Due to the height of the dune and the numerous beings around the zombies, their attention is soon averted as Crowe and Reynard sprint pass them, easily able to evade them, running closer towards the "sprinters" Doc Klick is not far behind them, as he bore his two shields, warding off any blows that might potentially hit him.

Soon enough, a yelp of pain resounded from one of the elves as the 2nd sprinter, farthest away from the group caught up with one of the elves. (E3). Judging by the way the elf held his arm, he was slashed. He launched a feeble counter attack but the sprinter deftly dodged, moved behind him and shoved his claws deep within his abdomen, drawing his final breath. As the man slumped to the ground, the sprinter knelt down and started feasting on his flesh. However he soon stopped as he realized there was more prey to be had.

Meanwhile, the other sprinter and the 1st elf were locked in battle, the elf with his dagger, attempting to slash at the zombie and the zombie with his sharp claws. No blood was shed in that moment.

Trossach, an arrow nocked, steadied his breath as he attempted to get a good shot off at the 1st sprinter. After a few moments, he let loose the arrow, the deadly projectile arced through the air, from atop this distance, it was relatively simple sending the arrow 90 feet away. The missile pierced the zombies flesh, embedding itself within it's undead body but it appeared to pay no mind. (5 dmg). Swiftly nocking another arrow, he prepared to let loose more bolts. (Missed once, hit once, another 8 dmg)

Reynard, Doc Klick, and Crowe cornered the 1st sprinter, with the Thri-kreen poised to prevent a blow. The pair moved together, attempting to attack together. They worked well, slashing and dodging though the sprinter did not bother to attack them, but rather it was focused on the elf. With Reynards and Doc Klicks shields, they managed to protect the elf so that he did not suffer any harm. Reynard managed to land a shallow slash (7dmg) across it's leg as it was distracted with Crowe. As the zombie snarled at Reynard, shifting it's attention, Crowe stabbed at it dexterously with his rapier, managing to twist the blade as it pierced it's lung. (11 dmg with sneak attack, from the three of them, 31 dmg.). The sprinters form was broken, barely able to stand but with it's final moment, it slashed at the elf, doing minimal damage as doc Klick interceded with his shield. (4 dmg)

However, the slower zombies slowly shuffled closer and closer, while the second sprinter prepared to run at them. The bodies of the fallen elves did not move. Yet.

I went on a "vacation" type thing but we went a day early and I just got back tonight. I meant to post on friday that there'll be a delay but now everythings back on track. Map update will be pumped out in approximately half an hour!

Goodness I forgot how to link images like before. If someone could remind me how, I'd appreciate that greatly. I'll have an update detailing what's happening within the night/ early morning.

Edit: Figured it out!

2nd edit: I rolled stealth checks for you guys with low DC as the dune you're on is really high up, about 45 feet high. Since Nomad you just said you'd try to hit with your bow, I just kept you up there, raining arrows basically. If you want me to change something just lemme know.

As the group watched, the elves fight battled on, the sounds of combat appeared to be going farther and farther away as they retreated. Though it appeared to be a losing battle, the elves could not run away from the two sprinters and the other corpses were soon catching up.

Suddenly, Crowe and Reynard charged down the dune, with Reynard letting out a war cry and everybody appeared to stop. Then the elves leapt into action, shooting arrows with an increased vigor. Crowe and Reynard caught up with a few of the stragglers, Crowe struck with his rapier, piercing it in the head (dealing max dmg, 17 dmg) with Reynard following up with a warhammer smash to the face. As the body crumpled to the ground, it seemed to swell sligtly and a spray of noxious liquid, similar to an acid splashed amidst the two. Reynard quickly used his shield to protect the both of them and they managed to resist most of the damage. ((2 dmg each person).

Doc Klik didn't immediately jump into the fray but as his companions charged into the battle, he prepared his shields and ran after them, trying to provide them with any cover he could possibly give them.

The rest of the companions did not move, deeming this an unnecessary battle and they watched the fight progress.

The other zombies were rather slow and they lumbered towards you. Essentially half the zombies have started lumbering towards you but the "sprinters" are still after the other elves.

((I'm just going to give you guys some time to decide what you'd like to do again. I'm probably goin to post round by round unless you'd prefer another way. Will put out a small map since we're in combat.))

Yea i realize now that issues like these might take up more time than the week permits

I'll have an update tomorrow guys

And Shield would you be fighting and then just trying to distract? Not fighting to the death are you?

And just to clarify, no one would be helping? Aside from maybe Trossarch with his bow?

Keeper, looks like you'll have to edit your post as Crowe would have his pack with him.

i was hoping more that it would tangle em up as it's still a web and yea this is an interesting class.

concerning thrown items, shield will be able to give you more info pertaining to 3.5e but in 5e, range is 20/60 where 20 is the normal range but 60 is the maximum range where you have to roll with disadvantage.

Subject: I might be wrong but...

1. In 5e if a character gets to 0 wisdom, then they essentially don't perceive anything at all and are practically useless in combat. I was hoping that would happen here as the web gives them -1 a round plus -1d4 wis if you set it on fire again. ((assuming they fail the rolls)
2. No idea
3. He mentioned earlier that we can feel free to post in whatever order. He will resolve it in initiative order I believe? But i remember clearly he said do not feel obligated to post in order of initiative

@nomad
2 zombies are moving fast, practically at a sprint. You judge that they are able to move at roughly twice the speed of the other zombies, so maybe about 50 feet per round (six seconds). You're unable to tell how long they can keep that sprint up for however.

Mapping is in the 5e book as a possible action. Not needed at all but if you are ever lost, you'd have advantage on all checks to make sure that you could find your way back again. I believe as a ranger in your favoured terrain you can still do other things and remain alert to danger. So you won't have disadvantage/ penalties to perception checks. If you're making a map for instance, I'd probably rule you to have disadvantage on perception checks or if you're foraging, I might do a flat negative 3 or 4 to the roll depending on the terrain.

okay i'll go for once a week then but i'll try to make them meaningful posts.

Concerning fighting, as a suggestion, you guys don't have to go all out but could rather fight from long range then press on once the elves have gone.

morrigu, you're going to be running out of survival days after tonight

Oh btw guys, I completely forgot to ask you this.
What does everyone want to do while they march? Scavenge for food, watch out for threats, make a map and some other stuff in the 5e book that I don't remember.

We've established a sleeping order

Savis regards the bandits and immediately shifts into his hybrid form, going onto two feet. He looked like a human except the canines that were exposed as he curled his lip with distaste and the tufts of black fur on his body, his hands and his chest. He had already looked at his companions and realized that he was probably the most sturdy one there.

Wanting to protect them, he ran ahead 20 feet, spinning a shimmering dream Web in his hands as he ran. He stopped, and then flung the dream Web ahead of him, trying to entangle as many people as possible to give his team mates some breathing room.

((Shift into hybrid form to increase con, then casting dream web. Spell save 15. Will post the actual spell for your convenience.

Dream Web (Ex)
A dream spider can spin webs just like a monstrous spider of the same size but its webs carry an iridescent hue, making them easy to notice (Spot DC 15). Any animal, humanoid, giant, or monstrous humanoid that comes in contact with these webs experiences strange hallucinations, taking 1 point of Wisdom damage per round of contact. A DC ## Fortitude save negates this damage. If the webs of a dream spider are burned, they create a spread of poisonous gas in a 10-foot radius. This gas deals 1d4 points of Wisdom damage to all creatures in the area (not just to those susceptible to contact with webs as listed above). A DC ## Fortitude save halves this damage. The cloud of colorful vapor remains for only a single round before dissipating harmlessly.))

I think maybe i'll do what Tann says, majority rules type of thing if people don't post fast enough.

@nomad, you have a bow you can use. I might have to switch up your weapons as I don't have the stats for those. I think you got them from the 4th edition handbook so I'll have to experiment.

@kaelynn Okay that should be fine. One thing I'd like to note are clerics aren't really all too common. Warlocks who get their power from the sorcerer kings are, paladins that get their power from the elemental planes aren't as common but they're common enough that no one would report them, but clerics calling sacred flames down is beyond the ability of the sorcerer king so just be wary.

This is also another warning to Nimu.

Sorry if it seems unfair

okay, quick question for my magic missile, i have two projectiles I believe? Correct me if I'm wrong.

As well, how much of the dream web can I put up during the surprise round? Will they prevent them from reaching my allise as welL?

Collectively, you all decided to wait, watching the elves fight these monsters off.

You saw that the elves used many arrows and eventually, a zombie with cracked, broken armour fell to the ground, lifeless. Suddenly as it fell, it's body seemed to burst, pouring out a spray of putrid green liquid in all directions, to a distance of about 5 feet. 7 zombies left. The five others clambered on relentless, moving very slowly but the other one, the ones with relatively cleaner armour appeared to run very quickly, sprinting clumsily after the elves. All but one managed to retreat, still using their arrows against the zombies. This elvish man dropped his bow and drew his blade.

The elf fought furiously, slashing at the zombies bodies and nimbly dodging their attacks. Despite the zombie's speed, they did not seem adept at using their hands and teeth to fight.

However as soon as the group of zombies approached the elvish fighter, he appeared to retch and he had to cover his nose. These zombies were able to grasp at the man quickly, having better motor control over their bodies and soon, he was overpowered.

The elves shot their arrows and managed to take down another one but they had lost another companion.

((Alright guys, I rolled a nat 20 for your perception roll so you guys got a ton of information. If you want to wait for a minute or so to see if the fallen elf gets back up, I can quickly post that. You can decide whether you want to fight, press on and evade or do something else that I haven't thought of.))

Don't worry about offending me at all, I ask and accept advice at any time because we're all playing together and I want to make it as enjoyable as possible for all of us.

Concerning the pacing, I'd like to make it a bit more quicker, I'll honestly try to get posts out every day on late sunday to early monday but this week was weird because i didn't know what everyone wanted to do. Map update will be up so you guys can decide what you wanna do as well.

@keeper, that'd actually be pretty good. I'll post something along those lines, thank you

@KaelynrnrnI thought about that, about having a thing that would allow you to replenish the earth but then I figured why wouldn't it be easily fixed then? Why wouldn't a group of spell casters just dedicate their lives to spending their slots to fix the land. I figured that would be too easy.. So perhaps I'll allow land to be made into neutral after much effort but to make it luscious land, you'd have to plant a garden and expend a lot of effort to make it viable enough for spell slots.

After all, it's a lot easier to destroy than to fix something right? Defiling should have a lot of benefit in the short term but preservers go in this for the long run.

Savis is down for anything you guys wanna do. He'll suggest stuff but he's more of a follower than a leader...

So if you ever wanna order him around to do something, he'll prolly do it!

(esp for Nimu's char lol)
