Subject: Swords?

How did I miss a conversation about swords? You folks know what I do, right? Well, one of the many things I do, I should say... I sell weapons on the RenFest circuit down here in Texas. I have a fair-sized personal collection, myself, including some show pieces, some costume pieces, and a couple of battle-ready pieces.

Actually, I barely sleep. 3-4 hours in a night, and they aren't all in a row. I have a lot of trouble sleeping alone, and when I do, it's usually under and behind the heaviest furniture I can find. Dangerously paranoid and all that.

What rifle? I'm pretty sure I specifically said it's a pistol... Anyway, I didn't say it's my daughter, I was merely adding a statement to the conversation on daughters. Guys often talk about their plans to scare boys away from their little girls - I was just saying that when someone needs scaring, I'm probably your man.

Languages - bits and pieces of a royal boatload. My Spanish is pretty crappy. My French is terrible. My Latin isn't too great. My German is VERY rusty. My Dutch is mostly pieced together from my broken German. My Gaelic is almost incomprehensible. I can rattle out a few songs in Russian, Swedish, Romanian, Old English, Italian, and Punjabi, but that's nothing like actually knowing a language. Several dialects of English. Most people aren't aware that there is more than one living English language. (British, American, and Australian don't count as separate dialects, but Island English does. Go to St. Croix or Trinidad and you'll see.)

Hot dogs - Mustard. Chili. Cheese. If you need anything else, you made the chili wrong.

Iced cream - Rocky Road for eating. Strawberry or chocolate for fun.

Eyes - They have been described as "that shade of blue that only comes from thousands of years of looking out over glaciers." I wouldn't know. I've never seen them clearly.

Fingernails - Mine grow very fast, but don't stay long. I don't clip them, because I don't have to. They wear down or break off when they get too long. Luckily, they seem to break cleanly when they do, so they aren't all jagged and horrible.

Hair - my hair changes with the seasons. Now it's starting to pick up the slightly golden shade for spring. In summer, it will be a light yellow-blond. In the autumn, it gets red highlights, sometimes deepening to an honest-to-god auburn, and then to a light brownish blond in the winter. As some of you know, it's somewhat longish, though not past my belt as it was when I shaved it off. Now, it's barely to the small of my back... barely. Also... *cries* DA cut short her beautiful hair...

Age - for an apricot, I am old beyond counting. For a mountain, I have not even begun to exist. For a man - I am just right.

Daughters - I'm floating around 6'4", weigh something more then 200lbs, and I'm told I can look downright frightening sometimes. I have a .56cal pistol with a twelve-inch barrel and a knack for throwing axes right about groin hight. If someone needs scaring, I think I can handle it.

How could I forget Adams? I feel like an idiot... I love his work.

Also: why shouldn't I read Byron and Shelly? Oh, yes... Oscar Wilde, too. Can't forget him. Portrait of Dorian Grey and all that. Everyone should read that.

First: I do NOT purr. It's an urban legend. Ask Cass... whatever she says is a bald-faced lie.

Second, I've always been a reader. I literally cannot remember a time when I didn't read incessantly. Early influences: heavily Asimov and Tolkien. In my teenage years, more and more Heinlein. Of course Lovecraft. That should go without saying. Wells. Verne. Shelly. Byron. Things of that nature.

Subject: Names

Of course, there's Rystefn, and The Original Palassassin, you all know that already. Also: Ryst, RK, Rysty, K, and K'ryll.

In the world of video games, I'm called Rev II (if you call me The Rev, she will annihilate you. Trust me).

In a certain circle of swordplay, I gained early on the unfortunate nickname of Bloody Bob, from my inability to ignore the flagrantly illegal centerline face shot (comes of being trained to a more universal style). Lots of bloodied lips and noses. It's become something of a badge of honor.

Also, there's some sort of urban legend floating around that I purr, so it's more than a few who call me cat, or some variation thereof.

I hate the entire concept of political parties. Washington told us they would be the death of this nation, and he's terribly close to being proven right.

"If the pull of the bow is strong enough for the recoil to snap it back into his face because of the size of the arrow, then the pull of the bow is too great for him to have drawn it in the first place."

Master archer or no, this is the reality.

Furthermore, in this scenario, the bow and the archer are essentially one object. The arrow would have to exceed the combined mass of the bow and the archer together to stay in place here. If you REALLY want to push this, I'll do it for you. I'll put my life on the line to prove you wrong.

Meh, you should be able to combine the two, right?

Also I have no pets. I used to breed rats, and I kind of live in the same place as the cutest cat in all of creation (also the kibby, but he's weird), but that's it.

This is a problem physicists run into constantly: The real world doesn't work like that. There are more complications than you allowed for in this scenario. In this case, physics can explain why. Yes, if they were floating in empty space, resisted only by inertia, braced apart, and suddenly the tension removed completely, the bow would move more than the arrow if the arrow were bigger - but they would both move. Equal and opposite reactions and such. With a massive enough size difference, the movement of the large object becomes negligible - eventually to disappear when the inertia is enough to prevent the movement altogether.

However, in this case, the bow is being held in place by a person. With the forces involved in this specific action, a human being is a nigh on immoveable object. Possibly enough to wobble a bit, but not enough to make him lose his grip on the bow. In archery, the long bones and large muscle groups in the left arm and shoulders are carefully and specifically lined up to resist the forces pulling the bow back towards the archer. If the pull of the bow is strong enough for the recoil to snap it back into his face because ofthe size of the arrow, then the pull of the bow is too great for him to have drawn it in the first place.

Given that I've already established that I don't know what sign is what, I really can't much help you there... However since the Western-style is based on the month and the Chinese style is based on the year, shouldn't you be able to look at my personality and guess my birthday to within a few weeks?

It's a habit I picked up over on PlanetADnD (which allows a slightly more adult standard of avs) - I decided that if I was going to look at ten thousand and more of a picture (my post count there was that high when I decided this), I was going to look at a hot naked chick ten thousand times. Now... well, it's a habit that's Ive done so long, it's become a tradition.
