Forest... at least I could keep running and looking for a way out without walls to block me.
Would you rather be lost drifting out in the ocean (no land in sight) or lost in an underground cave (no way out to be found)?

But if #1 doesn't leave mental wounds either then I guess I would rather live. However if I was mentally unbalanced and doomed to a padded cell lfe then #2
be forced to stay awake and be deprived of sleep for a month or fall into a coma for six months and lose all that time?
