I was liking emblem two, not a fan of having a large anime chick in the background really.

...anime?
I also like #2.
As far as your list goes Al, I had no idea how to deal with those ~ apart from the Cortex link, but even then wasn't sure as to price list. I didn't know how equipped Destiny was before we got to her!
Does the Scrapware not count as a parts cache?

Agreed
I will admit #2 was my 1st choice till I seen #4. I would make #2 my 2nd choice.

I can't decide
Personally I like all of them except number 3. Thought number 1 and 4 are my favourite.

More gear for the ship
Cortex Terminal, Black Box ~ 747.2
Wound Armor at 96 tons per point ~ 960
(ouch)
Stun Armor at 19.2 tons per point ~ 19200
(big ouch)

Well
I like, in order:
2
1 (bit cliché)
3 (looks cool, but not really for a SPACESHIP)
4 (SPACESHIP!)
5 (I SAID SPACESHIP!)

hurm
Seems like #2 is the most popular with #4 a close second.
For for some of the comments made, I was trying to capture the idea of Destiny in the emblem. I am not a graphic artist by any stretch of the imagination so if someone wants to offer an alternative, feel free.
As well, in Serenity they are not spaceships - you will notice that no one calls them that. They are called boats, "the" is never used before the name - hence Serenity not The Serenity. JW did this with the purpose that vessel was more than a mode of transport.
Don't worry about finding all the costs yet Celeste. I will provide that when the time comes.

Plot points
One key aspect to this game is Plot Points. They are points your charatcer gets for good roleplay, especially with playing on complications. You can use your plot poits to:
1. Add to your own rolls to improve chances.
2. To subtract from damage done in combat
3. Effect an outcome after the fact
Now I play them differently than the rules. If you use a plot point to enhance a roll 1 point gets you an extra d6. If you spent 2 points than you use d8, 3 = d10 etc. So if you really need to kill someone, you say in your post that you are adding a plot point and you get an extra d6 added to your roll.
If you get wounded in combat, you can get a die roll taken off your damage. So you have been shot for 12 points of damage (6 points of stun and 6 of wounds). You post you wish to decrease the damage with a plot point and I roll a 6. That would reduce the total damage to 6 so you would have 3 stun and 3 wound and I would post that the wound looks worst than it is.
If you choose after the fact to use a plot point, like after you missed hitting the rope that holds the wagon wheel over the bar, then you need to spent 2 points to get a d6 and 2 more for a d8. Expensive after the fact.
Now all players will start with 6 plot points. use them wisely.
Note - I am hoping to get the game started tonight even if the ship isn;t completely ready. This isn't a take off in a few post start (unless you do something really foolish)

speaking of unfinished...
on a different but oddly related note:
This is a friendly reminder from one crewmember to all of the other memebers of Destiny ~ please give a little short paragraph or two about how your character works with others. It'll make things so much easier when we start Destiny's Flight if we can have some sense of 'we've been aboard this ship with eachother goin' on three years now!'.

A little introduction - Ken McCormick
Ken is the newest member of the Destiny having joined the crew only about 1 year ago; in that time he has proven that he can be a capable ‘Public Relations’ man. Being strong and quite handy with guns of all sorts; he has helped the Destiny get through a few tight spots in his short time aboard.
While he seems friendly enough to the other crew members he can often be crude and a bit of a loner. He spends a lot of free time working out and has a healthy streak about him which contradicts his bad habit of smoking cigarettes. His constant exercising has given him a very trim athletic figure with only 3% body fat and a very ‘ripped’ physique.
His size and demeanor often assist him in his job as “PR” man; simple threats and an intimidating manner can often accomplish his desires without the need for guns and violence. However, when intimidating doesn’t do the job, he is not beyond using pain and even death to get the job done.
One issue that springs up between him and some members of the crew has been the Independents; he doesn’t like to discuss it but it is known by the crew that he doesn’t care for the Independents almost as much as the Alliance. The crew knows that he grew up on Hera and that his family were killed in the battle of Serenity Valley; he blames both sides for their deaths but luckily he appears to hate the Alliance more than any one else.

Okay. After much ado, I have come up with this:
You have 6000 credits to use on the ship. From this 6000 you will need to look at upgrades, enhancements and equipment for general use. You should get a well stocked Infirmary - that is my strongest recommendation.
Now Celeste listed some equipment pricing here which is good. To enhance a stat of the ship (like raise the Willpower or intelligence) I will have to calculate it out.
If there is any cash left over, you can hold it for day to day expenses or divide it up to be spent on individual equipment (bullet proof dusters, hats etc)
I will be starting the game by this weekend. If I do not hear from DB by then, I will assume he is out and we an ask another person to join or go as is.
Any Questions? Do Mahn?

dragonblood has bowed out due to time constrains. I think the crew is fine as is, with the caveat that you don't have much of a "face" person and you may need one later on.

gah!
that.... really blows. Tess could... probably be a face.
*frowns* It would be handy having that one extra person, but I suppose we could, er, pick someone up later on?

Escaping
Like most people taking to the skies in that time following the Unification War, Brian Davidson was on the run.
Not from past but from family connections. Mafia wars tend to spill across entire families, the non-combatants tending to be the most targeted.
Has a medical degree, and much experience in fixing people up, but prefers to remain neutral in any conflict. During the War, he was an ambulance pilot and doctor on Osiris for a humanitarian association. Everyone got fixed up, no matter what side.
Quite composed and calm, has a general blasé attitude to everything. Sometimes this may scare people having gone under his scalpel, but then again HE's the doctor, not them, so they probably trust him on that.
Another thing that tends to scare people is that he's very truthful, too much so in fact. If someone only has one chance in twenty of surviving the necessary surgery, he'll say it.
