I have had a number of inn members ask me about Rocinante, the Firefly/Serenity game I GM, and whether they could get a spot on the game. So i am wondering if I have enough people to start another game entirely.

Firefly is a Jose Whedon TV series that captured the hearts of many although the network executives killed it after one year.

So? Are there Browncoats out there looking for ship and crew?

I will be using the cortex system but it is very easy to set up characters. I would need at least 4 players. I know I have a mechanic already so you need a Pilot, a PR man (gunfighter), a Captain and a Mouthpiece (someone who gets the jobs). A doctor is also good to have as well.

I have an idea that the crew will own a small but fast ship and you work courier angles more than cargo. The ship is an Arrowhead class and will have a unknown history to it. Basically, it was found adrift by one of the crew, he/she rescued it and then laid claim to it. It has a very fast engine (a malarkey 17) so it allows you to get the edge on delivery runs, but is hard to find parts.

So sound off if you are interested. Posting is once a week. I want fresh faces this time around so if you are already part of Rocinante, you cannot join. I want to finish my Rautenberg game before I start this one so I will have the time but we can do up characters in the meantime.

*laughs* Sorry Alacrity! I'm doing my 'first thing in the morning Inn-haunt', and saw that pop up. I love the Rocinante campaign, and have been enviously watching it play out since I first got here. Glad that you're thinking about starting up another Firefly based game!

Side Note: Do I need to get ahold of the Cortex system? I don't have it already, but its totally do-able for me since they lowered the price from 29.99 to 9.99 online.

It is not necessary as I will post what you need to know and I even have a "simple" system for those who find it overwhelming.

Gawds is this tempting. I always end up flaking out of your games though... not your fault. I'm just a big mess like that. Well I'm not committing myself here but we'll see what happens. I have always wanted to try a Firefly game though...

I was a rampant Firefly watcher and was very upset when they cancelled it.

I would love to play if u would have me. I don't know much about rules but I can learn and if you want examples of my RPing you can check out the 'Footprints' CIT game.

Don't worry about the rules too much as most mechanics of the game are controlled from my end. You have Attributes, you have Assets (Qualities that help you) and complications (Qualities that get in the way). After that is skills and equipment and you are off. It is a easy system to slip into and I will help along the way.

Pilot, Mechanic, PR Man, and a Medic - good start.

As I was one of the people who inquired I, of course, would love to find a place in your game. I just started watching the series so I still have a lot to learn about the world (or the 'verse I suppose ) and I am a little concerned about spreading myself too thin with games but if this is going to take some time to get started then I think I'll be okay.

I'm not sure what part I would be inclined to play, pilot was my first thought but I see you already have one of those. Perhaps I could try my hand at Captain but you may want a player more versed in the system (pun intended) for that role.

Either way, I'm very happy to see this game is starting up!

This will be modified most likely but this is a general idea.

A lot of player stay away from command roles because every depends on them to make decisions. We can always do this as some or all have a part ownership in the ship and therefore there is no "captain". However, you will need a person as the "go to" for contacts and the like. Now that could be the medic or pilot as well. Aways good to have multiple skills with a small crew or else you are adrift if the pilot is hurt.

I was considering having my medical geezer be an amateur pilot or something but I thought that would take away from the "true" pilot.

Seems like it WILL need modifying, as 4 cabins aren't enough for us all ^^

I am super excited and love the firefly series. I hope I can join too. I bet this could be very fun and exciting.
