Topic: Guns and Fangs
Subject: Tomorrow

Seth decided he would ask Max tomorrow. He ripped a part of his shirt off, and used it as a bandage for his knee. He grimaced, as the contact hurt, and leaned against the wall to support him on his walk back to the office. He threw his M8 on the table, and stumbled to his couch that served as a bed. He put his head down, and immediately fell into a restless sleep.

"I don't have the experience you have in this battlefield, but I have made it through one war. Men with good heads generally make it through. I got reckless, didn't use a silencer. Thus I got beat down. Now, I'm gonna stay wherever you drop me off, cause I can't walk too well right now, and you go to your room and get some rest. Is there a surgeon or anything that can take this bullet out? The damn thing didn't pass through"

Seth grabbed her by the wrist. "He told me to tell you something, but he never finished. You were already gone, but it sounded like he was gonna say a goodbye. Look, you may know him better than me, but he seems to be a capable fighter, and he's got a sensible head on his shoulders. I'm almost positive he'll be back"

Seth's face went from jovial to somber. "Who knows. He isn't that sure. I certainly do hope he comes back. But as for right now, our mission was accomplished. We were support for you two. I hope he got just as lucky as I did."

Seth and Rose chatted the entire time back, and he decided he liked her. She was a good person. He also felt good about himself. He was just a Human. He didn't have any special racial skills or enhancements, yet he was able to bring down three of those beasts. He laughed to himself as he thought "I've still got it." He hoped his leg would heal quick so that he could start training himself and become an asset to the group here.

"Not so much carry, but at least support my left side." Seth grimaced as Rose helped him to his feet, and he felt the blood running down his leg. "Maybe it was good I came. You two might've been screwed back there without my support. Even though I pulled them off of you and put them hot on my trail." He made sure to bring his M8 and all the empty clips with him so he could fix his gun and reload the mags. "I'm guessing a bunch of loud guns helped lead you here?"

Within 10 minutes, the Lycans located Seth. He lay behind the counter, he M8 thrown aside, jammed, and his .45 ringing out as the Lycans advanced. 3 Lycans lay dead, 2 more were approaching. He took a bullet to the knee, so he couldn't stand to run. He felt like giving up, and shooting himself before suffering whatever horrible death the Lycans would give him.

Seth had lost track of them, so the best he could do was hope they were safe. He had to leave before the Lycans located his vantage point. After running a short while, he made his way inside an abandoned store. He turned the counter into a fortified position he might be able to hold for a little bit.

Seth had hoped he saved his two friends. His own outlook was a bit bleak, however.

He couldn't handle it. He had lost 17 good men to these beasts, he couldn't just sit and watch these two die. When Seth watched max duck, he pulled the trigger of his M8 in two controlled bursts. A few bullets pounded the Lycan in the chest, buying Max some time.

Seth departed in a hurry. He had the M8 in hand, and he was dashing through the city. The yells and gunshots made it easy for him to find them. As he sat in his vantage point, he saw the Lycans regrouping, but it seemed their numbers had almost doubled. Seth knew this could be a problem. They were spread out, hidden but getting in a surrounding position of Max and Rose. Seth decided to play sniper, and hope those two wouldn't notice his support during the inevitable conflict.

Seth looked at Travis. "I'll do it. Just tell me the destination, and I'll be prepared." He grabbed his M8, and donned the belt. The shotgun can stay home. He checked his leg holster to make sure his 1911 was secure, and then he looked at Travis, ready to go.

Seth whooped when Rose left. He grabbed some gear he had acquired over the years. He grabbed a Colt 1911 .45 out of his desk, loaded a magazine, and held it up. The gun metal felt cool to the palm of his hand. He liked it. he put six clips into the matching spot on his belt. He grabbed a satchel for everyone, which had two fragmentation grenades loaded with silver shrapnel. He then picked up one of his beauties. a 500 Tactical 12 guage, pump action shotgun with an 8 round magazine. He grabbed 24 shells.

After his equipment was readied, he put them aside. It was time for him to focus on his real business. He opened up his laptop to email the owner of the ammunition plant and ordered more bullets. He supplied silver, so the factory only charged him labor. He was a lucky businessman.

He then sat back. He knew the others should be in here soon, so he sat back and waited.

Seth laughed. He handed her a backpack. "Here. This bag has 15 high capacity mags of 18 9mm parabellum rounds. So, in this bag, you have 270 rounds. Do you think that's enough for now? Remember, you guys are the only ones that get this stuff for free. Oh, and by the way, I'm tired of HQ. Next times you guys are out, care to bring along an old soldier?"

"Don't worry, rose. I'll treat it as if it were my own kid." He carefully inspected the engravings on the side. "I never thought I'd have to hire out an entire factory to produce this many silver bullets. But I must say, it's turned out to be quite profitable. But anyways, you're gun takes 9 mm parabellum rounds. How many clips do you want?"

Seth fell backwards out of his chair. He shook the grogginess out of his limbs for a minute, and looked to see Rose laughing. "Hey, that wasn't funny! But alright. What size ammo do you need, and what gun?"

After everyone had went to bed, Seth sighed, and went back to his office. if people needed him or his company, they would know where to find him. He sat back down and began to load more magazines. As he did, his mind went back to his last day in the USMC.

He remembered laughing at a joke Lance Corporal Thompson made, then hearing a blood curdling scream. A camel spider had lunged from a roof, taking down Msgt. Davis and ripping the throat out of him. Both Seth and Thompson put a clip of their standard issue M468's into the spider, but it jumped away. It was incredibly fast, but the scream of Pvt. Henson made Seth turn around and the blood drain from his face. There were 7 of these hyped up spiders. All he remembers after that is the screams of dying marines drowning out the orders he was shouting. The spiders killed 17 men, and left 8 remaining. He found out later these were Lycanthropes, men who had supernatural abilities. Werewolves, essentially.

The screams of those soldiers acted as a lullaby, and he fell asleep with a half loaded magazine in his hand.

Seth was somewhat new to this group. They hired him on for his military combat experience and his connections to firearms and ammunition. In his office, guns lined the walls everywhere. Anything from AK-47 Kalishnakov's to the AR-15. He even had one M1 Garand.

in the back corner was his desk. Inside the drawers is where the ammunition was kept. He had a dresser with ammo seperated by size on the other side. He was loading up .45 caliber handgun magazines when the party returned. He stood up from his chair, shut the laptop that served as his filing system, and put his prized MK .23 into his leg holster, and strode out to meet everyone.

"Mostly just guarding the clanhome from various insurgents. I showed more prowess with an ax than with a smiths hammer, so when we received the letter from Master Gann, I was the one sent to make sure Clan Stonesunder's influence was in the work." Kannizan looked at Jethro. He looked stoic, but almost like he was trying to hide something. "So how's your head this morning, little buddy?"

Bezmir saw the outlines of his friends in the plain, and he started running in that direction. His heels felt as if they were bruised, and he winced every time they slammed into the hard ground.

He had stuck the short blade into his boot, and was running with the hand crossbow in his right hand. he had a pouch which improvised a quiver for the short bolts on his right side also, so he could easily reach his left hand over to reload.

When he got close, he called out to his friends, hoping they would hear him. He also hoped nothing else would.

Kannizan mounted his pony after checking all his gear was properly packed in and his shield was near his reach. He adjusted his battleaxe so that the blade wouldn't hit the pony and hurt it. After being spurred, the pony set into a trot that brought Kannizan behind the half orc. He was grumbling about how they weren't taking the mountain, but oh well. He was the only dwarf, after all.

"Personally, I hope we don't see much excitement at all on the way there. Save our strength for the journey and for the battles ahead. You've got good muscles. Save them so they'll be of more use to us later." The Dwarf pulled a piece of grain out of his beard, and looked at his pony. Messy eater.

"And we'll compare your one tribe to my clan, eh? Look, not many of us are worried about their prowess, but their cowardice. They'll just as quick put an arrow through your neck from out of sight as they will look at you. My brutish comrade, you really must learn to pick your fights wisely." Kannizan walked over to the half-orc. "I put my vote on going with the mountain. What does everyone else say?"

"I must agree. A store proprietor told me a rumor about hobgoblin raids in this area. I do believe we should pick a route that would enable us to at least somewhat conceal our movements from prying eyes. After all, we don't know what we're up against. Who's to say the force won't have spies looking for a band of adventurers heading it's way?" Kannizan prepared his pony for the trip ahead. He had his ax sheathed with him, but he packed away his shield to allow himself more mobility in the saddle. Kannizan looked around. "Anyone familiar with the territory that might have a good suggestion?"
