Sellikus chased after the commanding b1 battle droid. It was a slog through the undergrowth; Sellikus quickly realized that he would not be able to catch up to the droid. Sellikus had to fire then, or he would never be able to take out the droid. Taking a wild shot through the tree's and brush, Sellikus watched the droid get hit solidly through the back. It fell, rolled a couple times, and stopped dead on the ground. Cautiously approaching it, Sellikus came up on the now disabled droid. Under it's arm, the droid carried a matte grey box. Sellikus was unsure what to make of it, but it certainly wasn't part of the droid. It wasn't a weapon, from what Sellikus could tell. Whatever it was, green and blue lights weakly pulsated from it

"...Or we could chase the droid into the forest," The corporal muttered, watching Sellikus charge after the droid. He gestured to two of the troopers, "You two, follow him." Nodding, two stormtroopers followed Sellikus, though moving at a much slower pace. The corporal turned to face Linopas.

"Well, I can answer that," he said. Sergeant Cam probably wouldn't mind his answering, though he didn't honestly care whether he did or didn't. "That guy over there is our de-facto leader, Sergeant Cam. This here is TK, our pilot; R2-F8, an astromech droid, and she's a real beaut." He had a liking for astromechs in general. "Sellikus, that kiffar who went running into the woods there, is some mercenary; and me, last of all, I'm a sniper. I guess that's pretty much it..."

The corporal nodded. "A militia group, hmm? You guys must be pretty good for the Empire to hire you."

"What's the situation corporal?" Sergeant Cam asked the Corporal.

"Sir, we have been reduced from a force of 40 to a force of 14,"

"Thirteen!" One of the troopers checking a fallen stormtrooper, the one who had been shot in the face, called out.

"...13," The corporal continued glumly, "And we've marched the night our CO, Major Verandor, is down there," the corporal gestured to one of the four troopers in the center of the area. "They're preparing to reengage us. Would you be willing to cover our escape?" The corporal asked hopefully. "None of use are going to be much good, especially with only 9 of us in fighting condition."

...David:

"Are you looking for someone, mister??"

David began, "Yes, my daughter. 10ish-"

“David… does that look like.. fire?”

Putting his hand over his eyes, and following Lore's finger to the top of the ferris wheel, he noticed the glow. It was a warm orange... just like fire... oh-oh... forgetting about Tiffany for a moment, anxiety began to flood over David.

"Amera doesn't happen to like heights does she?" David asked hopefully, already knowing what the answer was. Not waiting for an answer, David began to push his way towards the ferris wheel. Hopefully, David got there before the whole thing went up in flames.

...Jade:

Jade was unsure of what Amera was doing, but she wouldn't put Jade in danger. If she did, her father would get to her. Being strong in the face of fear, Jade held on tight to Amera's arm. Near crying, Jade asked, "What... what's the fire for?" Jade looked down with pleading eyes, hoping her father was down there somewhere...

Gyro cursed as he pulled himself up from the ground. It turned out, he missed both shots. It wasn't the droids that scared him; it was the big hole into space. Their vacuum sealing only lasted for 20 minutes, which was exactly as long as it would take for their reinforcements to arrive. There was no point fighting, if they'd all be dead anyway.

The others could handle the droids. Gyro needed to find the emergency sealant. Every pilot knew it by the name 'Big Red Button' but Gyro doubted it would be so obvious in the base. Which room would it be in? Unless is was in one of the wings, it had to be in the security room. This was, after all, a security breach. Gyro backed into the security room, blasting at any droid he could see.

If your looking for another person, I'll join. I know absolutely nothing of this setting (as the only 3rd ed D&D I played was a computer version!) though.

So what does the group need exactly? I'm thinking some sort of fighter archetype or Cavalier (as those are my favorite sort of classes).

Linopas caught a look look at the droid officer, and decided that it was the primary target. Going on to one knew, Linopas drew a bead on the droid. Once his crosshairs were lines up with it's head, he fired. The shot forced the droid to lean backward; however it regained it's balance and stood back up.

The commander droid barked something about moving forward to his other droids, and began to back up. The other droids moved forward, uncaring about the line of fire they were approaching. From left to right, the first three droids pooled fire on the stormtrooper who was the most in the lead. The first one aimed, but seemingly hesitated and looked at his E-5. The second one opened fire; although the shot singed the tree and missed. The third one, however, hit the stormtrooper perfectly in the chest. The trooper fell with a quick scream. Passing by it's unconscious victim, the droid walked past. The forth and fifth droid both let loose a single shot each towards the center right stormtrooper, though he managed to lean back behind cover. The sixth and final droid in the line marched forward, before remorselessly shooting the nearest stormtrooper in the face. There was no cry; the trooper simply fell backwards on to the ground.

As the others ran for cover, Sergeant Cameron ran left. Ducking behind the tree, he fired at the left most droid. In a direct line, the shot burned it's way through the droid; a faint surge of electricity coated the droid, and it immediately toppled over.

Sellikus ran up to a nearby tree, determined to clear the route to the commander droid. As he did so, the forth droid in the line turned to face him. Finding his intended target convulsing, he instead chose to fire on the closer droid. Firing two shots, one the droid seemed to absorb with ease. The other hit it's throat. The droid's originally unbroken advanced suddenly faltered, but it kept coming.

Fayt moved back behind the trees to avoid the combat, having no ranged weapons to contribute to the fight. The stormtrooper began their counter assault. The three left most troopers fired on the left most droid. Though two of the shots were grazing shots, the third one hit the droid directly in it's power pack. With a sudden poof, the droid was enveloped in flames. The forth trooper fired a blast at the last standing droid on the right, hitting it in the left arm. Rending the arm off, the droid was spun by the force, and fell. Standing up beside Sellikus, the fifth stormtrooper fired his E-11 into the droid to his right. With a solid hit, the droid toppled backwards unceremoniously. The last two trooper fired on the remaining droid in the front line. One of them slipped while he attempted to aim, firing a shot up vertically into the air. Calmly, the forth one fire on the already damaged droid, finishing it off. That only left the one...

On the last remaining droid, the officer, the whole force of the Imperials fired. Somehow, the droid dodged every shot; sprinting, in turned and ran back into the forest, firing two shots back towards the Imperials.

"Corpral, should we pursue?" One of the stormtroopers asked. The trooper beside Sellikus shook his head.

"I doubt we could catch it. Reform for another attack." the corporal turned to the spec ops group, including TK who just arrived. "Please tell me your reinforcements. We're kind of dead out here."

(OOC: Uhh, wow... that was much faster than I had anticipated. There were two criticals rolled on your side. Both sides also each had a single failure. All droids are defeated except the commander. Somehow, every shot missed him (not by my own choice!). You can pursue him if you wish, and ignore the corporal.)

While the party began to move forward at a jog, Sellikus scooped down to pick up the fallen troopers weapon. Night was rapidly descending, with the bioluminescence beginning to light it up. It was still light enough for everyone to see.

As the group moved at a brisk pace, they past by some signs of combat. A couple more imperial casualties, along with some tapien soldiers, grey battle droids, and a few mercenaries. The ground was mud; it clung to the parties' boots and slowed them down.

With the group moving out, TK began to fall behind. Fatigue was beginning to set in for him, though the rest of the party seemed to be fine. Cam called over his shoulder to TK, " Come on TK, those soldiers can't hold out forever!"

The party arrived, to see 14 stormtrooper locked in a skirmish. 4 of them were already laying down. Attacking them was a squad of Grey B1 battle droids. One of the droids was the officer, easily visible since it was barking orders to the others. One droid was blasted down, but 7 droids remained.

The stormtroopers had formed a cone, with 4 troopers taking cover on the right, and 5 on the left. Each of the 9 was behind one of the massive leafy plants. The 10th standing trooper was attending to one of the injured soldiers. While the party approached, one of the troopers on the right was hit and he fell. The trooper in the center sprinted over to the trooper.

6 of the droids stood in the open. The seventh, the officer, weaved in and out of the trees behind the other droids. He was not firing anywhere near as much as the other droids, preferring to command the other droids instead.

It was strange for only seven droids to be on the field of battle. Normally, they came in large hoards. Whatever was happening, the droids seemed to be gaining ground on the stormtroopers...

OOC: ( TK will be 2 turns behind everyone else, as he failed his endurance check. Everyone else succeeded with relatively similar rolls. I will try and put up a map, but you can act now if you would like.)

"So, how long till they..." Gyro voice drifted away, as he looked up to the ceiling. Sparks continued to pour down. Fortunately, the armour Gyro was wearing protected him from any burns they could have caused. "Gee, I wonder..."

In a sudden thump, part of the ceiling collapsed. Gyro stepped back and faltered. When he was coming out, he had not intended for a firefight.

5 B1's leapt down the hole. Well, unless they had a ray shield, that hole would leak atmosphere. That gave them 20 minutes or so until they started to run out of air. Unless they patched it of course. Gyro stewed over the fact that they wouldn't have enough time to escape without sealing that hole... or moving to a place and blocking off this area.

In his thoughts, Gyro momentarily forgot about the droids, until one spun to face them. Gyro had both his weapons drawn, but had not aimed them out of concern for the atmosphere. Stumbling backward, Gyro sealed his armour and fired both his pistols. Hopefully, he hit something.

(OOC: Gyro moves back and fires two shots at the droids.)

"20 minutes..." Gyro thought about the time that it would take for reinforcements. Even so, it was only two reinforcements. How could any two troopers take on a whole droid force? However it would be done, Gyro couldn't figure out any other course of action. Disabling the safety, Gyro pulled his pistol. He commed every clone trooper in the vicinity. In his mind, his voice was bold. In reality, it was shaky: "Ok guys... 20 minutes until evac arrives... let's... show these droids what were are made of!"

Gyro marched out into the hall, one of his pistols drawn. He was not going to be afraid of droid scum; Gyro would destroy as many of the tin cans as showed up! Then he would destroy even more! No amount of droids would keep him from actually being in space! With renewed confidence, Gyro disabled the safety from his other blaster.

David was about to move forward, when a large crowd began to move in. Pushing forward, David called his daughters name, " Jade! Jade!" As quickly as it had come, the crowd dispersed.

In front of David sat a young blond girl. She looked somewhat worn out from being swept up by the crowd. David knew, at least from witness' description, how nasty crowd could be. This girl... David recognized her. But from where? A client? No, he'd never had her. She wasn't a lawyer from the opposite side, that he was sure of. Maybe she was a witness? Whatever, he didn't have time for this. Turning back to Lore, he hoarsely said, " I think we should move on. I think Jade would be attracted to the smaller, noisier rides..."
-----------------------------------------------------

Jade looked around for her father. She hadn't realized that he hadn't been nearby until right then. At least she knew who she was with. It was one of her fathers clients.

Looking back out towards the theme park, Jade called out, in somewhat of a panic, "Dad! Dad! Where are you?"

Slade looks over to Hodges and back up to the roof before reaching for his commlink. "Guys, we have a problem.... The droids are on the roof now, be ready for anything."

Gyro heard the message; it wasn't good. Turning back to the comlink, Gyro said, " Uhh, hate to be the bringer of bad new, but the droids are enveloping us. They are on the roof now." Gyro checked his weapon charge. This was going to be a fight now...

Eventually, he confirmed Gyro's help- it might come in handy- and shouted out to him in frustration, "Hah?! Yes, sure, fine! Don't stand there- start testing the computer for us, and tell us what you see- AND DO IT NOOOOWWWW!!"

"You don't need to be so mean about it," Gyro complained, feeling hurt. He didn't like being yelled at...

That didn't stop Gyro from working on the computer. He considered himself fairly versed, even if it wasn't his favorite thing. He much preferred spacecraft to ordinary computers. Spacecraft that saw action, not just sat in the middle of space doing nothing.

The Comm Room had become a flurry of activity within seconds after the message had died. Riggs and his helper were busy sifting through wires and circuit boards fixing whatever problem they could. Meanwhile Gyro was busy sifting through his computer diagnostics, attempting to get the console up and running again. For a solid 5 minutes they worked before the Comm Station lit up and rebooted. Repeat, this is Lieutenants Omega and Caboose. Repeat, this is Lieutenants Omega and Caboose. Come in Troopers, we received your distress signal. What's going on down there?"

Gyro knew most of what the other two troopers were doing. He was fairly good at mechanics. For five, long and painful, minutes, Gyro worked. He had to put aside the imminent doom of arriving droids. That's when he heard it: voices. Lieutenants Caboose and Omega. Gyro leapt to the comlink: "We're under attack! Droids are incoming! We are outgunned, and being overrun! We need reinforcements!"

Sergeant Cam quickly thought about the next objective. If the Tapiens, and their mercenary commander, were so interested in getting the strike team, the team must have something of value. Even if it meant taking a slight detour, the sergeant decided that they must get to it.

"We're going to reinforce the troopers. If the rebellious natives want them so bad, they must have something worthwhile." Sellikus began to walk, causing Cam to jog to move ahead of him.

"Sergeant," Linopas called to Cam, "shall I take the rear guard again?"

Cam glanced over his shoulder, then nodded. "Probably the best for you, as you can shoot past everyone else."

TK looked back towards the main group once more after completing his scan of the area. Walking up to Cam he saluted. "No enemy personnel in the vicinity sir. Are we moving on?" Looking around at the rest of the group he realized the decision had already been made. "I see..."

Drawing his Blaster Rifle he fell in behind Cam. "Hope you don't mind the scout doing his job sir."

"I don't mind soldier. I know this isn't exactly your time to shine. Later. That's when we learn what this is all about." Cam replied to the sergeant.

"So, Will tha' be meanin' I get a bonus if I kill him?"

"You might even get his gear. Don't worry, the Empire pays fully for all it's mercs."

The group had been walking for about twenty minutes, with the other stormtrooper and scout staying relatively quite. The stormtrooper kept checking his E-ll, looking anxious about what lie ahead.

As the group proceeded, faint blaster sounds began to be heard. They were sporadic, but definitely there. A couple steps ahead, the mangled body of a stormtrooper lay on the ground. Cam cursed. "Seems like those Tapiens started earlier than Dierkan said! Come on guys, double time!" Cam began to jog towards the blaster sounds, blaster at the ready. The illuminant light seemed a bit bolder now, as it was later in the evening, reflecting off the armour and metal on the party.

Leaving the room, with his pistol drawn, Gyro went to search for the others. "Riggs! Gyro! Whoever! How's that comm coming!?" Hodges yells over his shoulder. If backup was en route, this would be alot simpler...

"I'm not on the comms." Gyro replied. Hodges and another trooper seemed to be getting ready for the droids to enter. Gyro was afraid, but he wasn't going to show that.

He came around the corner to Riggs. Furiously, Riggs was working on the console. "How's it coming? Can I help?" Gyro knew that Riggs knew that Gyro could help with this.

Gyro wished they could leave. His armour could only protect him for 20 minutes in hard vacuum, and there was no way that they could leave without a ship.

Hoarsely, David said to Lore, " Ok, that didn't work. Where could they be? They must have somewhere they would go..." David thought. Where would Jade go? Where would Amera go?

Jade had won some things with Amera! Jade carried some of the stuffed animals with Amera, including her favorite the black cat. That is when a man in a top hat arrived; he handed them a black rose, and than began his riddle. Jade listened, entranced by his voice.
