Subject: Being adults

Being old enough to be an adult is no big trick. Unless you botch it you will be our age one day. We all grow older one day at a time. We, who are adults, just have a head start on the youngsters. However, there are a lot more adult aged people than adults. The trick is not to be old enough to be an adult but wise enough. Be like the "wise old owl", keep you eyes and ears open and your mouth shut so you can hear, see and learn.

Subject: Eldarwen;s Hides HerTracks

Ah good morning, It looks to be a fine day just remind me what day it is would you please. The elven calendar is so different from human one." Eldarwen fishes politely for the date. Had they truly missed a whole night without any awareness of time? She did not think if would be longer than since time seem ws so important to what was going to happen. Especially if this Borghen also knew of the prophecy.

Just what was the prophecy the angel spoke of? Eldarwen wished she knew . It might give her some vital information or be totally misleading. prophecies had a way of doing that. Sometimes the ambiguity of their words fit so many different possibilities it was impossible to tell which might be the truth of the matter.

"Breakfast will be appreciated, something we can get quickly and consume or perhaps take with us on the trail," Eldarwen tells the serving girl. with another quick look to the outside to confirm that it ws still early morning.

Eldarwen sign softly, she really wished she knew what this prophecy said.

another thought crossed her mind, the old man mentioned that four would accomplish this prophecy, they were three but they had been four. If Borghen knew the prophecy then he would be looking for the four/three of them.

"Well it was a pleasure to meet you all I will be continuing on back to my home forest. I hope you all are successful with your own endeavors, Perhaps we will meet again one never knows the future. Why don't you join be for breakfast before we all set off on our own paths."

Eldarwen adds a broad wink to each of them and motions for them to sit. She takes out a piece of pater and a stick of charcoal and writes a message on it in common.

The note reads:
_______________________________________________________
|
Let us all go in different directions when we
leave and meet in five miles outside of town in
the direct of this place he named.

_______________________________________________________

When she is sure that no one is near she passes it around to each onr surreptitiously.

After they are done reading it she stuffs in deep in her backpack for disposal later.

If the plural of mouse is mice and the plural of louse is lice then why not the plural of house be hice. If the plural of goose is geese why not the plural of moose, meese.

Hmm hte problem is that the english language has borrowed word and rules from so many different sources and each have ther own rules.

Some latinized ending include, octopus/ octopi. cactus/cacti

Now, you certainly don't want to say octopusses!

And Yes the plural of moose is moose, and Sheep is sheep and deer is deer. though Fish can bet with fish in the plural form or fishes when talking about a varity of fish in the sea as in. "There are many different kinds of fishes in the sea."

Subject: Brianna

As Brianna negotiated for the arrows she liked best she heard someone enter the shop behind her. Out of a necessary habit she turned to look and saw that Vatta had entered.

Brianna gave the quiet woman a welcoming smile. Vatta had earned her respect. Vatta knew her strengths and fought taking the best advantage of them. Brianna did not look down on another for not fighting the way she preferred, which took in her strengths and weaknesses as well.

"Vatta you might like to look at this woman's best arrows. I am going to pick up about 30 to fill my quiver even though I tend go toe to toe with my swords. Sometimes having a bow ready to use is a great asset. Your skills have certainly been appreciated."

Brianna moves over a bit at the counter to give Vatta room to move in and see what is offered. She then picks up the thirty she had selected and paid for them.

"When we are done here why don't we go back and have a good meal something hot and already prepared." Brianna adds with a quick laugh. Something none of us had to kill for our dinner and cook ourselves. "Bet you have noticed I always volunteer to help with the hunting and not the cooking. Never had much time to learn much other than cooking over a campfire on a stick or in a pot."

"What are these feather from." Brianna asks as she finger the fletching carefully.
_____________

Trey are Grey Goose feathers all from adult birds. I raise them for meat, eggs and for their feathers. My husband makes his best arrows from just the flight feathers.

I use the down to make warm winter clothes and blankets that keep you warm in the coldest weather. You wouldn't be needing any cold weather clothes now would you?" The woman asked hoping that they might.
_________________

Brianna looks up intrigued by what the woman had said clothes from feathers?"
_________________

"The shopkeeper's wife smile up at Brianna's question. Well not exactly just feathers. I quilt fine cotton cloth in two layers and then stuff in between with the down feathers. Just a moment, I can show you what they are like."

The woman slips into the back room and returns with a sleevless garment that looked all puffy. "Here this is what it is like. She holds the garment out and lets Brianna take it to examine it.
____________________

This keeps you warm?" asks Brianna noting its lightness. "It seems too light to keep you warm, more like something you would wear in the summer except it is all puffy."
____________________

"It is light," the Woman says "It will keep you warmer than you can possible imagine and you can wear it under you cloak. It is better if you do when it it raining or snowing as if it gets wet it doesn't really keep you very warm. I make vest short and long, coats and pants of it."

"If you would like I can bring some samples over to the inn right after we close up shop here."

"I even have cloak liners that double the warmth of a cloak or more. Now this is the best part. The woman takes the vest and squeezes it down to a very small bundle that she could hold in one hand. "You can pack it into the smallest places and its weight so little that it won't weight you down then you just take if out and shake it a few times and it puffs back up."

"Why don't you do that" replies Brianna "I would certainly think that some of my friends may be interested, I am.".
__________________

Vatta pays for her selection of arrows and it seems they are done for now Brianna turns t leave the shop

"Don't hurry to much we are going over to the blacksmith's first before heading back to the inn." and with that she walks out heading over to he large oak tree the shop where column of smoke still rises in the early evening sky.

The locals are making the most of the swindling hours of the day as they shorten, leading into winter time.

"I however have taken many other forms in my life. Each one has their uses."

If you can't change yourself back though I might be able to do it for you. I think I know enough about what you look like to get it mostly right. Besides I can offer a few improvements, taller, younger, just about anything you might want to change."

However can you trust Moraglin's ability to do so. Hmmmm.

Valendara, at first thought her spell failed to have any effect. One never knew for sure it Sleeps would work the way you wanted. Not like Magic Missle that always hit its target.

She watched and waited until she finally saw one pirte slump, then another. Luckily she hadn't held her breath during this period of time that the spell took to affect all those in range of it. She would have been out of breath by now. It was with a great sense of satisfaction that most of the pirates were rendered helpless. She really wasn't the bloodthirsty type however it it had meant a battle she would have done her part just to payback the pirates for what they had done to the lighthouse family--especially the children.

Valendara stayed under cover as the others moved forward to subdue the sleeping pirates and take out those that had not been slept. She kept her eyes on the one pirates and prepared Magic Missile in case he made a move to attack her companions--her friends ws more like it--such they had become during their travels together.

Arianna walks up and takes the key from the innkeeper. "I thank you for you reconsideration. I would not have liked to spend the night out there. However I have one favor to ask. Is there anything you have left over from dinner that is hot and ready to eat. None of us has had any dinner at all we pushed ourselves hard to get here and did not stop to eat. Anything at all would be appreciated. If you have some soup or stew,or even bread and cheese it would be much appreciated. WE can just take it and est in our rooms."

Arianna uses all her wiles and talents to persuade the innkeeper to be a do at least this for those whos stayed in the inn.

After he responds she walks up to Liriel. "How about we share a room. Two can stay warmer than one especially if there is no fireplace in the rooms.

Arianna was unfamiliar with human inns and their amenities, She had sleep in less comfortable places though, during her life as a ranger. Were she not so cold and hungry she would have gone with the dwarves or found a place for herself outside. But she was both of those.

Bronwyn struggled to get Buttercups lead rope away from Elendil. “No! Don’t! You can’t take her, she is mine. I want to go. There is nothing we can do here.” She cried out even as she struggled against Elendil’s hold on Buttercup’s lead rope.

Finally she called out to Buttercup and the loving pony of her teen years responded by pulling back against her lead rope. Suddenly Bronwyn nearly stumbled as the rope pull free of Elendil’s grip. Bronwyn grabbed up the lead rope and turned away from the keep.

Elendil turns and joins Bronwyn heading off in the cover of the trees away from the keep. Relieved that Elendil followed her, Bronwyn presses on patting Buttercup on her velvety muzzle as she walks alongside of her.

“Good Butterup,” We are leaving and soon,I will have that nasty thing off your nose. Bronwyn reached into her pouch for a bit of oatmeal sweet cakes her mother sent along with her. She took a small bit off and slipped it into Butter cups mouth bypassing the nose band. The pony eagerly began mouthing the tidbit and turned her head for some more.

Bronwyn did not so much see and hear the sound that flew right by her. Not sure what it was she ducked down. Holding onto Buttercup’s rope, the pony obligingly turned to stop as Bronwyn did.

Suddenly, Buttercup staggered and then collapses to the ground. Bronwyn was at first startled but quickly recovered and pulled on the lead rope to get Buttercup up, but she did not budge,

“Buttercup, get up,” Bronwyn calls out to her pats the pony on the neck and reached for her halter to help her up.

The pony did not response.

“Buttercup” Bronwyn cries out. She tries to lift the pony’s head up. Wh Even and she wraps her wrms around her head she feels a warm stickiness as she lifts Buttercups head to her lap. But what that might be is not foremost in her mind.

“Come on. Please get up,” Bronwyn literally lifts up her pony’s head. She keeps urging the pony to stand up and refuses what is quite evident to Elendil, with her elven vision.

Bronwyn, was a farm girl, she had been familiar with dead animals all her life. It was a fact of livestock on the farm. However, in her overwrought state, Bronwyn’s mind was not ready to deal with that cold fact.

Tears start flowing copiously down Bronwyn’s cheeks, even as she keeps trying to rouse the pony, some part of her was now dealing with what she did not want to face. However the truth is the truth as her grandfather always said, “It is better that truth is told than making it something it isn’t.” Bronwyn cries out and buries her face into her pony’s neck

“No, No, NOoooooooo.” Bronwyn weeps in earnest now, great wracking sobs that shakes her whole body even as she faces the truth.

She was standing right there near the innkeeper and turned to him.

"Pardon me but none of us, those who can in with Gunther, took part in what happened here. It is wrong of you to say to say so. The dwarf, who was a guest in your inn was foully insulted by other guests of yours. To blame us who just recently arrived for what happened here is itself an injustice."

"The ones you should blame lay on the floor and have been dealt with. We can help you throw them out where they belong, outside."

"You should reconsider your hasty words said in the heat of the moment. You will lose a lot of customers if you don't.

Eldarwen looks over the the four indicated by the old man puzzled that she was included in the four mentioned as there were already four there. She catches the eyes of the other elf who nods almost imperceptibly at her and she returns the nod even as she is listening to the old man.

Eldarwen was about to reply to the old man when he asked if there were any more question until she started to transform into something else entirely.

Eldarwen took a big step back not sure what was happening. She keep watching the whole time. The changes in size was more than 50 percent greater than the old man's original height That was strange enough but when his back erupted in wings she knew, or thought she knew that he was a celestial being, a divine messenger. That or it was one heck of an illusion spell. However the aura of goodness that came from him was unmistakable.

Eldarwen's many question died before reaching her lips. It was not a wise thing to question a divine being's message or messenger.

Eldarwen bows briefly to the imposing figure before her.

"I will go with these people to this place you have named. However, I reserve the right to choose for myself what final actions I take.
