, or is there a different way?
EDIT: Did some research, found where Jozan said about hp. It's basicaly you can't roll under half of your hd

Making a character with gods and spells is so much different to me then a basic rogue. But I needed to cross that bridge at some point in time.
Also, if all goes well, you'll have the completed character in soon.
One last question...He'll use all the spells that are in the PHB, correct?

I made a halfling rogue not too long ago, but I didn't have to work out spells and that just traditional stuff.
I won't say no to your offer, but if you find yourself busy of just not wanting, no foul there. I could probably look at a base character example and figure out where to go from there.

Topic: Fractured Shards: An Eberron game Q&A Subject: a few small questions
While I'm making my character, making him to a certain level, is it just like making a first level, except I'm capable of more? Like, I have the special abilities of my my class at up to that level and whatnot? Also, how are we generating abilities? Is there a certain point buy or roll and modify?
