Brianne anger raise at the sight of the orc marauders ravaging the village they had discovered following the trail of smoke. As soon as she saw what was happening, she urged Shadowbane forward. The huge black stallion leaped into a flat out run at her urging. Bending low over his neck she loosen the great Dwarven double axe from her saddle and took it in her right hand while taking up her shield with her left hand. Her knees guided the stallion forward toward the Orcs trying to bash in the doors on the stone building near its center. She crashes into the knot of Orcs and slips from the back of Shadowbane leaving him to attack on his own.

Brianna started swing as fast and as hard as she could. There was no finesse to her strokes, She power attacks trying to deal as much damage as she could in as short a time as she could--kill, maim or put down as many as she, trying to decimate their numbers with fierce swings of the mighty ax. Her muscle bunched and flexed as she swung with all her might. Brianna. Her battle cry sounding out as she fights, calling on the powers of the Warrior aspect of Amaterrana.

Shadowbane attacked as well, Opening his mouth wide, then wider, and wider still. Sharp teeth glistened and four fangs were evident. His normal aspect of a warhorse what transformed into something else with his open fanged mouth. and scream of rage. He attack biting and trampling and kicking with his mighty hooves.

Flame attacks the same group with his flaming breath.

Kyara is frustrated at herself for losing all signs of the racks they had been following. IT just didn't make sense. It was like those they were following had just step of the cliff. That magic user Hen it stuck her they just might have done exactly that.

"We must follow of course but I think I have a suspicion on how their tracks just disappeared. Magic. That magic user just might have use feather fall to drift them down this cliff face." Lacking such an ability our best choice now is to go to the bottom of this cliff and look for any tracks there." Let's figure out a way down there.

As the team gathers at the Eastern Gate at pre-dawn Tariel nods to each member as they arrives She plans to wait until all have gathered before she speaks of the ill wind the last Thirkday night. It had been strange of the non-Syls had been present she would have used, not only in the direction but also because of its effects--the emotional ones and the physical sensations on her body but especially the specific lack of physical effects of the wind on the tress, the the wild grasses and flowers. That had bothered her.

"A fine morning, Danamar, Elessarae, Irael," Tariel said in Sylvari since there were only Sylvari here so far. If any non-Syls were present she would have used the Common tongue.

Topic: Audalis: Tides of War
Subject: Damara Starheart

Damara slipped out of her bed in the barracks assigned to female members of the Crimson Blades at the first light of dawn, “Wake up Sleepy head,” she shook her sister. “Time is a wasting. It is the first day of the Festival of Shinara and I do not want to miss any of it”. Damara hopped out of bed in the guild barracks under the Wanton Harlot, a guild formed by the Lady Z, the owner of the Wanton Harlot and head of the Guild of Crimson Blades.

Combing her dark auburn hair, mussed by a night of sleep, Damara deftly she braided her long tresses into a single braid. In the soft glow of the single candle lamp she had lit it did not reflect much light off the golden highlights of her hair, however her golden “eagle” eyes did almost glow in the light. The mirror in the barracks reflected the regular features of a mostly human face with but a hint of elven blood in her heritage. She washed her face hands and dresses in the normal working clothes. It was time for her workout.

Regardless of her excitement about being here in Bayris at the starts of the Festival of Shinara, Damara has a set daily routine she had set since joining the Crimson Blades about a week ago. She and Ruahn we at first reluctant to join a guild, but the Lady Z, as she asked to be called, proved very persuasive declare she really wanted them to join her guild. Damara and Ruahn got the tour of the establishment. There was a lot more to be seen than the public areas of the Wanton Harlot. Underground were where the Crimson Blades were housed in barracks like rooms divided into male and female barracks, with crafting areas, a guild shop where most mundane items could be purchased for a fair price, as well as the barracks rooms and mess hall and weapons practice area. After much quiet consideration on their part, they decided to give it a try. A decision much affected by their nearly empty coin pouches. They had joined a short week before the Festival. As soon as her quick wash was over Damara headed for the training hall.

One in the training hall, Damara started out with stretches, working out any stiffness. She started out stretching her muscles and limbering up before running. Then she jogged around the hall then gradually speeding up her rhythm and lengthens her stride. Once she finished one lap at her top speed, she slowed down gradually. Moving from the impromptu track, she went over to the archery target area and picked up a bow a bit heavier than what she normally shot. Stilling her heart She breather normally inhaling holding they release the string before exhaling. She shot twenty short at a short distance and then twenty each, medium, and long. Damara pushes herself to finish every shot the same as the first, but not straining. Her short distance shots were well grouped, the medium less so and the long distance shot had only seven shots group and her lost ones started falling out of the grouping, two flying off and totally missing the target long range. Stretching out again, she loosens tight muscles before heading out to the pells for sword word. She selected a practice sword near to the weight and length of her long sword. She would not mistreat her long sword by using it to practice on the pells..

After finishing Damara returned to the female barracks gathered her one food outfit, she had brought with her. She went off to the female bathing room and luxuriated in a hot bath with a bar of fine soap available for washing. She chooses one scented with lavender. After a nice soak, she lathered herself up and scrub herself thoroughly, not wanting to smell of sweat out at the festival. Before the water got too cold, she stood up and used a bucket of hot clean water to rinse her hair and body off. She used her hands she scraped off the excess and steps out to the towel rack. Stopping to look in a full-length mirror it reveal her long limber body, smooth golden tan skin, a slender frame overlaid with smooth muscles, nothing bulky or blocky about her at all. She definitely was a female, a narrow enough waist, full breasted, not to wide hips, powerful thighs and shapely derriere.

Satisfied, she toweled herself off and dresses in her one good set of clothes. A white silk blouse with laced trimmed ruffles on collar, cuffs, and front of the blouse and covered with fine embroidery of elven design of vines and leaves in gold and greens. Instead of a vest, Damara had chosen tight corset gold brocade with more of the gold embroidered with gold thread. Tightening the laces of the corset narrowed her waist and lifted her breast. Her pants were tight dark green velvet breeches embroidered and slashed near the knees to reveal the underlining of the same gold brocade as her corset. The full-skirted coat was matching imperial green velvet slashed to give her movement and embroidered, with the green and gold vines.

One last look in the mirror the finished product of her morning labors, Damara turned and set off to the mess hall to get breakfast. Mess Hall was such an unsavory name for the kitchen and dining area but that was what it was called here. She knew he sister would be there by now after saying her prayers and refreshing her spells for the day. Ruahn had combined her fighting talents with service to the God they both worshiped. Damara had taken on the path of the scout and infiltrator. While she hope for some jam tarts or honey buns she would not care to much if there were none. Damara knew there were plenty of Vendors out at the fair selling all sorts of sweets, Those were her weakness. She jingled her belt pouch and it was rather light. She hoped Ruahn had more money than she did currently. They hadn’t been with the Crimson Blades long enough to be paid their wages yet. Festival would be the pits if they both were broke.

She spotted her sister as soon as she entered the Mess hall. “Hi ho, Ruahn. Are you ready to go when I am finished?” Ruahm and Damara were identical twins and that was very evident. To dark Auburn-haired, golden eyed, golden skinned young women, alike and two match daggers.

After their team leader spoke, Tariel went back to the boarding house to check over her backpack for what even needed replenishing what she had used and making a list of things she could use that she didn't have. Taking out her coin pouch she check over how much she had and revised her list to reflect how much she thinks she could get. Tariel tried to keep her mind off the tragic events of the death of the villages in Pilm. There last mission had not garnered them much in the way of money or goods, but plenty of thanks, and the well wishes of the village people.

Leaving the boarding house Tariel hurries out to the local markets to make her purchases. She chose merchants and shops where they knew her since she lived locally a d patronized the shops regularly. Establishing a relationship with such shops meant she got fair prices for the goods she wanted. She got salt, some cheese, and flour and sugar and at the bakery she purchase some sour dough stater so she could make trail bread or stick bread depending on how much time she had to cook.

Shopping done, she enjoyed an ale listened to a decent bard at a local tavern then returned in time for dinner at the boarding house. On the way back she stops at the livery stable and asks that her horse be ready half a mark before first light. After dinner but before retiring early she sharpened and oiled her weapons. She packs up all her new purchases and put her back pack down at the with her weapons except for two daggers she kept under her pillow.

It was still dark when she Tariel soft boots. Gathering up her readied gear and weapons she goes down to an early meal of fruit cheese and bread the widow had provided. Spreading the bread liberally with fruit paste that the widow made of cooked fruits and sugar or honey and fresh butter. Tariel down her simple morning meal and headed off to the livery stable to pick up her horse.

The mare was out of her stall and being groomed by the time Tariel arrived. Tariel tipped the man 2 copper and took over the tack of finishing the grooming and tacking her mare. Buckling and adjusting all the straps to make sure they were comfortable for the horse and then secured all her gear in her addle bags. Keeping out only her water skin and weapons.

It was still dark as she left the the livery stable and the relative warmth of the stable and headed towards the Eastern gate. Moondancer frisked and a bit in the coolness of the predawn. Tariel let Moondancer get it all out of her system as she guided the mare towards where she would meet the others in tam MV6 She was note first but she was second to arrive. Tariel maneuvered the mare forward then the swung her around to sidle up the other already waiting there. Moondancer side stepped until she felt the signal to halt.

"Tariel Reporting in."

"I know of now way to combat such illusion that I have any access to." Kyara responds to The dwarf.

"What I can do is to follow through the trees, perhaps skipping every other tree until the trail is lost and back tracking to the last known place of their path."

I wouldn't put it past this group to change directions several times to cover their true tracks from anyone who may try to track them. That way will be slower, though not as slow as checking every tree, and it will save us time it we don't have to back track too far be less likely for us to lose the trail by much."

He had an uncanny sense of direction.

As Brianna goes to send Flame off, Lorae calls out, "Flame, I know the way, find out what is happening there."

Brianna turned Shadowbane and started north at a canter. Not too fast so that it would exhaust the horses-- not wasting time. The stallion wove his way through the trees as Brianna urge him forward.

"Flame, Can you go up and keep me on course?"

Moraglin rode her carpet each day and spent her time crafting on new spells. However once they made camp she took over the cooking. It was pure self-defense, was what she told herself. She got tired of just roasted or stewed meats, and raw vegetables foraged from the forest and fields. In her youth her mother owned and ran a big inn. She had learned to help prepare and cook under her mother's tutelage when she was old enough and later she served in the common rooms as well. That was before her magic abilities had manifested itself.

Of course she complained about the fire that wouldn't stay at a steady temperature. Mor wondered if there was anything she could come up with that would take care of that. Perhaps some sort of permanent heat spell on a pot or pan that she could trigger with a command word. That might must work. Her mind went off on a tangent at that and she almost burnt the thin strips of meat she was cooking with strips of vegetables. she snatched the pan out of the fire quickly and got burned fingers for her efforts.

"If anyone sees any thyme, rosemary, sage, tarragon or other seasoning herbs I would appreciate you getting me some. And salt, Iam nearly out of salt.

This fourth day since leaving the valley things were not so uneventful. Brianna rode back in with news of a lot of smoke filling the sky to the north of them.

"Is it far enough off that we will be safe from it?" Moraglin asks worried about a forest fire that might overwhelm them.

Brianna enjoyed her scouting ahead. She had a chance to hunt while she did. THe land was rich with much natural beauty, They pass through thick forest, light forest and open meadows. Herd of elk, a large red-haired deer with dappled hide with lighter spots all over their backs and flanks. Truly this was a land unspoiled by the hand of man.

In the four days that followed their departure from the valley the group had fallen into a steady routine. They were able to hunt and forage for edible plants. The Druid help a lot with them identify some fruits new plants as well as some that were more familiar; garlic, wild onions, Something like a tunip but sweeter and dark red. One day there was a small low growing creeping vine with bright red berries that were smalls but so sweet it was like candy,

There were plenty of fish in the river they followed. Brianna especially liked a long silver fish with rainbow sheen scales on it sides, It was delicious when cooked with some wild onions, wrapped inleavesand roasted in the fire.

Moraglin still complained about something every day, it just seemed a part of her to verbalize what she didn't like. But some of that could be overlooked since she was a remarkably good cook and the group had eaten well. Xander the newest of the group was a quiet man. Soronnume was in her element. Soronnume didn't speak much but she was often noted various plants and animals that they encountered. Devon was outgoing as usual, and force some where between the quiet ones and the more out going. Brianna considered herself as somewhere between Lorae and Devon. She like some socializing with others though sometimes she didn't, especial not when the memories of what she had lost rose again. Those were difficult to deal with still. Allis all they worked together well thus far, though as yet they had not been tested in battle.

One the fourth day Flame suddenly appeared telling her that there was a lot of smoke in the sky.

"What direction?" Brianna askes

"That way" Flame pointedmoreto the north.

Now that they were on the move she felt better. At least they were doing something concrete.

The forest and meadow they passed were rich and fertile with all kingsof flora and fauna. Great pines and firs raked the sky with their pointed tops, THe morning was cool but with the rising sun it warmed toa comfortable temperature. A mild breeze blew from the north west.
