Topic: Fortune's Favoured: Revenge of the Revenge of the Game
Subject: Buying a bit of time?

Tristan didn't bother to stop the smile creeping onto his face as the little one began talking the groups ears off. He'd always like gnomes. Unpredictable at best, maddening at worst, they were almost as good at mischief as halfling's were, and seemed to have twice the fun at it. And mischief was something Tristan always enjoyed.

'House Merinuk? Is our reputation growing that fast? I wonder....' Tristan was suspicious by nature, but couldn't deny his curiosity. He badly wanted to know what was going on that they needed such people as the Favored were reported to be. Sure things might go wrong. But they might go very right. You never knew until you rolled the dice. And until he smelled con, there was no reason not to go along, right? As long as the could make sure the others would keep their composure.

Waiting for any conversation to die down, he spoke with s smirk. "Well met Gymenzious! Would you mind giving us a bit of time to collect ourselves?"

(((OOC: Tristan's statement will come after any conversations the others wish to have with the pair. He's hoping to have a small and quick conference with the group.)))

8/10, would be teased again.*

But seriously, I've read some of the other snippets, and its still interesting. Good work.

*In the interest of full disclosure, getting a 10/10 requires either dragons or star wars-esque space fights.

The familiars question I can help with. If you're willing to burn a feat, there are several cool options depending on your caster level, alignment and known languages (Yes this is a thing).

Off the top of my head, possibilities include, but are not limited to: badger, monstrous spider, blink dog, worg, and wyrmling dragon.

That last one has some hefty prereqs though. Might be good to pick something else, and pick up your dragon later, Pete.

Thanks for putting me onto that, Ayrn. I'll run it by Grugg. It would make the hexblade levels good for something other than prereqs.

Standard classes are nice.

BUT A STANDARD CLASS DOESN'T LET ME SNEAK ATTACK FROM FIFTEEN FEET AWAY WHILE PRETENDING TO BE INDIANA JONES.

Clearly, one of these is superior to the other.

Hexblade is a base class from one of the Complete series... adventurer or warrior, I forget which at the moment. Its a weak fighter that trades in bonus feats for light spell progression. REally light. But can cast with off hand while wearing light armor, and has a neat class ability.

Lasher is a prestige class from Sword and Fist. It's a class specializing in whips and whip-daggers, and gains class abilities necessary to make those weapons really usable. It gains a low sneak attack, and mainly just buffs the whip.

Ok. Character submitted. Human Hexblade 5/Lasher 3. Don't count on him for arcane support though, he only has two spells known and two casts per day.

Specializes in the whip-dagger. Can sneak attack, cannot trap find or lock pick.

I might be blanking bad. I didn't see character creations specifics, so I went back to the thread for Favored. 34 Point buy, right?

Also, would Craft: Leather working allow me to make leather armor, or would I also need Craft: Armor smithing?

Enchanting rapier with Spell Storing. Storing Spiritual Weapon spell to start. Enchanting masterwork chain shirt with Fortification, Light.
Purchasing +1 Amulet of Natural Armor. Should come out to a neat 5000 gold.

As I mentioned in other thread, spell list links are broken, at least for me. I can't see what fundamentals or mysteries are available to the character.

Feel kinda meh. I'll look it up somewhere else later. Might use it, might go another way.

Bah. Maybe its just my computer, but that site is giving me trouble. No spell lists will open when I click the links, so I'm flying blind.

And if thats straight out of the books, I'll take your word for it... though I feel like I maybe have too many skill points? Idk, maybe not.

Going to bed now. Will work things out later.

For the record, I'm not working anything up yet. Shade Blade is homebrew, so I need DM approval.

Trying to put together a character in case you need me. Was thinking of trying a Shade Blade, which is a Rogue spinoff with some neat offensive abilities, but no sneak attack.

Whaddya think?

Personally, I'd prefer picking up where we left off. I reread the entire thread, and its got me hyped up again. I want to build our group's reputation one shaky, bumbling, completely mis-managed step at a time.
