Chiming in

Personally speaking - I think Jon's contribution is clear, and Angela is passive as she is wont to do when not asked directly. We've heard from Catie but the rest of the crew is "Absent without Leave"

This was clearly meant to be a potentially divisive moment in the story line and so far, crew response is "meh"

Catie's standpoint...

From Catie's standpoint, she wants to help Lilliana, but at the same time she does not want to jeopardize anything that is currently in place, namely the transaction with Badger. As much as she dislikes the thought, the non-interference policy is the most reasonable course of action in her mind, unless more information becomes available that indicates the need for action. At this point, she's more keen on keeping everyone in the loop with regards to information obtained about the current situation, and is intent on expanding current knowledge in order to allow the crew to make an informed decision regarding Ms. Fairchild.

Her unspoken suspicions about the situation do lean towards the need for action, but unless she can prove the need to interfere, she isn't going to push the notion.

Of course, if it comes down to it, there is the possibility Catie might take creative license with the verbal contract... really depends on what information, if any, is able to be further obtained.

So in direct answer to Jon's question, her response is supposed to read 'I agree that we shouldn't do anything right this moment; we have insufficient knowledge with which to make a decision. This is just making sure everyone's in the knowledge loop.'

Edit: I like Grace's addendum... 'you know, the last time we were asked to deliver and not ask questions too'

post post post

I hope to do a post during my lunch today. Yesterday got away from me.

MMV gave me a short retort for the captain and I will post for Tess. After that I will move us forward to get everyone out of Jon's room and then it will be morning (actually it is morning, just later morning)

Steak and Powdered egg-flavored protein for breakfast?

Breakfast................

Well I do remember Catie talking about doing the cooking, soooooooooooooo it make sense that she hops to the galley to serve our guests, that's why her room is just out side so she can hear folks in there. Also a good way to get on Lil's good side. Offer what you think we have (you did do the shopping) and ask what she would like first. I'd hope the coffee would be on auto perk so it is ready and hot water for tea should be in urn for self service anytime.

Jon may be calling for room service, lol.

to Reralae

I'm sorry, and maybe it's a deliberate character trait, but nearly everything out of Catie's mouth makes me, the player, go "Huh?"

If it's deliberate, cool, then Angela can express HER confusion, but I really got stuck at the following:

"A line of inquiry that might be worth looking into, perhaps we're approaching the situation from the wrong angle. If Lilianna isn't happy, then it's unlikely it's for her benefit or feelings, but rather for his benefit. We might be able to find something from that side."

I am left wondering which "his" are we talking about? The mysterious man in the photo? the bridegroom? the father of the bride, the man who hired us, the bodyguard or the Almighty (sorry, couldn't resist )

No worries

When Catie ends up thinking in the hypothetical, she ends up forgetting that other people aren't privy to her thoughts. See the interaction with Stephanie just prior to the meeting; half of her sentences are completely disjointed, because her mind is going from one thing to the other so quickly that her speech can't catch up. In this situation, where it's almost entirely hypothetical (since we don't know very much), it's kind of at its worst...

She'll get better as she gets readjusted to living with other people. Catie has lived by herself for a while now.

In this particular case, the 'he' she's referring to is Steele. At the back of her mind, she has the suspicions that this is a publicity stunt by him. Or possibly worse.

To be fair...

Living with and dealing/haggling/requesting of are two different things in my mind...

When putting on a 'face', Catie uses her memory of previous interactions with other people in similar situations in order to ascertain how best to advance social combat. She reads the situation, reads emotional displays, and responds.

Catie without her mask, on the other hand, is what you are observing in these crew meetings. Re-learning to be a part of a team. Getting reacquainted to the dynamics of a group. She's more likely to be in this mode the more uncertain a situation appears to be, because the not-knowing puts stress on her.

The two situations are very different in my mind. In the first, the expected and anticipated social dance is mostly predefined. Both parties have objectives, and both are meeting at the table to negotiate or otherwise interact. In the second, there are no clear objectives, apart from maintaining the unity of the team. What is best for the group in the long term may be difficult to perceive or define.

I hope that makes sense

EVA on Destiny

Before someone asks, and this came up in the Rocinante game, I feel I should address where the EVA hatches are on the ship. Not that I am planning anything. Well, I am, but that is not the point.

Starting from the lower deck. There is a drop door in the floor of the cargo bay. There is a two man lifepod under the Engineer's cabin, but it has no external access, only interior (not even visible from exterior). The main airlock is a self sealing one for connecting to ships. The external controls for the door have a 108 pin password that changes every 10 minutes based on a Grace algorithm, but only when the ship is in flight or someone actives the security protocols.

Middle Deck: EVA hatch in corridor #14, near stairs.#13, the Hovermule storage has a hatch as well. There is a trap door in the galley #7 that leads to the cargobay #18 (only crew know of this)

Upper deck: There is a shuttle on the top of the ship so there is a EVA Hatch to it. The shuttle has a 108 pin password on both doors that changes every 10 minutes based on a algorithm that Grace does in her head. This is only for external access, not internal. As well there is a Hatch in the ceiling above the circular stair case outside 5-6. That hatch has no external access either, only from within (not even visible from exterior).

Note the shuttle for Destiny is a bit bigger than Rocinante's and it has a drop floor opening as well as to side doors. I should finds someone to draw the ship up for me one day.

And........

I need to get in touch with my "Tess" side. I hope to keep things good so when Tes moves along she's missed.

Or even better, someone wants to breath life into her and keep her in the game.

I will keep an eye out for someone who might be interested in taking Tess's role. If by the end of this adventure we are still trying, then I will write her out.
