Brianna shakes her head at Lorae words after moving back to give Lorae space to work on Logan."I am not injured this is mostly Orc blood and some of Logan's I will get our horse and bring them beack here.

Brianna stands up and calls Flame, "Come ON Flame I need you to keep your eyes open for any more Orcs or other nasties." she paused and added, "I missed you." And she meant what she said.

Briana stands up tall and straight and quichly strides off to fetch the horse. "Xuor, If you would, keep watch. I will rejoin you in moment. I am going to bring our horses in close."

Brianna is a tall well muscled, young woman, truly an young Amazon. She is well over 6 feet tall, flaming red hair drawn back from her face in narrow corn rows to fall down her back in a tight braid. She has golden colored eyes, like a hawks. Her skinned is a golden tan of one who has live out in the sun. All she wears is a chain mail shirt and ornate breast plate definately made for a female figure, fine bracers and greaves over boots and soft leather pants. Two fine long swords hang across her back. and a quiver of arrows. and a great double bladed, Orc axe hangs on her left hip. and small round buckler is strapped to her left arm. SHe is unmistakeably a fighter from helmet to boots.

Brianna stops at the tree where she made her first stand and picks up her horse bow.

Quickly she mounts up onto Shaowbane and gathers the rest of the horse and returns to the clearing near where Logan was. " she looks the newcomers over. She know Lorae said the man was a cleric, and the woman was going to protect him. but she didn't look like a heavy fighter does, nor even a trooper in light armor., but then there ws so much about this world she does not know, so she doesn't let it bother her. Lorae brought them so they must at least be decent folk.

While working as quickly as possible to staunch the bleeding. "Goddess, I need you help," she prays.

Suddenly she can hear Flames high pitched voice, "I'm back." and soon the diminuative dragonete is flashing through the trees circling quickly around those gathered to aid Logan.

"Flame, Go to Lorae we need healing," calls out Brianna not bothering to turn her head to speak to the little flying reptile and certainly not letting up her pressure on Logan's wounds.. "Go, quickly."

After the Coup de grace of the Orcs. Brianna heads over to where she heard the raging cry of the Orc and the clash of steel, (though not the thud of metal as it hit flesh.) She sprints quickly swords out and ready. Hurrying through the first of the trees and brush she comes upon Logan on the ground braced against his sword.

"Highnar, Xuor, Over here quickly Logan's hurt." Brianna's voice rings out loud and clear,

Brianna hurries to his side. "I've seen worse, we'll get you taken care of," she says brightly only she hadn't seen much worse Orc weapons left bloody gaping wounds, Logan's were no exception.

Reaching into her pouch she brings out a healing potion. Here drink this," she holds the bottle to his lips to make sure he gets it all down. Then I'll dress your wounds."

Brianna starts quickly to bangage up the worst wounds on his thigh and hip. though it means they will have to remove his studded leather armor, for now she works a folded cloth under the armor where it has be sliced open along with Logan's flesh. Dressing his abdominal wound first she places a folded cloth over the wound.

"Logan, hold this one down and hard." Then she begins to make a compress for his thigh and hip.

"I understand Varuna. a good priest wishes to do well for those in need., I wanted you have you coins for the needy, for my part consider it a donation to your Goddess. May your work find favor in her eyes."

"The Salty Dog what and intersting name." Val continues her conversation with Varuna. "I would be interested the the etymology of those words. I find languages so interesting--not the words that directly translate but those who are peculiar to certain situations. I am sure Salty Dog is one of those. Perhaps one of the locals will know it meaning. I will ask when we arrive at that place."
I can record it meaning in my languages notebook."

On their trip Val had been a eager student of languages politely asking for an explaination of various words.--never interrupting the conversation at all just waiting until the speaker was finished. Varuna had seen her jooting down respionse frequently in her books when stey did stop and rest. A little stone with continue light placed close so she could write down any new words or phases she had learned. She also had another bood of her observations. With a careful calligraphy she wrote with the book on her kness balanced just so.

As they rode on through the tow her quick eyes, obserbved, noted and remembered. Years of studing magic and spells had developed her mental skills, and so it should. She did lower her hankerchief, because she did not want to seem impolite. Instead she used a discrete dab of herbal essence, which helped alot.

She passed the vial onto Varuna. "This has a nice fragrance, woodsy and herbal, it does seem to help conteract the briny smell a bit."

Before the good Priest dips into his purse. Val holds out her hand with three silver pieces. QUietly she says "here are the two extra pieces of silver for the group and one for t=the priest. ""I am sure your generosity for this good priest will be appropriately noted and rewards by his God."

There that might give them something to think about. and well they should. Pleased with her carefully chosen words, she smiles at them slightly--very slightly--and rides on with head held high. Not that it reach very high above her horse being quite the shortest one in the group.

Thousands of years of nobility flowed in Val's veins and she had learned social and court etiquette very well. Praise those who serve you well with a genuine smile and praise those who serve you less well only a little less well and a smile that conveys that you have found them wanting. She had remember her grandmother's teaching very well. The matriarch of theie House. She had been the one that truly brought up Val. Stories of Court and life she learn at her grandmother's knees, and by observation. With a look Grandmother could quell, praise, scold flatter, and convey many other messages.

Val was a quick witted child and learn quickly an as she grew older, she tried them all out. They did not work well on Grandmother though. Val laughed at a memory of one such episode when trying to wheedle Grandmother into letting her ride out with some older friends into the forest. She tried one of the looks and failed. Oh her grandmother thought she had done well but the answer was still no. SHe also clearly remembered her Gandmothers, look od disappointment when Val rode out any way and returned later. NOthing happen but the look she--well just say she never did that again.

Her laugh did bubble up and escape her lips as they rode on.

Brianna moves in on the Orc that had gone down from her arrows and makes sure he is dead. Better dead than not dead, to her way of thinking. Only after she is sure the second one is dead does she head off after the Orc that ran off. She figures between Hignar, Logan and Xuor they should be able to finish off the last of this group. Even though she does think that she plans to follow after him too when she is done here. A fine battle so far "Amaterran accept these creatures to mournish the earth" she calls out.
In death Orcs can be useful, she tninks as she admisisters a coup de grace to the arrow pierced Orc.

At the Gate
Valendara sits quietly on her mount as the Priest of Lysora entreats the guards to let him pass without paying. Certainly it was a fair offer and she hoped for his sake they took it but if they didn't wshe will offer to pay the fees for him, though she waits for the guards reactions before making the offer.

Destination in Sight

Val stretched up in her saddle to try to see more of their destination. She was ready to arrive finally to their destination. Not that the long journey had not been interesting for all the new experiences but she was tired. She was not use to the long hours in the saddle and mile after mile of travel with not many breaks. Val had not complained at all but she had learned to dismount for a time each day and walk with her horse. This gave her Sylvari steed a break and her backside too. Val loved riding but mostly it had been short trips or pleasure rides in her home woods near the Mirily-Wen Duin about equal distance form Aratar Barad, Ela-Istel and Faerame. With her parents she had often gone to the Exhaolted Tower where the priceless treasures of the Sylvari are kept safe. While her parents visited there, usually to study obscure histories and scrolls she had had a rare chance to see the insides when she was younger. She loved riding early in the morning before her studies or in the evening and the sun disappeared behind the mountains and the sky turned all colors and then shaded to purple. Unfortunately her love of riding had not prepared her anatomy for the endless hours in a saddle. With most of them being Sylvari or part Sylvari they had started riding early in the day and often did not stop until the sun had long since set.

Val looks more like one of the Sylvari’s of the group’s younger siblings. If you looked closely and were attentive you could discern that she was female. With this group she had not bothered to disguise herself as a young male Sylvari.

With a bit of time she might be able to create some scrolls that would be very useful in the encounters they had had. Studying and practice magic was all well and good but using it in real life conditions and especially in battle was something else entirely different. She was learning a lot which was why she had jumped at the chance to go. This is what she had wanted to do for years. Book learning was good but practicing her skills in real life was better. Oh, she had so much more to learn though. Have her spells on scrolls was one of those things that she learned on this trip. At her current skill level she just didn’t have a lot and ran out quickly. At home, while studying, she never saw a good reason for all that scroll work. Now she knew just how important it was how important they were to have on hand ready to use. She was also going to have to learn more area of effect spells so she could target groups of opponent not just one or two at a time. Unlike fighter her weapons disappeared after use. Scrolls will help her make sure she didn’t run out of weapons before defeat the foe. Thanks the Gods for her companions’ skills and solid weapons. Those more than made up for her being depleted of useful spells and lack of any real weapon skills. She would get better she would study hard and learn more and be more useful in a fight.

Val sighed at the sight of the town. It was not much to look at but a bath, with warm water, a chair to sit on and a table to write on would be a well appreciated.

At the Gates

Val does not get involved in the money transactions exceot to pay her fair share. Inwardly she thinks that the triple fee they are charging in not a fair rate but it is not worth arguing about. There are more important matters at hand. Her quick ears do hear the Sergents comments but she ignores it. riding straight in her saddle and sparing the guards no attention. Poor guards to her way of thinking they should should not be making comments about their betters while on duty. As they rode on into the town whichc is the best she could describe it as. the smell of of the harbor grew worse. No the clean smell of the ocean but more that of old effluevioum of mixed salt water and the run off of human wastes mixed together it was nearly overpowering. THe very air smelled of it and it seemed to have saturated the ground and buildings as well. Val lifted a deicately emboidered and lavender scented handkerchief to her nose and moutn and ocovered them.

Subject: Valendara Isilifeline

Valendara Isilifeline is diminutive even for an elf. Her features are classically elven, fragile looking, pale skinned but peach cheeked with huge pansy violet eyes. Her glossy black tresses wave and curl down her back, so long she can sit on it. It is often braided back from her face and worn with a thin metal fillet adorned with a large black opal the sits on her forehead. She smiles a quick, genuine and ready to breakout from her sometimes serious demeanor. Life is a great joy for her.

Val pursues her interests vigorously and deeply. She loves magic, leanring about magic and using magic, absorbing it like a sponge. She loves visual arts and sculpture, music and her favorite activities are dancing, singing and riding and her favorite craft is embroidery. She is the autumn daughter of her house, born late in her parents' lives, though she was well loved and cosseted by her parents, grandparents, and older siblings. The eldest is her sister Danawyn, who became a cleric to The Lord of Light, and her brother Aerdon who is a wizard in his own right. Aerdon always called her his pocket sprite.

Seeped in magic all her life Val took to is as a gosling takes to water. Her parents had hopes she would remain at home studying magic but Val's love of life is drawing her out into the world. After all isn't a 100 years at home enough. As soon as she was declared an adult she uncovered all her carefully prepared plans for setting out into the world. First visiting all the Elven nations and on the way seeing the world around them.

Val wear well tailored, tunic and soft pants of fine materials, she loves silks, and smooth fine leathers. Normally she wears soft leather pants and high soft boots, silk shirts, and fine embroidered leather vest that matches or harmonizes with her pants, and a fine woolen cloak trimmed with embroidery and lines in silk. Mostly her clothes are in grays, shades of lavender to purple and rich dark greens. For traveling her outfit is a soft lavender gray leather pants and vest with shades of lavender to purple, and dark green embroidery. Her shirt is a dark purple silk, open at the neck. She carries a fine dagger at her hip and a smaller one in her boot-- a gift from her brother. Most of her belongs are packed carefully in the saddle bags on her horse, a few are placed about her person. She plays down her feminine attributes when traveling. Her brother told her it was wiser when traveling especially if she was by herself.

These are to be second edition,m correct? What level? I will need your help it has been so long since I have played second ed. MY character concept is a young female black haired violet- eyes, elf if possible if not human, steeped in magic lore and learning because both her parents were magic users and teachers, but her drive is to go out and use magics to help make the world a better place. She sha a strong streak of altruism, and a overwhelming desire to know and lean more. Physically she was never cut out for fighting or vigorous activities. SHe is qiocl witted, well learned and eager to learn more and interact with others. Her parents are not "thrilled" about what shee desires but she is considered an adult and they think she will mature later to their way of thinking.

Brianna drops her blow and draws her twin swords and moves in on the two fallen orcs on her way towards the big Orc running away. Her keen swords Thunder and Lightning slide quickly ofrom her back, gleaming brighty whenever the dappled light of the forest touched them. Solid Mithral inlaid with gold, masterpieces of Elven workmanship. They had been some great House's treasures. Sometimes she wondered how they had been lost and had gotten into the clutches of the Dark One.

She still remembered that battle. It will be forever ingraved in her mind, body, and soul. She had lost so many friends directly and indirectly because of him. She had gain some too. These swords, that filled her hands, Shadowbane, his mount, and the indirectly Flame the red Dragonette. Actually she didn't get him as much as he got her. Of course there was the Great Dragon Orb that had been their goal, She got that too and destroyed it in front of his eyes. She had been afraid that it wasn't going to be enough, just dropping it, but strangely it shattered. She had willed it to shatterd and it did. She remembered the burning hatered of his eyes as she did so. It was the Master Orb of Dragon Control and he would have been able to control all dragons. With that in his hands he would haved destroyed Peradyse and put all under his control to be his slaves. Then there was the vortex that seemed to originate when the globe was destroyed, a vortex that started whirling them about in one world and deposited them in another. They still didn't know if the Dark One had made it through with them or what. Her greatest relief is that she knows her goddess Amaterrana is here too, now. her greastest lost was being seperated from her father, the Great Wizard Netheril. She had just found him and then lost him in a space of hours.

Brianna still felt as if she was been forged in the flames of loss and gain and loss again, but to what final purpose. Only the Great Goddess, she of the five faces knew for sure, and she did not reveal that much in the vision Brianna had been given. There was only the warning for her not to return to her homelands and seek vengence on those that had destroyed her and all her family and clan. Oh, the Goddess made sure Brianna understood what would happen to her if she did. The vision was complete with all the pain and agony of her long traitor's torture and dying. Brianna had been pulled out of it only at the very last. There were no lasting physical signs of that torture only those carved in Brianna's mind and soul.

Raiel is momentarily stunned by what happened, but a quich breath later she is moving. Keeping a wary eye on the fallen Trollocs she moves to the girls side to find out why she fell. Raiel grips all the spears in her left hand and feels for a flow of blood through her veins near the base of her neck. The sudden switch from staring death in the face to now being the only living left was abrupt and unsettling. But Aiel dealt with that by sticking to business at hand. That was keeping alive

The strangeness of the Trollocs actions just did not ring true to her experience of them. The four of them should have been overwhelmed the first time they can in contact with the Trollocs. That was their way. Troollocs always used superiour numbers to try to overwhelm their opponents. To have them all just standing there in a circle with only one coming to attack them and one more loojing like he was about to join his comrade that was just too weird.

The strangeness would have to wait until later. The questions would also have to wait Why were Trollocs the here? Where as here? Who was that youth ? Were there more people about? Those questions remained upspoken for now. .

There was a pulse. weak, fluttering, but a pulse.

The day had been quiet with, but for the sound of the wind in the trees and birds and calls of the amimals of the forest, but not now. First there was the sounds of Orcs yelling at each other and their quarry. Then the crashing and crunching sounds of their gallumping charge through the trees and undergrowth. The forest sounds were drown out--or all the fauna that could leave had left with the Orcs' calmouring.

Brianna checked her postition, the direction of the wind with the feathers tied to the end of her bow.

Brianna stood firmly, bow drawn up and ready to fire. She sights her arrow carefully adjusting for the range and wind paitiently waiting as an experience fighter waits. When they get here is soon enough to react and not before. As the first of the brutes crash out into the open she targets the lead one with her first and second arrow Then her next shot is at the next one coing her direction.

Brianna quickly draws three more arrows and takes her second round of shots at the second orc. All their yelling and shouting she lets pass around her without giving it notice. The orcs' run seems almost a gallop with the huge legs and arms. They go through obstacles rather than go around them. A stout tree truck stood just to her left and she would certainly use that to help cover her flank.
