Awesome, I'll just act out your plan as best as possible for how you plan to deal with zombies as you approach the ruins, again the zombies are really bad and the threat of death isn't too much of an issue

Shield, you get an extra 2d4 points of healing when you use a hit die, courtesy of our two healers, Sir Reynard and Doc Klick

Well you definitely seem like a good DM (From what I've seen)

I'll give it a shot if no one else is going to step forward

What's the commitment? Once a week I'm guessing?

I'm hesitant to as I joined Tann's game previously and that was a bit of a disaster If you can't find anyone else within the next little bit, I'd be down to play, I love the lore in shadowrun and would definitely be willing to try this out

I think we have three players at the moment.

Nomad D2: Something like a college/ university professor (I believe)
Bromern Sal: Colum MacRath, motorcycle biker
Hammer - Preston Prowler [a Columnist who owns and oversees a Soup Kitchen somewhere in downtown Toronto]
Eol- Haze, a street kid, stoner and a thief

Obviously theres more to everyone char but I don't wanna share too much without your permission

Concerning virtue and vice, yea you can have any virtue and vice you'd like! Preferably something broad such as wrath, lust, charity. For a basis, I would suggest one of the 7 deadly sins or one of the 7 heavenly virtues.

I'll drop a link later on to the WoD core rulebook. Will have skill explanations, examples of some basic stuff and examples of virtues.

Subject: some final mechanics

Hey all, so to finish up, we're going to introduce a really unique system called willpower. ((Maybe not that unique actually))

Basically, you can spend a willpower point (which is equal to resolve plus another stat, i forget, might be composure) to increase your dice pool by 3 which exponentially increases a chance of success.

You can regain willpower by a couple of ways, you can risk will power on a roll which means you dedicate a large amount of willpower to do a task and you get a plus 3 to roll, if you succeed, then you get that will power point and another back. If you fail, it tuns into a dramatic failure (something really bad happens)

Then you regain a willpower point every day.

Now this is where it gets fun. You can get a vice and a virtue. Now this vice and virtue doesn't mean that you're automatically a glutton or a saint but it just represents what really drives your character.

So for instance, using the football character, he could have the vice: pride.
Whenever you indulge in your chosen vice, you regain a point of will power. So this means that if for instance, he saw someone pretty in the street and he made it out of his way to flex or w/e to try to get a compliment from her and she gave him one, he would get a point of willpower.

Then his virtue could be something like, honesty. When he sticks with his virtue despite the possible consequences or contributes meaningfully to that, then he regains a point of willpower as well. So let's say he broke a window and he could've blamed it on his team mate but he instead says that he did it, he would regain a will power point.

Super cool cause it gives a mechanical benefit for roleplaying your character well instead of doing the optimal thing.

Once we get this sorted out, first session can happen next weekend! Just gotta pump out the map and we're good to go

okay i'll roll for you! Because of your and Doc Kliks healing, you get an extra 2d4 i think healing when you use a hit die? So that'll be good

He'll be able to move, just slowly. He's not too proud to say he won't allow you to carry him.

okay you guys can engage them, I'd rather not spend weeks fighting so is it alright if I just roll attacks for everyone? Im going to assume that strays you'll be able to kill, maybe when it gets to a group, then I'll tell you and you can just quickly tell me what you want to do and then I'll do some quick rolls.

I'd rather not waste ages doing combat

I'm not the most experienced DM but I will say that I will try really hard to host a fun game for all of us so don't be shy, if you'd like to play just say so!

Savis looked at Zick and smiled, nodding eagerly to himself. When he was told what to do he listened intently and said

"Of course! Whatever I can do to help!" And he bounded forward, going forward to do so. ((note if he passes by Iara, he would blush heavily and give her a wide range as he's feeling embarrassed))

EDIT: ((For clarity's sake, Savis is going to obey Zicks command and carry/ drag all of the bodies to a spot where they would be easily seen, a brightly lit spot and he would line them up for ease of access and so that everyone can see))

It won't take the long rest, I'm not an asshole

I'd say with your strength and stamina, plus if people helped you, maybe a half hour, an hour and a bit if you don't get help.

2) You can certainly think so. At least thats what Aren is saying
3) He's a "bard" but he ain't an actual bard. Magic is super rare in these lands. Judging from what he's said and what you gather, he has He has a dagger and a bow at his side.
4) what do you mean objective? If you mean find the ruins he is wanting to get to there to (from the templars)
5) And yes you are correct in that aspect, he believes there are other zombies waiting and lurking. I don't know if i made this clear but the "dark" energy that possessed the body came from the defiled land as well

Subject: Late post but finally done, Sunday will be update days from now on

As thoughts that weren't his own filled his head, he flinched at the mental sound of the thri-kreens voice but he didn't do any aggressive moves.
"Thanks.". He says, with a puzzled wariness as he begins to wonder why he was saved.
"My name's Aren. I'm extremely grateful for your help. He attempts to sit up slightly but winces. ((He's still at 1 hp right now, another hour and he can rest a bit more.)) As he speaks more, he seems more educated than most, his voice light and almost graceful, very pleasant to listen to. ((If anyone searched his pack)), you would find that he has a small wooden flute on him.

At the mention of his allies running, he scoffs and just mutters "Typical". With that he says "Ask any questions you want. I'm in your debt.".

((For the sake of times convenience Aren will answer big question such as how did the zombies come, how are they rising, what to do with their bodies and such. If you have any questions, I'll answer it in the Q & A forum and then post it again at the end of the week. Sound good? Btw really sorry bout the late post, I just started taking judo and school work was piling up so I didn't have much time ))

"You're probably wondering about those zombies. We ventured over there, where the templars told us to go.".

he points towards the blackened landscape, north west of where you are .
"Seemed like we were going the right way, the air was stale, the land just felt.. Old." He shakes his head, repressing a shudder

"We were walking through there, being careful, wary of any danger. But then something grabbed Fyrian from the sand. A hand just shot out and clawed at his ankle and he went down. The moment he yelled, more of those.. Walking corpses.. They came out, started walking towards us. We didn't sign up for this and we broke ranks, started retreating wildly. We were just friends that were playing at hunters." a slight pause .
"Some dark.. Mist or something flew from the soil and went inside him. He opened his eyes and just started sprinting after us. We kept running but another one of us went down. He became a runner too. We just started running, fast and faster away but the sprinters were starting to gain on us. Those other zombies, they kept walking after us but eventually some of them stopped. Just fell onto the sand. I didn't look to see what happened to them, I was too afraid.".

At the question of what to do with the bodies
"You can just burn them. I think that's what they would've wanted."
At the mention of leaving, he nodded. "I'll go with you. All of us dropped our packs when we ran, our food is there if nothing has gotten to them. That and ~ ! ~

An interruption from morrigu

"Your skin may be white, but my elf blood is the same as yours. Remember that. Know it as a truth older than time beyond time."

Aren stiffened, getting increasingly nervous. She stared at him, her dark skinned face threatening him without her moving a muscle. Her eyes bored into his own and even though he felt very deeply afraid, he also felt oddly entranced by them and he couldn't bear to rip his gaze from theirs. Eventually she tore her gaze from his own and he felt like he was jolted awake, flinching away and looking at the ground. He exhaled shakily and didn't speak for a few minutes, attempting to shift further away but occasionally sneaking a glance towards her.

Finally after those few minutes ended he finished saying

"I won't be able to survive on my own. I'm not the best fighter, I'll admit. I just like telling stories. I'll be ready to leave in a bit, I just need to rest some more.".

((Short rest finished, just wondering if you guys wanna do the long rest? Ochit is right in the sense that if you rest you will run out of food, as well there's the prospect of food from the fallen packs so maybe that could help you out? Or you could raid from other people, That could go well too. Also whoever wants me to roll hit dice for them lemme know))

I believe the main question you guys had was how bad was your hp.

I think you guys took little injuries, they didn't manage to get a single hit and you only took damage from explosive goop. So everyones health is on the the char sheet forums.

again level up as soon as you guys find the ruins so, that'll come soon

Savis stood with his allies, his rapier held loosely in his hand though it seemed like they were finally finished. Taking a moment, he shifted back into his human form (I believe that was my last shift of the day) and he also sheathed his sword.

Smiling with an almost goofy giddiness at the others, he exclaimed happily. "We did it!".

He didn't even think to loot the bodies but would be keeping an eye on everyone else to see what he could do to help

I kinda glanced over it

Basically it's a subdivision in a skill that you already have that shows you have an increased amount of experience with that particular aspect which mechanically gives you an extra die when you roll checks related to that particular action

So using the jock again, he has the following

Mental (Tertiary-4 dots total)
Academics
Computer: *
Crafts:*
Investigation:*
Medicine
Occult (Zombies):*
Politics
Science

So for this I decided, he spends a decent amount of time on his computer, he has experience trying to find things, he's taken a wood working course before and he has a secret love of the occult. Particularly zombies. Now all of the dots are only 1 so that means very very limited knowledge of everything.

Physical (Primary- 11 dots total)
Athletics (Football/Running):***
Brawl:**
Drive:*
Firearms:**
Larceny
Stealth:*
Survival:*
Weaponry:*

This one is going to be a lot, a total of 11 dots! He's obviously skilled in running, gotten in a decent amount of fights ( Remember, 2 dots is average!), knows how to drive, has some experience with a gun (goes hunting with his parents perhaps which also accounts for the stealth and survival skill) and perhaps he plays with a knife as part of his image and knows how to use it (to limited degree)

Social(Secondary-Total of 7 dots)
Animal Ken:*
Empathy:
Expression:
Intimidation:**
Persuasion:*
Socialize:**
Streetwise:*
Subterfuge:

So he has general stats but note how he has Occult (Zombies), athletics (Running) and for the third one, he knows how to flirt well so I'll put in socialize (Flirting).

This means whenever he does an action relating to that specific subdivision. (I.e. he wants to remember something about zombies) he can roll a die. Let's look at two different examples

He wants to remember the weaknesses of vampires

He would roll his intelligence plus occult. Only a dice of 2 for this general occult roll.

However let's say he wants to remember how to kill a zombie or any special information about a zombie.

He would again roll an intelligence plus occult check, for a total of 2 dice. However, because he has "Expertise" in this specific area, he gains an extra die, for a total of 3 dice to roll!

The specialty you can choose can be anything you want, I can vet if I find it's too broad or I'll suggest something else (just broader, not something entirely different) if I find it's too narrow to be of use.

Example could be weaponry (chef knives)
I'd just ask why don't you have weaponry (Knives) instead, that way you get the extra die more?

If it's like weaponry (Guns) I'd ask you.

Which type of guns are you really proficient with? Why are you so good with that gun? And we could narrow it to rifles, pistols or any thing you can think of.

Clear? Again ask me anything you want to/need to!

Great! I'll take a look at it soon

If anyone needs help, I can also go in the chat room and we can work on it together!

((One thing to note, You can group different groups with different tiers.

For instance, the jock that I had earlier, I could have his attributes go

Physical (Primary), Social (Secondary), then Mental (tertiary)

But let's say he only played football to look good, he actually just wants to be with all the ladies (or men, I'm not judging)

Then I could go Physical (secondary), Social (Primary) then mental (Tertiary).

They don't have to correspond with each other. It was just a coincidence that that happened.

Either way i feel like it'll make the most sense if they do correspond but it's not required
