Not much to say here

Bloodbank doesn't have any other ideas but he would stress this again, as long as innocents don't get hurt, he's okay with whatever we need to do

Savis looks enthusiastically at Zick.

"I'll go with you if you don't mind! I'm pretty helpful.. I mean. I can help you carry stuff at least..".

((OOC: in response to Iara))

Savis looked at her, her anger as she talked about this war and the lack of response by the guard. He didn't want to go to war.. not really. Well, he was only 16..

As Iara accepted joining the team, he spoke up.

"I'm not.. I never wanted to get involved with wars. I don't think I can make a difference. But. If you guys want to do that, I'll do my best to help. Cause we're friends. If you want to stop a war, count me in."

Well I'm catching up right now, hoping to finish all the posts and get a post of my own out in an hour or so.

I really like what's going on so far, great way to start a shadowrun campaign imo. I was trying to think of what I could do (for my own) and i kept drawing blanks lol

edit: concerning dice rolls, do we roll or do you roll for us when we state intentions?

Colum quietly followed Norman as the jeers and booing stopped down, sending a quick text to Pastor Dominic. A reply came back almost instantly.

A man in white with horns stealing souls? Never heard of that... But I'll check the books. I do know that demons have horns and steal souls but.. they've always been tiny, usually invisible and ugly. Like the classic imp... Lord help me I need coffee, I've been staying up late researching on everything ever since.. Yknow.. I'll get back to you on that.

Norman is walked down the stairs and forcefully thrown to the floor by a pair of angry looking men. One of them even stops and spits at him before heading upstairs. None of the patrons stop to help him though again a few looks of pity.

((I assume you would stop by to help him? if not i'll edit))

You help Norman to his feet and he responds kindly to you.

"Thank you young fellow. I. I really appreciate that.". He sighs for a moment and then says. "Let me get you a drink for your kindness.".

--------------------------------------------------------
Back at the roof of the owl

The few people who spoke suggested useless things, such as drugs, the internet, the devil, They were the cause of this evil. Nothing useful. These people, sitting here, trying to find the solution. When really, they don't even know what truly lies waiting for them in the dark.

You take some time, drinking your beer and you try to listen to any conversation, the whispers that people are too afraid to say out loud.

A conversation between two girls sitting near you.
A blonde girl, young, wearing a cross around her neck saying "I feel bad for him. He's a nut. But he's a sweet old nut.".

Her friend, someone of asian ethnicity with shoulder length black hair says to her.

"Yeah... Well.. I did see the man at the school one day. Then 4 days later the valedictorian went.. yeah.".

"You don't actually believe him do you?"

"No, no.. I mean. It's just weird right.". A shake of the head. "Nevermind, let's just listen.".

Aside from that conversation, it's just the same useless drivel that was said earlier. No one defended Norman, at least not outwardly. Though, you can wonder whether or not others have seen the man in white. And whether they too, are whispering about how he is the cause...

Subject: a very late post

After the rest, Ochit picked up Aren and the group went onward, not really having a plan other than eliminate all zombies.

The air grew still, the environment just felt.. Foreign. Dark. A slight chill crept around you even though the sun beat down from above and the heat was oppressively suffocating. As you creep further into the desolate land, the sand itself seems to darken and upon closer examination, it turns out to be nothing more than ash.

Aren looks visibly worried and he says to everyone in a mutter.

"It wasn't like this before.". He looks nervous but points further north west, "our packs should be an hour longer that way. That was when we first encountered the.. corpses.".

The next hour, progress was slow, a wary eye kept out for any enemies. Eventually, the packs were found and supplies were replenished. ((will get an extra 4 days for everybody)

Aren gulped as he saw the broken and torn packs, he looked around extremely nervously. If everyone stopped at the exact same movement, there was absolutely no sound, the land felt dead. Hollow.

It felt like this land was sapping at your very strength. But still, the journey pressed on, walking further north west. The threat of zombies was always prevalent but surprisingly, nothing was seen.

At the end of the eight hour walk, when the sun was setting and talk of setting up camp was made, in the far distance a sudden blast of wind was made, wind that shifted ash and sand in everyone's face, your eyes, your mouth, your clothes. It clung to your skin and the urge to cough is unbearable.

As the dust begins to settle, everyone brings their eyes to the gust of air and surprisingly, a lone structure stands tall, about a story or two tall but really small. Like an old tower of some kind... You guys might be able to get there in about an hour and a half or so but the sun will set soon.

What will you guys do? Set up camp to avoid the cold or press on in the dark and try to get to the structure?

Savis stands with his companions, unsure of what exactly will happen with the guards but always eager to prove himself. He tries his best to find a spell scroll (but fails miserably, he's awful at finding what anything is aside from ingredients)

At the very large payout, his eyes widen and he takes the money rather gratefully. When they all get to an appropriate place to talk, Savis smiles and bounds up and down.

He says eagerly:
"Is there anything else we have to do? We're a team now.. right?"

((Assuming there is going to be an appropriate amount of downtime, Savis will go to the alchemists market and look for healing herbs and what not. If he's going to be at the front line, he figures he'll need a ton of healing potions.))

Also, Hammer that's fine, I'm just gonna pump out a post rn as sunday is our update day but if you wanna back post that's totally okay with me

EDIT: Castle sounds cool btw

EDIT 2: Had to roll for castle, he got 1 success for his investigation roll (I have to read the rules, I'm used to New world of darkness) but that's why you heard that convo

Update days are the sunday but again, feel free to backpost and introduce characters. I'm not too picky about update days but I like to update once a week minimum regardless of whether everyone has updated or not!

Day is thursday, it's late summer, early fall so maybe august 28th or something like that. Year is modern so let's just say it's in the present.

Thursday August 28th 2016.

As for the map, you should be able to zoom into it by clicking on the image on imgur.

Furthermore, the bar isn't on the map as that's a map of downtown and not markham. I'll have to find a map for markham but it's been difficult so far

The Owl, a local pub in Markham.

It's a decent bar, food's nothing amazing, beer's beer. Good place to get smashed, But tonight it's not being used for that purpose. Tonight, a local pastor of a church, Saint Patrick's has organized a meeting. Pastor Jeremy, has rented out the rooftop terrace, offering free food, drink and the opportunity to talk about the.. strange things happening around here.

Pastor Jeremy is a middle aged Asian man with black hair and glasses, he's a kind man but a bit zealous about his faith, having to be told to "turn it down a notch" occasionally. Tonight though, he does not look like himself. He looks drained, like he hasn't slept in days.

On the rooftop, the moon and stars shine brightly, the sky is clear and a gentle wind flows through the street. About 40 to 50 people have showed up, some of them standing at the back with disinterest, others grabbing as much food and drink as possible, some are sitting at tables with friends, some are by themselves.

Eventually Jeremy gets up to talk.
"Hello Everyone. I'm glad you could make it. Feel free to eat and drink as much as you'd like. It's on the churchs tab." Some laughter. He smiles weakly. "Now as you've all come to know, there's been a few... disasters happening here lately. Bad things.". A brief pause. A school getting shot up by the valedictorian. A faithful law abiding church goer robbing a bank. Professors losing themselves to drugs. Homeless people disappearing, only to wind up dead somewhere in an alleyway. So many people, good people, becoming alcoholics lately. These thoughts flood everyone's mind.

He continues "But I've organized this today so that we can put a stop to it. So that we can go out and show these people what they're doing to themselves, to the community!". He goes on for about another minute, his eyes burning with a passionate fire, even as his body looks like it's like crap.

"What can we do to fix this?" he practically roars, trying to incite the crowd. A few seconds, total silence. No one responds. Then someone raises their hand slowly and asks

"What about the stranger in white?"

A few groans, someone tells him to shut up. It's an older man in the community named Norman, a bit of an eccentric. Eventually he yells out over everybody "I saw him! He has horns and he's stealing their souls! I swear it!"

He yells unintelligibly as he gets dragged downstairs and kicked out of the street, a few people look sympathetically at him but most of the crowd is telling him to "Stop wasting our time you old nut!"

Pastor Jeremy smiles wearily and calls out "Any other suggestions?"

Savis maintained his energy and enthusiasm, practically bouncing up and down as he saw Zick easily pick every single lock. He was silently amazed as his companions accomplished things he barely understood. When Zick was finished, he would bound up and say with a big grin

"Good job Zick!".

Savis was equally.. no even more entranced by Iara. He subconsciously was keeping track of her as she moved throughout the room, her dark eyes sweeping through everything. The magic that she cast... It was so much more different than the one he was taught. He was also amazed by it, smiling with wonder to himself.

Savis listened to Iara whenever she spoke, his eyes slightly to the left of her face as he felt.. weird.. At the mention of necromancy, he made a face of childish disgust, as if he drank beer for the first time.

He didn't comment on it but if asked whether he wanted it, he would say.

"No thanks. I'm not really into that kind of stuff.".

Savis tried to stay as unobtrusive as possible, just helping out when people asked for his help but he would try not to "step on their toes".

Great, we definitely shouldn't be forgetting those bands then!

Savis won't be exactly itching to return stuff to their rightful owner unless he's emotionally invested in it somehow. (I.e. wedding ring or something personal)

Concerning the loot, He's be down to safeguard it or something. Locking it also seems like a good idea, although locks can be broken into...

Although what are the chances of someone finding this place right?

Heya guys, I know that I haven't been the most active DM but it seems like everyone is a bit busy with RL stuff.

Are you guys still interested in playing?

Edit: If no one responds within a week, I'll assume this game fizzled out. If anyone wants to restart it when they get less busy, I'd be down to do that

I think I'm leaning more to an unofficial town hall meeting somewhere in markham (smaller suburb).

That way it makes more sense (to me) to have all of your chars in the same place at the same time.

Seems to me like some people wouldn't want to be at the town hall meeting, might get spooked by it?

I'm gonna pump out a first post tonight tho. Might not be the best quality but I really wanna get this game started! It's been far too long.

Also will be giving you guys "merits" based off of your background soon. It's just some bonuses and the like
