Welcome welcome!

Only two rules, (well actually a few more) but I'm sure you know them already:
- Have fun
- Don't feed the Grugg

PS. And keep a towel at hand.

Man that was fast! I didn't have enough time to say "Reaver" before your group was already full.

It seems I've only got a single game running at the moment and that's by some dude called Al or something. Go figure. I've been hoping to join a scifi-game at some point, but maybe next time.

I will be lurking though, so beware! or don't. Your choice.

You should of course read Grugg's "everyone" as "me". There's a valid reason for keeping him locked up in the basement. Especially when a newcomer has made the ultimate mistake of feeding him.

And you can even design your own labels. Can you see it too? Red Dragon Inn labels on those bottles... How cool would that be?

The only downside (like with them Mana Potions) is that the buggers won't ship to Europe.

Thanks for the link!

It seemed at first like Kilgim's warnings about a trap fell on deaf ears, but then Flynn cast some bardic spell which indicated that following the ghosts the others had seen, was ok. The bald warrior-priest shrugged. He didn't know anything about bardic tricks and it didn't really matter to him. The holy place had been fouled by the mysterious evil, spider controlling entity and it needed to be destroyed. It was all the same to Kilgim when and where it happened. If it was a trap, then at least they all were ready for it.

The orange-bearded dwarf followed his companions into the room and was taken by surprise by its contents. Of course there wasn't anything odd about a library in an abbey as such. Scholars tended to gather tomes and scrolls around them no matter what their field of specialty was. And priests or monks weren't any different. Hell, he'd personally grown in the middle of books, religious and not. Although the clerics of Clangeddin also trained heavily in the art of warfare, lore and wisdom were also central parts of their training. And even if Kilgim personally preferred solving problems with the Blackaxe, he did love the smell and feel of books.

The cleric turned to browse at some book backs on the shelf by the door when there was a loud crash from behind him, in the middle of the room. The dwarf swirled around with the axe at the ready only to see Char step back from a large open tome on a table. From the rangers stance, Kilgim couldn't tell whether Char had seen something evil in the book he'd apparently opened or if there was some unseen enemy nearby. He knew the woodsman wasn't shaken easily by anything, but something had surely caught him by surprise.

"Uh," Char blinked through his curtain of hair. "I tink i' be fer you, Kilgim."

Before the dwarf could comply, Flynn and Adrian had made their way to the book and the mage was casting some spell no doubt to check the tome and the room out. It was all well with Kilgim. The wizard's magic was probably better suited for such things anyway. Slowly and carefully the dwarf moved to stand beside the bard and took a peek at the book.

Thanks Rob. However we haven't gotten to the skiing part yet. I'm finally feeling better today, but guess what? Now it's Liisa turn to be ill. The poor kid's been waiting for this for weeks...

So that's just saying I probably won't be able to post today or tomorrow either. Not saying I can't, but just wanted to give you a heads up.

Hi guys,

I'll be heading towards a skiing resort called Levi in the Northern parts of Finland today for the next four nights.

It's nothing big when compared to what you guys must be used to, but by Finnish standards (and apparently Russian judging by the number of Russian tourists) it's quite big. Actually our only mountain is only 1324m high, so Levi at 531m is ok.

There should be an internet connection available at our rented apartment, so I should be able to post. However I've been down with some nasty influenza. I've had really high temperature, but fortunately it's now getting better. Therefore I'll try to post if things don't get a turn for the worse.

Welcome to the inn!

We might not be the purdiest or the largest roleplaying community out there, but hell we certainly are the warmest and friendliest. We're one big family in here and we're all happy to see a new brother join the Inn.

Do lurk around, join a game or two, perhaps start your own if you feel like it. Got any questions, ask away and you shall doubtlessly receive an answer or three.

Topic: Demon Wind
Subject: Hello

After Anna had brought their drinks, Danamar took a sip of his cider and wondered about the situation they were in for. There was no telling what was awaiting MV6 on the days to follow. It was no doubt something evil and dangerous, but not having a clear image of the opposition made the cleric a bit nervous. He had the same kind of feelings of uncertainty about the old woman sitting in the corner. She did not appear to be a servant of any evil power, but there was something chaotic and mysterious about her. Fortunately, Danamar was not the only one who had noticed the hag, for Daldren was already heading to chat with her.

Instead of worrying too much, the syl decided to concentrate on more positive and interesting matters. He forced a smile on his face and moved his emerald eyes to Elessarae only to find that there was no need to fake it. The warmth touching his heart when looking into the eyes of his "little sister" instantly turned the smile genuine. All those years were immediately washed away and Danamar felt like he was that young boy again running around the grove with the little girl at his tail. The connection the two syls shared was almost telepathic and for what seemed like an eternity, there was no need to exchange any words.

Oh how he'd missed her. It was like Danamar had been reconnected with a long lost family member although in truth the two were not related in any way. Yet the love they shared was not between a man and a woman, but the kind that bonds siblings together - eternal and without reserve. Oblivious to what was going around them, Elleseler and Altatoror drifted away in a quiet conversation in their native tongue. For an onlooker the conversation would have been nearly impossible to follow even for someone mastering the sylvari language. They used words they'd invented as children to describe beloved things and left out much of the sentences knowing the other would understand.. There was no need for either to explain what he or she meant, for their connection was that strong. They were what their people called Eliai'iriai and Eliai'nerain - soul-sister and soul-brother - two parts of one.

And oblivious to the things happening around them they were. Danamar knew he could trust his fellow MVs to keep them safe or to warn them should a danger become imminent. Therefore, the leader of MV6 did not pay heed to what went on between Daldren and the fortune teller woman. His portion of Anna's wonderful fried vegetables as well as his drink stood on the table in front of him untouched. Nor did Danamar see the newcomer enter the inn - a stranger and a sylvari at that.

The warrior-priest would probably have found the unknown syl's proposition somewhat funny had he heard it, but the exchange between Mendez and Tadirien Vanlithe passed without either of them noticing. Only when Tariel poked him in the side, Danamar broke out of the trancelike conversation. Knowing the scout would not have interrupted them without a very good reason, the priest immediately turned to face her. "Yes?"

Slightly irritated by the fact that a member of the Militia Vericulum would be the reason for the disturbance, Danamar stood up to give Tadirien his full attention. He waited until the man had given the letter to Elessarae and then spoke with an even and relaxed voice: "Since you have managed to locate us and know our identities, I take it that you have received your orders from Tarse directly?" Without waiting for a reply he continued: "Please repeat officer Merchantson's command word for word."

If hearing the last piece of news he ever wanted to hear touched the noble-blooded syl, it certainly wasn't visible on his face. Those of the group that had known him the longest including Elessarae were probably able to sense something of the disappointment and pain their nominated leader felt inside. But to anyone else it would've seemed not a single word in the orders moved him in any way. Inside, Danamar felt desperation and confusion. The sister he had been given back after such a long time, would be taken away so soon with no indication on when they could meet again.

Tarse had said Elessarae should leave immediately, but surely their liaison could not have meant the very same evening? Nothing could be gained from her leaving against the night even when taking into consideration her ability of seeing in low light or her skills as bladesinger. No, Danamar had made up his mind. Merchantson was not here, so therefore he was still in charge of the group and as far he saw it, the newcomer as well.

"Very well. The reasons for calling away one of our number can not be anything but valid. The need for you back at home must be stronger than what is the MV's need for your skills, Elessarae. Therefore you must obey the summons. However you must not risk your new assignment by riding off into the dark of night right away. The distance is great and you can make up the time lost during the days ahead. At first light, you will leave MV6 and begin your journey back to Londelirinen, but not a moment earlier." With a sudden urge to show his love for the bard, Danamar reached out to stroke her hair lightly and gave her a sad smile: "Tomorrow can wait. Tonight we shall celebrate the meeting of a new friend and the departure of another."

Some hours later Danamar when everyone except himself and Elessarae were retiring for the night, the cleric pulled Tadirien to the side for a few words. His voice was soft and quiet and without a hint of threat in it: "Just a word of warning Tadirien. Although I put all my trust in Tarse's judgment and believe you are very much up to the task, I must say this… Elessarae's departure is only temporary and she will be back one day. For the time being you will be a full member of our team… But only until her return." The raven-haired priest knew he didn't need to add anything about the newcomer getting a more permanent place in the group should someone else leave or perish during an assignment. He was sure Tadirien would understand.

I'm with Eol and the rest of the bunch here. Do go ahead and start a free-form game for it. The idea is not new, but it's a good one. We've had tavern games a few times before, but those are either long gone or at least not frequently played anymore.

I for one would certainly pop in with a character or three.

Subject: What kind of treachery is this?

Kilgim followed his friends as they explored the room and tower to the north. It appeared to be a simple storage area for the temple's previous - as it now in all misfortune seemed - inhabitants. Having witnessed the power of the creature controlling the dead bodies and summoned spiders, the dwarven cleric had little hope left for finding his fellow clergymen still alive. Not being the most optimistic person out there, Kilgim could only hope some of the priests had found a place they could defend and hold against the attacks of the evil one or better yet, had managed to flee the carnage. Though in his heart he knew the chances for the latter were virtually none. Should someone have escaped, he would no doubt have run straight to the village below.

It was a surprise to Kilgim to see the spiders gone. The gigantic beasts had bled like any living being, but now it appeared they had been summoned through the use of powerful magics. The bald dwarf had next to no understanding on how sorcery worked or what type of spells were needed for such a feat. But logic stated that summoned monsters would be far more common should the magical process be something any wizard considered easy and could handle.

As the group moved on, Kilgim took his place in the rear. In his mind it was the best place for him for two reasons: In the case of a combat situation (which seemed fairly evident to take place), he could easily observe their party to see who needed his help - be it physical or magical. And in the back, the warrior-priest would be able to protect Adrian against any assault coming from the rear or front. Of it "protecting" sounded a bit too boastful, at least Kilgim would be the first to take the surprise blow instead of the unarmored mage. For some reason, despite the seriousness of the situation, the thought made the dwarf chuckle.

Then they reached a hallway heading south and all thoughts of happiness vanished from Kilgim's mind. He felt a freezing chill touch his soul as if some invisible creature had grasped his heart with icy claws. He didn't see the hallway properly from his rear-guard position, but the green eyes did catch one door opening and another one closing. And it was right away clear that he wasn't the only one who'd seen or felt something. Adrian, Maximus and Char had witnessed the same thing as well, but in addition they seemed to have seen someone they knew to be dead passing across the hallway.

Having only held the Blackaxe in his right hand at the ready, Kilgim swiftly drew his second battle axe as well. "Aye. Seems like a trap t'me as well. Perhaps we'd better let our curiosity be 'n check the rest o' the temple first?"

This one: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-12427680

On some parts it sounds good, on others... Forecasts are saying we'll lose thousands of jobs inside Finland. For a country this small it's a tough blow and especially so when considering the fact that there aren't too many hi-tech companies... and certainly none the size of Nokia.

EDIT: Hmm.. my temp must've been higher than I thought considering the amount of typos in the post above and posting the same text twice.
