Miss Ivy...

Well we all know Pops is is a Curmudgeon but it will come out that he is a protector.

So I guess to him she'll become Miss Ivy and when he's irritated Miss Sanders.

Got a bit of post going to bring things up do current. Much of it is Pops POV of what has happened so far.

May just put it up and start a new one from Wyatt's page out.

Pilot on board

Alex Castlebrandt is on board and ready to fly.

As for the distress signal - the object has a very low power siignal.  Does it seem to be enough to do anything more than just a shortwave?  Would some other type of beacon or message have required more power?  Would there be power left over after the beacon to do anything else?  (Like lifesupport or weapons, even small.)

There's a lot of opportunity for back posting and carrying on with the characters getting to know one another over the time they've been onboard Destiny. However, I don't want to bog the game down and bore Alacrity so I'm proposing we post what the other characters may know about your character here just to hurry things along. I'll set the example. What Wyatt has let slip or what the others might have observed about Wyatt and the same with Ivy (which Roger may adjust if I'm off base):

  1. Wolf and Wyatt:
    1. Wyatt and Fenris met before they joined the War.
    2. They ended up in prison together bound by law; Fenris for fighting, Wyatt for killing a bunch of men who had killed his family.
    3. Fenris is the one that convinced Wyatt to take the offer from the Sheriff to hotfoot it off-planet and join the Browncoats.
    4. Fenris and Wyatt went their separate ways when they joined and Wyatt ended up piloting a Firefly-class blockade runner.
    5. They met up again just before boarding the Victorious.
    6. Fenris knows that Wyatt had become an alcoholic after the war trying to deal with the loss of his wife and daughter and that he's been sober for a short time now (again, just before boarding the Victorious).
    7. Wolf also knows that Wyatt is extremely superstitious. He believes strongly in the Rule of Three where three good things occur followed by three bad things. He also believes in Karma and Merit.
    8. Wyatt would have had no problem explaining to Wolf that Eden, his wife, is watching over him as the "ghostly woman in white."
  2. Alaxis and Wyatt:
    1. Wyatt and Pops hired Alaxis in a meeting at a small bar near the shipyard.
    2. After Alaxis had been on board for a couple of days, it would have become apparent to the doctor that he wants to drink but avoids it.
    3. Wyatt is reserved and respectful towards women and keeps space between him and the opposite sex.
    4. Wyatt served as a Browncoat against the Alliance. He still wheres his standard-issue brown trench coat.
  3. Pops and Wyatt:
    1. Wyatt, Pops, and Wolf had some opportunities to conversate between the Victorious being blown up and finding Destiny. Then again while they were working on refitting Destiny and hiring on the crew.
    2. Pops would know that Wyatt has lost his family and that it was by murder.
    3. He'd know that Wyatt has been at odds with the Law in the past.
    4. He'd know that Wyatt served as a Browncoat pilot and blockade runner.
    5. He'd know that Wyatt is an alcoholic but hasn't had a drink in months.
    6. Pops also knows that Wyatt is extremely superstitious. He believes strongly in the Rule of Three where three good things occur followed by three bad things. He also believes in Karma and Merit.
    7. Wyatt would have had no problem explaining to Pops that Eden, his wife, is watching over him as the "ghostly woman in white."
  4. Alex and Wyatt
    1. Wyatt and Pops hired Alex, again at a small bar near the shipyard.
    2. Alex knows that Wyatt was a blockade runner for the Browncoats and a good pilot.
    3. Alex also knows that Wyatt is extremely superstitious. He believes strongly in the Rule of Three where three good things occur followed by three bad things. He also believes in Karma and Merit.
  5. Fox and Wyatt
    1. Wyatt and Pops hired Fox, again at a small bar near the shipyard.
    2. Fox knows that Wyatt was a Browncoat and can pilot Destiny.
    3. Fox also knows that Wyatt is superstitious.

Confused

In my background dealing with the war I wrote that Wyatt and I had fought in a number of battles. However I thought the two of us were ground pounder INF. Come to think on it if I was a INF how did I get my ship repair skills? Would it not be easier to say after we joined, Wyatt and I were both Firefly-class blockade runners on the same ship till I got caught and thrown into an Alliance jail? I find it hard to think he and I'd spilt up after going through so much and it being my idea to join in the first place.

Will need some info correction so I can reset my background and put down like Brom did above what everyone knows which is pretty much only Pops and maybe a lil with the Doc.

Alex

What you would all likely know about Alex:

* He has done a reasonable amount of smuggling.

* He reads a lot - often big books with complicated titles.  If your paying attention you may recently have seen him reading Plato's Euthyphro.  Or the book mentioned in the first post which I can't remember.

* He may be a smuggler, but he does seem to have a strong sense of right and wrong.  It may not have come up yet, but it will be an easy deduction before long.

*He doesn't show it off, but anyone with a brain will wuickly realize that he is educated.

Wyatt and Pops - since you did the interviewing

* Alex has a strong background in ancient earth objects.  He has smuggled some of these in the past.

* He has traveled a fair amount around the system.

* He didn't disclose his background more than a year or two back.

* You likely didn't catch it, but Alex does not believe in fate, the rule of 3 or any such thing.  We make our own fate.  His life, his choices, and nobody else can make them for him.

* When hired he made it clear he would transport stuff, but he had no intention of doing something that was truly black.  He mentioned a previous run he pulled out of because of biologicals.   In all honesty I'm not quite sure what the exact right item would be but the idea is that he will haul stolen goods and rebellion goods but he wouldn't do something he believed would harm millions.  Drugs, for example, would be hard for him if he knew.

Good idea indeed.

What everyone knows:

*Very confident, bordering on arrogant.

*Slightly twitchy.

*Has a firm, but not neccesarily vocal, dislike of the Alliance.

*Avoids giving details about himself.

What Wyatt and Pops know:

*Fox's real name.

*Gets uneasy if in the open for too long.

What Alexis knows:

*Fos is minorly to moderately paranoid about something.

What Alexander knows:

*Fox has some higher education, but not neccesarily an in-depth one.

Thats about all I can think of for now. If anybody can think of anything their character should know about him, and has a good reason for it, I'm open to listen.

1. Wolf. And Wyatt
  1. Knows Wolf was an orphan raised until 16 in an orphanage and due to the nature of live there learned to fight early.

  4. Fenris is the one that convinced Wyatt to take the offer from the Sheriff to hotfoot it off-planet and join the Browncoats.

That he's been sober for a short time now (again, just before boarding the Victorious).
  9. Wolf also knows that Wyatt is extremely superstitious.
He believes strongly in the Rule of Three where three good things occur followed by three bad things.
Wyatt also believes in  Karma and Merit.
  10. Knows there is no more loyal friend then Wyatt, once he considers you a friend.
  11. After the lon days in the escape pod Fenris knows Wyatt considers Pops a friend.

  4. Fenris and Wyatt stayed together, Wyatt ended up piloting a Firefly-class blockade runner and Fenris as her mechanic.
  5. Fenris was wounded and captured on a pick-up mission and caught by the Alliance and thrown into Perdition prison

  2. They were both Browncoats together in the same unit/ship
  3. Fenris is the Destiny’s Mechanic

Shuttle.......

Alacrity, have you put together any info on the shuttle that is in Destiny?

Just basics like how many seats, range, stuff that might limit what it can do in case we decide to shuttle over.

I don't remember us ever using it in the other story. I don't remember if there was one on Destiny or if we have had to had to find one and modify it to work on Destiny.

There were standard stats on the firefly shuttles. Maybe we just found one of them.

One

Destiny has only the one shuttle on top. It is a slight bigger shuttle that can seat 7 (one as pilot). If you had to, you can pick 12 people into the shuttle before you will have life support issues. It was on the ship when you found it  as were all the lifepods

If you look up Sandfly class Firefly, you will see a similar setup if you need a visual.
