Subject: Isilmiri

With the information that they had found so far, Isilmiri calls the entire group together. "These are all the bits and pieces of information about the village we have found so far, . Now we need to go through them and figure out what best fits with what we wish to discover.

Isilmiri read copy of information the brothers had made from what they had found.. She reads aloud about the lovers who poisoned his love by accident then killed himself and the girl’s father and concluded with, “That happened almost 150 years before there was any mention of the troubles with the sea creatures." Isilmiri lays that copy aside and picks up the next. Reading it aloud to all and then adds, “I don't think this incident with the mage settling the feud, so precipitously, or the then later collapse of his tower and his disappearance has anything to do with the creatures from the sea and happened well after the first appearance of the creatures, . She lays that one to the side as well.

Isilmiri finally reads about the fisherman who found the woman at sea and later that she was tragically killed out of fear and ignorance. “This is the only event we have found do dar that happened very near the sea creatures’ first appearance. And has connections to the sea. What are your thoughts on this matter?”

Isilmiri watch Brother Perrin leave the group to report to his abbot. She sees to her horse before joining the others She takes time to clean off the dust and dirt of their travels before setting foot in the library, such is her respect for the knowledge kept within this walls.

in her many years she has studied, true not in a scholarly way in many years, but she had always been a avid readed. and absorbed a wide variety of what interested her all her life. Isilmiri was glad of the bother that the abbot had lent them during their research. It was not easy going though so much with so little to go one. But over the several days they were there more and more was uncover though it wa not much more than a thimbleful in a pond, considering the size of the library, yet it was more than they had before.

Those bits and pieces they did find were at least pieces of some puzzle but she thought it may well be more than one puzzle that they fit into.

Subject: Brianna's Battle Cry

Though just a juvenile Red Dragon, he hit Brianna with so much force she flew through the air and that was no mean feat. Unfortunately Brianna was hit but fortunately she got hooked by only one huge claw that tore through her armor and flesh. She could feel the burn of the wound and the blood flowing warmly from it.

Brianna did as she had been trained by her instructors, to fall from a running mount or a stricken horse’s back and roll and rise again to be ready for battle or to grab another mount. She rolled into a ball in the air as much as she could. After she hit she rolled to lessen th impact as much as she could. None-the-less, her breath whooshed out with the force of the impact, Brianna had to take a breath before anything else. Even as she sucked air into her lungs she rolled to her feet and stood with a wince. Her thought was, "Amaterrana, give me strength." Her actions were to stand and her intentions on standing, were to move into battle again..

"Brianna, Xuor, and whoever else wants to, finish him." Lorae called out, unnecessarily for Brianna. She took up the great dwarven axe at her side and moved forward to strike the fleeing dragon. She charged the beast trying to prevent it flying away since it was limping badly. Taking aim at the jointure of wing and body she attacked with all the power she could muster. The mighty axe blade glittered in the dapple sunlight as its swing was punctuated with an Amazon battle cry.

I agree the keep as it stands is very rudimentary and sripped down to the basic. THose additions area within the keep or the bailey of the keep are desirable.

Stables , smithy will be outside the keep in the bailey, area between walls of keep and keep itself. I need to look at the picture of the layout again. I have lost of book os ancient castles and such. Another possibility for the lord to to make the current bailey the inner bailey and build another wall around that so there is an inner and outer bailey Greater protection and more room to bring in locals in case of attack. But that is for the future.

Those suggestion sound dgood I will do some research in my boods for any other ideas and submit them here.

Subject: Bronwyn's Day

“How are you finding the Keep” Aelistae inquired of the woman as she returned to the bowl before her. “Is it very different to where you lived before?”

“It is not home, but everyone has been really nice,” Bronwyn add simply and honestly, but then I haven’t lived at home for some years while I trained in magic. I stayed with a retired Wizardess, until just a few months ago. Then we both moved back, to my Grandfather’s farm. It was the least I could do once she was thrown out of her cottage.

Bronwyn sighed softly. “After she passed away I found I could not make a go of being a wizard around home, They all remember me as a child running around our farm herding the geese or goats, which is why I was traveling toward Tethry to find a place to practice and make a living.” She pushed back an errant lock of hair that had escaped from her single long plaited braid.

Sitting down between Dylan and Aelistae after setting down the two bowls of porridge she shakes her head as she responds to Dylan’s comment, “I didn’t cook it this morning, only for the first few days before the cooks arrived. I did share my grandmother’s recipe with them since they liked it so much. I did help mile the cows this morning though. They are short handed in the barn,” Bronwyn said as she ladled a big spoonful of honey into her porridge and added and generous measure of Cream to her bowl.

“I understand that most of you are going out to the mines. When Elendil and I were there that first night some goblins and orcs near the mines and gnolls were in the area too. I was going to scribe a scroll today for fireball but it won’t be done for hours yet. But if you still need it tomorrow it should be ready by then. I hope anyway at least one will. “Bronwyn shares her information about the mine in case it might be of help.

Right after that Bronwyn start the long processes of scribing scrolls. She takes out her spell books and all her materials she set out carefully on the table they had brought her to work on. She had sanded it and smoothed it with bees wax and polished it until it had a soft mellow sheen. She sharpen her quill points and laid several out ready for use as needed, Only then did she uncap the precious and expensive bottle of scroll ink and set to work. Every word had to be precisely copied and the magic enchanted into the written words. She took great care, frequently checking her spell book for accuracy. About four hours later she had one down and set it aside and went to get something for lunch.

Bronwyn went straight to the kitchens. Looking for not much more than a hunk of cheese some bread, and a glass of milk, she nodded in respect to the head chef and chef cook. She waited for them to invite her into their domain. Once given she smiles and enters.

The kitchen is bustling lunch was being prepared for the lord and his family, so she sat off to the side on a tall stool at a sideboard.

“Maisy, Maisy, leave off the churning and help me quick,” the head chef called out to the kitchen girl. “Yes’m” the young girl replies and hurries off from the churn. Bronwyn moved over to her place and took up the abandoned position. Churning butter was a tedious chore but not mentally demanding--one she knows well. Beside she was doing nothing else right and it was a good break from the fine dexterity and constant attention to detail that scribing scrolls was. The steady up and down motion of churning was almost restful.

Finally the Chef and chief cook were done getting the dishes out for the lord and such staff and ate with them.
“Och, I’m fair fashed, desserts are out and the gentry will be done soon,” the chief cook said wiping the perspiration from her brow. The chef looks cool and calm now and is not so demonstratively relieved. The head cook looks about and her eyes light on Bronwyn at the churn. “Lady what are you doing?”

“Churning butter,” replies Bronwyn quietly. This was one of my chores when I was growing up.”

“Why aren’t you in at the meal.” she adds. I could make you something up from what’s come back before kitchen staff gets to it.

“All I need is some bread, cheese, some fresh churned butter,” Bronwyn adds with a wink “will be fine. I will just make a toasted cheese sandwich for lunch. I am not use to all the fine food.” Is there any of the porridge lest from breakfast?”

But it’s not but a cold and congealed lump, miss, what’s left that is.”

“That’s perfect,” replies Bronwyn, just turn it out on a cutting board and I will make you a treat.”

“What’s treat my lady,” asks Maisy as she returns to the butter churn now that last rush to get lunch out was done.

“Just you wait and see,” Bronwyn grins with a wink. Over where the congealed mass of the morning’s porridge was turned out, Bronwyn took up a knife and began slicing it into slabs about 3/4 inches thick and then squares about 3 x 3 inches. Bronwyn picked up a baking sheet and pot of honey and some rolled oats. Taking each square she dipped it in the honey covered it with the rolled oats, and then set it on the baking sheet, When she was done she drizzled a bit more honey on the top and put the pan into one of the still warm ovens. “Now let that stay in there until the porridge cakes are dried out. Then you can eat them either hot or cold themselves or with a dollop of cream on top. Enjoy, and save one for me. My Gran always make those when there were leftovers for us to snack on.”

Bronwyn then toasted her bread and cut a slab of cheese to put between the sliced with some butter and held it over the fire until the cheese melted. She finished up with an apple and one of the freshly baked porridge squares with a dollop of thick cream, compliments of the head cook. Now I have to get back to work. Scrolls won’t scribe themselves.”

Refreshed by her break, and simple meal and the warmth of the kitchen staff to her, Bronwyn went back to scribe her next scroll, taking the same care in preparation and execution with it. Finally with both scrolls sanded and rolled up into her scroll case, Bronwyn stretched stiff muscle unused to sitting so long at a single task. Bronwyn gathered up her cloak and a walking stick and set off for Buttercup’s grave site. One of the woodsmen had set up a stump of a felled tree there near the flowers Elendil had planted where she could stop and sit more comfortably than on the cold ground. It was an unexpected act of kindness from a person she didn’t even really know.

The sun was fading in the west over the mountain and though there would still be light in the sky until it went over the horizon the mountain cast long shadows over the grave site this late in the day.

Cost of materials for item creation is 1/2 cost of item 1/2 of 375 = 187.5 which you have fine.

XP cost is 1/25th cost of item (375

1/25 = .04 not .25 as you made it .25

it is (1/25 x base cost in DMG) 1/25 x 375 = 375/25 = 15 XP PER acroll fof fireball

Miriele'Isilfea who had scouted ahead turned back when the growls of the hobgoblins alerted her to their presences. Her silent call to Smokey brought the fleet front runner back as fast as she could run. Stormy hated Worgs, once they had killed a litter of her cubs, besides hey were warped wolves and an anthema to all true wolves.

Stormy raced through the underbrush and attack the second worgs that leap to attack the dragon-bllo0ded knight. Slashing teeth grabbed a rear leg hamstringing the great twisted beast even as it leaped at Petraak. It went done as the big knight nearly severed it in two.

Miri took out her bow reaching the eage of the fight. Three hobgoblins were advancing on the old fey woman. As quick as a blink she drew notched and fired two arrow at once at the biggest hobgoblin attacking th eold woman. She did not stop with that. Hobgoblins were hard to kill so she notched two more as one even as she noticed a strange thing, now that she had time to survey the situation. Those three Hobgoblins were attacking each other. None-the-less she fired double arrows again. They struck as one in the second hobgoblin of the trio. In the meantime they kept fighting each other. Smoke began to blow between herself and her targets from some source. She was forced to shift her position. Ill luck indeed. It made her wonder if they had a mage or shaman with them. Miri looked around for such a creature perhaps hidden in the forest.

~~Stormy hunt for a hidden hobgoblin~~ Miri's telepathy was strong and clear.

"Brother Perrin, penmanship is art in its own way. This I was told my by teachers. As the artists hand takes up his tools to create his art so does the calligrapher. An artists sees what he wishes to create and then he picks up his tools and creates what he wishes to. So the sculpture of stone creates with chisel and hammer, and as does the painter with his brushes and canvas, each in their own way, no less than the others. It is just expressed in a different manner." Isilmiri explains as it was told to her as a child.

"In the same way a baker who creates a fine load of bread, or and a potter creates a fine pot, it is all artistry."

"That Sylvari sea druid said we would find what we needed at the monastery and so we shall endeavor to do so. It will be another month before those creatures come back, if I understood the villagers from what little they said."

Isilmiri turns to the others. "Well, We have a story to share with others when we return home. S Sea Druid Sylvari. I an quite sure the tale of how that came to be would be most interesting but it is one he is also reluctant to share."

Okay and the edit thanks for the information. I have always used the arrows to show mental thoughts, in this case telepathy between my companion and I.

On another note, Smoky is a real wolf a rather large hybrid. I wouldn't assume to take anything so outre as a shadow or smoke based creature--though that is king of a cool idea though, .

"No, Not quick or easy," agress Isilmiri to Cole. "Mainly because we don't know who or what is behind these attacks.or why. It did not look like it was an overwhelming tribute but then the village is so small that if could be that any loss they suffer in goods, is hurting them," adds in Isilmiri.

"How I wish those people were more forthcoming? Has the tribute always been the same have their been changes in amounts demanded over the years? Usually those who exact tribute always want as much as they can get eventually they up the demands till the situation becomes unsustainable and untenable as well."

When the brash youth with the dirty apron intruded so vociferously into the group demanding that he too be allowed to take part, Miri did not respond. It was not for her to do. For whatever reason they had all been drawn here as it seemed they had, it was not for her to squash his pretensions,

The old magi told his tale to the assembled strangers, each responding to what he said. While Miri listened she also assess the others gathered by there reactions.. The dragon-blooded man one Petraak Dragonborn, by name, was the first to speak up on a challenging tone.

"Then why should we do this? There is no honor, no glory in a quest such as this, old one," Petraak spoke up, speaking more than his mind, as the others nodded slightly in agreement. Miri was not one of those, for her such a request was not so unusual. Such a story as he told was very like the stuff of legends and tales of great adventures she had read so avidly as a child, as was the promise of treasure the old man mentioned to the obdurate Petraak. That was also part of the tales she had read.

Petraak apparently satisfied with the mention of treasures to be found accepted the old man’s offer. Miri waited to see who else would accept, and when they had, she quietly nodded to the old man who looked at her quietly after the rest had accepted.

“I will take up this adventure as well, Xamaras. The path through the Felwood is fraught with many perils, some can be avoided some cannot.”

Miri stood and excused herself shortly after that, “I will meet you ready to ride shortly, until then I have things to do.” She moved to the door leading outside and shut it behind her. Drawing a deep breath of the night air washed clean by the rain she moved to the stable and her horse.

Once the group had gathered together they departed the inn and the small village. Miri could sense Stormy waiting not far off and she sent her that they would be traveling on and that she was with strangers.

"We need a scout to lead us through the woods. I would volunteer, but my armor's too heavy to move quietly. Any takers?" Petraak remarked as they set out.

Miri smiled under her hood as she broke off her contact with Stormy who was telling her about her successful hunt that night. Miri did not want to sense the acidic tang of fresh blood and the crunch of bone of Stormy’s prey.

“I have some skill as a scout, I will be willing to take up that position.” Miri offers and ride forward to do just that.

<> Miri mind spoke her companion.
