Pulling her cloak around her tightly, the angel turned and walked quietly away from the ruins of the castle, hoping that they would have enough time to get clear before anyone else came around looking for survivors. Too many, on both sides of the conflict, were excellent trackers, and the more distance between them and any pursuers, the better Lamiel would feel about the whole project.

How long before they come back to this place to claim the spoils of war, or to desecrate the fallen in their hate?" The angel took a slow step towards her, "you have no need to trust me. I'm telling you nothing you don't already know if you took the time to consider it..."
Turning, she drew her hood over her head once more, "Not too much time. If they come in numbers, you are in no condition to fight them now."

The two of them, Angel and Fallen, stood silently in the darkness, alone in their thoughts. each assessing the other. Lamiel expected the other to be wary at the least, probably hostile. If history was an indicator, the two of them would come to cross purposes rather swiftly, and the resulting confrontation was unlikely to end well. Still, there was nothing else to do but to stick to the plan.
When the Lycan returned, she was leading a young-looking vampire. Age among them was always difficult to guage,though, as many of them retained youthful appearance throughout their lives, and few appered to be beyond middle age. The newcomer stood frozen, eyes wide in either shock or fear.
Lamiel turned to address the vampire, her voice pitched low, but carrying easily in the cool night air. "We must leave this place. It is not safe here, and time is not our friend."

The changer wore the scars of many fights and was alert and wary, despite her claims that they were not keeping watch. This was unsurprising, given the recent fight. The Fallen, though, was something of an enigma... They always were to Lamiel. Their worlds too far apart and yet too similar for real understanding, it seemed. There were vampires about as well, which was exactly what the enchantress was hoping for.
"I am called Lamiel. There is little time. Whatever survivors remain will need to be gathered. Take only what you can carry. It is not safe here."

Looking down at the ruins, the traveller saw a figure standing among the stones. Good, at least one was still here. It wasn't too late, then. She hurried her pace, carefully picking her way through the fallen stones that had once been a mighty fortress.
"A dark night," she said softly as she approached the pair - the woman and the panther. Stepping out of the shadows, she pulled back her hood, revealing black eyes, like pools of night. He skin was a dusky shade of olive, and silken hair brushed her jawline as she spoke. "There are no walls to defend, yet you still keep watch. I find that curious."

The night was black as pitch, or so it seemed with no moon out, and the clouds lying thick and low in the sky. Even the night eyes of changers and vampires would be less sharp on a night such as this. A night for dark deeds. A night for secrets.
The traveller's cloak might have once been deep green, but now it was faded to the color of the rough moss growing upon the trees. Regardless, it blended into the darkness, and so served its purpose. Not that it was needed on this night. No prying eyes were open to see, and might as well have been wearing a shimmering gown of silver threads. Still, caution was called for.
Animosities long nursed in the hearts of the conquered had erupted into bloodshed, and few, if any, would be safe in the nights to come. Uncounted fallen from both sides were mourned, and the hatred of this bloody work would not soon be forgotten. A black time had fallen upon the land, and the light would not be seen again in this place before many more lives were lost.
It would be a hard time for everyone, harder for some than others. For children, for parents, for lovers perhaps most of all, it would be a time of terror, of fear, of the constant threat of loss stripping all joy from the world; but for an enchantress, it would be a time of opportunity. The traveller increased her pace, for the castle was far, and time was short...

Well, my dad didn't give me my title for straight A's, either. I got my title from someone else altogether. Also, maybe if you drew one of those hand turkeys for fridge, that might help. That's how I got mine, only the drawing was deemed too graphic for this site. Such is life.

Maybe we should come up with an actual rule for when you get a title... I mean the standard titles are based on post-count, so that's no good... Maybe time you've been at the Inn? Number of other Innmates you've met? Being overwhelmingly pretty (that's how I got mine).
