Subject: Siliwen's Reality

Siliwen looked around as she sat up. Many dreams she had had in her life, some where she had flown like a bird or run like a horse but never ever had she dreamed a dream that had become reality, unless she was still dreaming. However the pain in her side from her unhealed wounds seemed to confirm that this was not dream.

When she stood up she noticed others doing the same. What was strange was their silence while they all first took in their surrounding. The Dwarf looked on the others with a lowered brow. He kept his weapons firmly gripped in his hands. Siliwen did not blame him for being suspicious of what had happened to him. The circumstances of this occurrence were certainly beyond what was normal in life. Siliwen herself had looked around her surroundings verifying that this was not the place she had fallen asleep, which it wasn’t, and that further confirmed her thought that something unusual had taken place this night, As for the how and the why, those were still unknowns. Siliwen also looked for her pack that she had used as a pillow early the evening when she had laid down to sleep. It had everything important to her in it.

The silence was broken with a sharp crackle of a log in the fire. Siliwen decided to be the first to say something; hopefully to put others at ease and also to gain more information about what had happened to them. Siliwen believes that their experience was not too different for them. “Hello my name is Siliwen. I do not know what has happened only that it has. I know what I experienced but I do not know what any of you experienced. I went to sleep in the woods near a small town called Mayberry Dale. Then I dreamed or thought I dreamed of flying in the clouds with others near me. To me the voice spoke in High Elven, a fatherly voice telling me that I was to be part of an adventuring group and we were to face great evil in a far land. Even more important was that we would all have to work together or we would not succeed and thousands might die also because of your failure.”

Siliwen did not bother to say that this last bit made their working together and being successful of vital importance. For herself it meant a heavy burden to bear when she did not feel at all ready to undertake such a mission. The lost of Joriel was so fresh and she had held herself responsible for it. That weighed on her soul and her spirit.

“That is all that I perceived until I woke and sat up just as all of you did or so it appeared to me. I have never woken from a dream and found my reality changed as this appears to have happened.”

The black's sudden attack caught even Dae by surprise. Septimus hauled back on the enradged stallion's reins, with little effect, aas it charged at Oko and his stallion. Dae w not sure whether it was the horse or the stallion the back reacted too.

Septimus tugged back hard on the reins. Dae winces and the bit cut into the horse's mouth as evidenced by the pinkish foam form the corner of its mounth. The stallion reacted to the pain of the bit cutting into his tender mounth. He lashed out biting with crushing force right on Septimus's hand. Septimus did not cry out in pain, but to Dae's senses the flash of sharp pinkish red that dulled quickly told the truth, Septimust had felt significate pain as Dae heard the sickening crunch of small bones grating when the stallion chomped down hard. Setipmus's voice suddenly put an end to the stallion's rampage.

"Bag him" Dae heard hin say and she reached out and did just that. When she was finished Septimus had cut a piece of cloths off and was trying to wrap the wounded hand up with one hand. Not a very easy thing to do.

"Just a moment Septimus. Let me take care of that before you hand is impaired. I don't think you want that."

(Septimus's when post your reaction to Dae request to heal you. I will post.)

Subject: Dae

Now that the sun is higher more towns people are around conducting their daily business. The sun in climbing in the sky and the shadow are deeper further back in the stable. The buzz of a few flies attest to the cleanliness of the stables. Otherwise they would be swarming about.

Dae follows Septimus into the shadows of the livery stable until they are quite out of sight. From anyone standing outside the stable doors, It is not very large looking about 2 feet by three feet well made of some canvas-like material with a drawstring top. Dalyndra pulls it open and moves next to Septimus and his stallion. As the stallion nuzzles Septimus’s hand she reaches out but does not touch the scarred stallion yet. “With your permission I will put him in now. This is a bag of holding and stasis. Once he is in he will not remember anything until he is called out. “What do you call him?”

After Septimus giver her the stallion’s name, She stroke the big black;’s face, warm from the sun in the corral and smelling of molasses sweetened oats and corn. “Bet that grain was good wasn’t it.” she say, calmly rubbing the stallion’s face with gentle finger tips of her left hand while holding the bag in her right hand.

“Septimus! Listen carefully. The words to call him out will be his ‘name’ out,” she states as she takes a hold of the end of a bit of the stallion’s forelock. “(Name) In” she commands and the big stallion disappears. Motes of sust seem to be sucked into a votex centering on where he had been, “Remember, to get him out take the bag, open the top and say his name plus out,” repeats Dae. “Now I have to pick my second mount.” She walks outsideto the corral and wonders what is left. She hopes the less able riders were helped to choose mounts suitable to their riding capabilities.

Outside she daw the horses that were chose, “These are a really fine horses,” observes Dae. Zara mentions to her to bag the horses. Dae just turns to look at her. Yes, I will,” she says calmly. Of course Zara could have done it for herself but instead she just hopped up pn her horse without oa thought of what she could do to help. AL well it was nothing new, more a part of the self-centeredness of youth. Turning to the others she announces “Mount up you the ones you want to ride now and be ready. Alex and Zara you are one group go out the West gate,. Jason and Oko get going go out the North gate. We will meet at Ehlonna’s shrine, on the north road in 1 hour.

“Stable Master! Would you please take these others horses into the stable? I will be right there.” Dalyndra tells the man, as she looks over what is left. Choosing the best of what is left she leads that one into after the Stable Master and bags each one by name, writing its names down on a parchment as she does. Dalyndra hands the man a sealed letter, “Would you give this to you master as quickly as possible and tell him, many thanks. Then I think you and everyone here today should go on a vacation. A long vacation or be changed to a new place. I have written the Prince to consider just what he can do. Silence about this day’s activities will be appreciated and I want to make sure that you will not be forced to mention anything. This includes your stable boy too.

Dalyndra mounts her big red mare and turns to Septimus. “Let’s get going. You and I are going out the East gaet and sneak around in the edge of the forest to get to the shrine.” Septimus this sort of deceptive behavior is new for me. If you have any suggestions please help me out.”

Siliwen is very tall for an elf and tall for a high elf. At first one might take her for a half elf except that her coloration, features, and manners are pure high elven---as is the style of her clothes. They are made of the finest materials, trimmed and embroidered even her shirts and underclothes. She dresses very well in clothes fitting her rand and station. They are they distinctly noble and are mostly white, silver and gold with touches of exquisite embroidery. That is usual for her except when she is on the road when she wears well cut, Traveling outfit in tones of grey. Very fine darjker grey leather pants, and jerkin and a paler gray shirt The Cloak is reversible Dark Green and and the other side Dark grey. She carries a longbow A fine belt is fastened around her waist with tone pouches and a dagger. She walks with a ground covering stride while traveling and only shortens them shorter when she is looking about or sonsentrated on her surroundings.

Bio

Siliwen is the daughter of house Elyanwe, meaning StarSong, Wile not the most powerful they have a long history of theri own, Her parents are well placed int the Elven court. Her mother a court Mage and her father a noble of the Queen’s Court. Siliwen was a surprise. Her parents' last child born to them late in their lives But as all children of High Elves, whose rate of childbirth is so low, she was well loved and raised.

Athelwyn was Siliwen’s favorite brother. She had older siblings but most were adults and never really were a part of her life--Though they vbisited on important festivals and then Siliwen and cousins to play with. She adorned Athelwyn. He was enchanted by his little sister even though he was on the brink of manhood and very busy with his own affairs but never too busy for her. He gave her rides on his shoulder his horse first. Siliwen would sit in his lap and steer, He put her on her first pony, and later when she graduated to a real horse, Athelwyn went out and bought her the most beautiful elven mare, caparisoned in purple leather barding with 100’s of tiny silver bells that had the most melodious tones. Her favorite colors are silver, Gold, adn Deep purple, She loves amber, Golden Beryl, amethysts and purple corundum and even rainbow moonstones,.

Early in her life Siliwen began to show glimpses of her talent for magic early in her life but was not pushed into it. When she wss near puberty she told her mother she wanted to be a wizard and so they brought in learned, wise experienced magic instructors to teach her. Being an intelligent child, she was quick to learn. She took great joy in what she was able to do but she also couldn’t abide some of her more stuffy teachers. She wanted to know why, and what, and when, and how. and why not, and what if, and....and...and...and she wanted the answers now.

Siliwen was frustrate and so to were most of her instructors, so much so that they quit abruptly and left. Some told her parents she was a poor student, Some just through up their hands. Some said she would never amount to much in the field of magic because she lacked discipline.

Several instructors ucame and went until her parents almost despaired of finding the right teacher for her. For they wree sure she was gifted and intelligent and they knew she was difficult and stubborn sometimes too. Surprisingly they did find the right teacher, and surprisingly he had come to them to volunteer to teach Siliwen, Joriel was his name and was young man just about about 150. This was close to Athelwyn's age at this time. Athelwyn was now and mature young man settleing into his own life path and that had taken him far form home. Siliwen missed him terribly.

Joriel seemed to understand that her quickness and desire for answers was not a disruptive behavior but a quest for knowledge and perhaps he also understood that it was also a cry for attention that she had lost when her brother left to pursue his own life path. Siliwen uunderstood it mentally but not really emotionally. Once he realized that her instruction moved along well—much to her parent’s joy and relief. Joriel answered her questions explaining the why and the why not. What Siliwen never knew nor did her parents was the fact that Athelwyn had known Joriel for years and when he got a letter form his parents about the trouble they wre having with Siliwen, he had asks his friend who was looking for a mage position to see what he could so to help her. Joriel had heard all Athelwyn’s storied of his sister from him. He know her brother care deeply for his sister and being a good friend said her would try his best. As she developed so the a strong friendship between Joriel and Siliwen

As Siliwen matured into a lovely young eleven maiden she was introduced to court and all the activities that the children of noble families do, picnics, parties, going out riding, dancing which she adored, even the more formal affairs where she made her parents proud. Her mother was looking forward to presenting her formal to the Queen at her majority. This was a noble elven child’s fondest dream and many noble parents’ too—but not Siliwen’s.

Siliven had almost reached her majority when Joriel decided it was time for her to work on her own and he decided to go out into the world to develop his own abilities. Siliwen decided that she was going too and would not hear him say nay. When she approached her majority she told Joriel that she ws ready to go out with him and develop her magic. Her mother was not happy when Siliwen announced to them she was going to. But when reaching their majority Elves adults were free to do what they wished. Her mothers fond dreams of Siliwen taking the court by storm had to be put aside. They were good parents and once her mind was made up they helped her in every way possible. So outfitted with many gifts and her own magic book and magic skill she left with Joriel riding out of the Capital city then out of the elven woods finally they were out in the world.

More to come---

Blake's unexpection and unsual question forced Inga sto top and think about what was meant by "her girls" and then a moment more to form a proper reply.

"Yes Ma'm. They are mostly soft tissue but they will be bruised some since they took a direct blow that forced them against your rib cage with enough force to knock you off your feet. So they will probably be tender and a bit swollen from the blood that flowed out into the tissues from damaged blood vessels. That is what brusing is. You might want to consider a "proteced cup" bra, Ma'm.

Subject: Inga Johannsen

Moving down the hallway Inga was a Ranger. knowing that there were injuried kept her alerat and moving along quickly with her Team. Soonest there, soonest mended. came the old saying. to her mind unbiddened. Once her team moved into the garage where she ssaw two rangers down she move from ranger to medic. her medical bal off her shoulder after she slung her rifle on her shoulder.

Inga gives both the down rangers a quick triage examination.
Her job now was saving lives and keeping the injured Rangers operational.

“I need to get them both off the floor as soon I can be confident they will not suffer any more injury by shifting them. To the others of her team Inga asks “What took them down?” While she listens she is moving quickly to each the downed rangers. both were consious and stable fo now

"I will need someone to find boards, creepers, canvas tarps, whatever you can be used get them up off this floor. A table will work well."

Inga took out a couple of space blankets and covered them both up trying to conserve their body heat. She keep on her gloves this time. She couldn’t afford to get her hands frost bitten. Her task is simple get them stabilized forst, treat wound and injuries and on their feet if she can.

Inga asks each of the injured four quick questions as she pulls out her stethoscope to listen to heart and lungs. The question is first, is "How many fingers am I holding up?" The second is, "Where do you hurt?” The third question is, “Can you breath normally?" and last is, “Are you bleeding?" Those answers guide her as to who she treats first and then what injuries need to be tended to first, as well as any obvious signs of injuries.

First with the helpop of the others she gets them off the floor WIth W/O Blake having trouble breathing tshe became her dirst patient. Afte Blake answered her question Some gentle probing of Blake’s ribcage leads Inga to believe that some of the W/O's ribs are fractured, if not broken. She also quickly checks for any sign of concussion. Using an small LED light, Inga asks Blake to track it with her eyes. And then by turning it off and on she can check to see if her pupils are responsive or fixed and dialated.

Inga tries not to expose any more of their flesh to the cold than possible. This extreme cold in their condition could start them on a downward spiral . Shock dropping their core temperature down and added to the paralyzing cold it might very possible drop them to a point of no return. However n the little she could see there was already extensive bruising on the W/O’s chest. She must have caught the brunt of that explosion (assuming she is told of it). Inga gets any flat object she can to use as a back board while she gets Blake into a seated position. Unzipping the bottom of Blake's heavy outer parka slightly, Inga uses her long arms to advantage to wrap the Blake’s chest with tape to support her ribs. "When you are ready I would like to get you on your feet and see it there are any other problems. Just sing out when you are ready becasue I don't want you getting on you feet by yourself." The combination of ther body heat as she worked under Blake’s jacket seemed to help now chilled her hands were. Maybe it was only her imagination though. "now if you feel dizzy, or nasuseated or get blurred vision or a heachacke you sing out loud and clear," Inga tells W/O Blake. "Here are some painkeillers, Tylenol, Do not take any aspirin or subsitutes, Tylenol will not thin the blood aspin and acetamorphines would.

Hatherford's injuries are a combination of burns, laser fire from what it sounds like and concussion injuries from the grenade blast as well as the invisable pulse Blake described. The was a possibility of shrapnel damage as well so she checked out all possiblities. Inga looks over his clothing for any signs of tearing to projectile entry. The laser wounds fortunately cauterized the wound but Inga treated the burn and bandaged it. Again not really removing any garments but working as quickly as possible under them. Inga checks Pearson for signs of concussion also. It could be a hidden killer as well blood leaking into the brain and swelling or just swelling from the damage the brain took inside the skull when a person is exposed to a blast or even a physical shaking. After examination, treatment and bandaging, and some Tylenolor . Take as needed but not more that two every four hours."

Then Inga gives him an all clear. “Okay, Hatherford, you’ll do for now. However, if you have fny problems or if you notice any new symptoms, such sweating, blurry vision, dizzyiness, headach, nausea, etc., let me know." Up you go Ranger. Let's have at them." Inga then efficiently repacks her medical pack with everything in its place, and stands ready to report to the Lieutenant, when he is free

Topic: D&D Annoyances
Subject: Magis User and CLeric class Annoyances.

For both cleric and magic users, I have always felt that this praying for spells, or pre-setting spells is such a handicap for poth classes. Bards can sing any song they wish, fighters can choose any weapon they carry, thieves use whatever they can get their hands on, etc. so why can't rages and clerics.

I agree on mages are really poor character at low levels and it doesn't get much better iat6 high levels excapt that if you have made a lot of money then you can buy things to enhance what you can do. This is not only for the lack of spells they have per day but also that they get the lowest hit points per level and are penalized for any type of armor since I can't remember what edition. It used to be only iron/steel armor affected them with penalties. Sure they can case Mage armor on themselves but it takes a round they draw an AoO, it takes up one of their spells slots, and doesn't last that long. IT used to be that armor of cloth, leather, wood, natural materials and Mithral was free of spell failure armor> Mithral used to be the equivaltent of silver--called elven silver. IT is was suppossed to weigh about 1/20 of regular armor and be unencombering.

The answer, up the hit poists to at least 6 per level because a mages body type in not a prerequisite of their class and it should not be assumed that they and intrinsically less hardy. Natural materials and Mithral should be free of penalties. for spell casting.

Make Magic based on magic mana, MU's have so much depending on level plus their intelligence bonus per level in addition. 0=1/2 pt. 1=1 pt. 2-2pt etc is the basic At 0 you get 1/2 point - Int bonus so you can throw anywhere from 1-5 0 level spell or 2 1's and 1 0 level spells this make Int bonus useful to mage in more than just how many spells they can learn. Another thing is to make spell casting spontaneus. They should be choose what ever they need. of their know spells. Just as a fighter is free to shoiise any weapon he carries or can get his hands on, Think of a fighter with class restrictions such as MU,s have. He would have to choose his weapons before hand, he could only use those he chose, and once he used it, He can't use it again unless he chose two or more of the same type of weapon--then he can use the second seord or knife.

A mage studies to learn new spells but after a week to a month (depending of level of spell) of study they are memorized. He/She knows those magic spells, and is free to use them as they are needed for the situation.

Another thing we have done is that Magic User can begin to cast lower level spells quicker--they have become more efficient. Like a fighter getting extra hits per round. Spells cast at 2 level lower can be cast in half the time, spells 4 level lower can be cast in 1/4 the time.

Also spells can be powered up, for example, You get more magic missle per cast as you gain levels but you can increse it to a 2nd level spell and do greater damage with it. d4, d5, d6, d8, d10, d12 etc. It is the same for other fixed slppells, volume, hight. length. time etc can be upped by raising level of spell and casting at a higher level.

Clerics should pray for divine power most certainly, but not for spells they may or may not need THey too should be able to cast whatever spell they need. Healing alwasy does total heal for that spell. Cure light always 8, stc.

If Clerics run out they can oray again for divine power not just once a day. Also there could be new spells like summon Deitiy's favority animal. anDepending on level of cleric the animal you summons can be improved by size ability etc. because you are that much more important to your Deity.

Dae read Septimus's body language and her turned to the stable and his black stallion. She then recalled his words. Oops, she thought to herself. He seemed to misunderstand what she said about his horse being too noticeable. HEethought he was going to have to leave his horse behind, and that was not what she had said at all.

Dae started after Septimus, but as she did she saw Oko approaching her with a cat-like fluidity and assurity in his walk. Dae slowed down until he was abreast of her.

"I do not have a ring of animal communication, but I do have another way to communicate with them," she states.

Then turning to look at the departing back of Septimus She was going to have to hurry up and tell him that he was mistaken in part of what he had assumed. However politeness kept her heare.

"Why don't you come over and choose a second mount. Watch them. The ones that get still and do not run, those may attack, the one that look up and run, avoid them. Look for an animal that does not seem to care, since we do not have time to train them to get along with you. However if none just stand there we might get the druid to help."

"Now, I have to get to the stable to choose my second mount and clear up and misunderstanding. I am glad you joined us." she says with a genuine smile.

Dae lengthens her stride to match Oko's and to get to Septimus and explain what she had said.

When she is about five feet from him she calls his name. Septimus had his hand on his big stallion and was talking to him lowly. She could catch parts of it and it was clear he had misunderstoof her.

"Septimus, I need to explain something to you. I think you misunderstood part of what I said. Why don't you bring him into the stable with you and I will explain.

"You do not have to leave him here. We are just going to bag him, put him in a bag of holding and stasis until we are well out of the town and this area. He will be fine in my bag until such time as we are clear."

Light, he almost looked like he was losing his best friend. Dae realized that that could possibly be the truth of the matter. Horse sgave ther loyalty/love where they had love in return, food, water, shelter and a peroson who took care of them. These must be that type of relationship. Dae considers this insight and thinks, ((Thank you Light, now I have something to build on.))

She hopes to reassures Septimus, "He will be fine until we bring him out. He won't know anytime has passed since you put him in."

Dae watched without comment and Zara hurried to choose first. So typical of the quickness of youth. She looked over to the animal that Zara declared she wanted even though it was not amongst the animals that had been presented to them to pick from. Of course she wanted something that was not offered and yes it was the flashiest colored animal that she could see. Dae smiled and shook her head as her prediction of Zara's choice turned proved true.

After the boy was sent off to get the animal in question Dae turned her attention to the horses saddled and ready in the stable. and moved forward to watch. Dae heard that two mounts were being offered and so her attention moved to the remaining horses as Zara moved to the horses to make her second choice. Zara hadn't even considered letting others choose there first before she chose her second. Dae would have to talk to her later about that, now was not the time. Her second choise was rather obvious too. The golden palomino mare was as bright as Zara's hair.

Dae moved up closer to thestalls and looks over the remaining mounts. She would wait to make her second choice last. As she waited she thought of the various pairings they could make. Zara and Alex would be a good combination; Youth and wisdom together, Light knew she needed some, perhaps it would rub off on her. Jason and the big Felanii were a druid and a fighter so that made perfect sense that they could be together. That left Septimus andd herself as a pair.

Dae looked over to Septimus, who had again kept himself apart from the others yet again. But she noticed he suddenly paid attention when Zara declared her intention about getting that animal herself. Dae moved in closer. She wanted to be close in case there were problems. Zara had the bit between her teeth and was tugging on it. She would not take kindly to being reined in so Dae choose to wait and be ready. Zara would have to learn her lessons herelf if they were going to sink in.

Dae moved closer to the corral intent on Zara. SHe was aware of a flicker of movement that she had not expected. Septimus had moved forward.

"Dont you ever listen" Septimus asks Zara.

To herself Dae answers his question, No, not every often."

Zara, unphased by anything he had said steps into the corral towards the splashy colored black and white animal. When it lifted it head Dae was not sure who was more surprised.

"Oh,my" escaped her lips and then she chuckles as she moves up towards where Septimus stood. The beast ears were like signal banners flicking back and forth.

Dae chuckles more at Zara's apparently stunned reaction. "I couln't have planned a better lesson, if I had tried to."

Changing the subject so that Zara does not see Dae's reaction of Zara's faux paux, she acknowledges Septimus words to Zara, "Thank you, Septimus for your attemped intervention, Zara is unfortunately, very like a force of nature. A falling boulder, and sudden flash flood, a bolt of lightning or a clap of thunder. You never know what you might be confront with." comments Dae lowly.

"By the way, did you think about my idea of splitting up? I have a few thoughts and would like to discuss them with you. Zara could gow with Alex, Hopefully he can be a steadying influence on her though it won't need to be for long. The big Felani fighter, Oko, and Jason,, would problably make the most sense together. And if you don't mind, I would leave with you. Though I think it should be on a different horse until we get well clear from here." I could bag him for you and you can choose an second mount to ride out on. Also, if you don't mind my saying perhaps we can alter you outfit to be just a bit less piratish looking. Zara has a disquise ring we could use long enough for you to be an unremarkable traveler."

Dae hopes she can get Septimus to take another horse. The big battle scarred black stallion was certainly memorable and that is what she wanted to avoid.

Subject: Val

Val moves along with En’Aranthea and their prisoner. Her attempt to intimidate him had not seemed to be very successful. She had seen the look on En’Aranthea’s face. At first it looked a bit surprised and then when she faked her spell, En’Aranthea’s face sort of went blank. Ah, well this was something she was going to have to practice before trying again. She just couldn’t figure out how to make herself more intimidating. She was short even for a Sylvari and slender. And her face was youthful, not even yet the ageless face of a mature Sylvari, just plain young.

Later in the simple cold camp they had made, Val moves over to En’Aranthea to explain about her failed ruse.

“Thank you for not laughing at my fake spell. I have so few spells to use each day and I was hoping to pretend to have one ready so I could intimidate him into telling us what we wanted to know. The only thing I could think of was to fake a spell.” Val explained to En’Aranthea with a wry grin and a bit of chagrin about her failed plan “It didn’t work very well, actually not at all. But at least it was something I could do.” The real truth of her attempts to help was made clearer when she added, “Everyone else was capable of doing something, in the fight and afterwards. All I could do was dive down to the ground to make myself less a target and then fake casting a spell.” Val’s voice drops. “Not a very illustrious response on my part. Thanks again for your straight face; I don’t think I could have handled being laughed at, not just then. Now is it sort of funny.” Val looks up and smiles slightly. “I will try to do next time.”

When En’Aranthea asks who wants to be on what watch Val responds, “For me first or last watch is best.

Subject: Dae

“See? That is him, is it not?” The diminutive dragonette repeats.

“Yes it is. Thank you for finding him so quickly,” responds Dae

“Good! I go. Bye.”

The sun was rising above the buildings and Dae measured times by the length of the shadows. Septimus has his back to Dae and seems to be looking down into the big bottom tier of the fountain. “Wonder what he is looking at or was he looking at anything at all except his own inner visions. “Light, help him to see a better path,” she prayed as she watched him unseen, As she waits a bit more Dae spots Zara, Alex and Jason walking over to the fountain. Septimus turns around as Zara walks up to him. At least he didn’t rebuff her this time. In a bit they all leave heading towards the Livery stables

“Good enough,” says Dae softly. The foursome set off. Dae figured they should get to the stables soon enough. Dae waited a bit longer for the Felani to arrive at the fountain but there still was no sign of the big Felani. He would be hard to miss, Dae was tall but Merrowyn was a hand taller, two time broader and probable three times as heavy as she—if not more. . Dae was anxious to get on the road. She hopes the Felani will be back at the Livery stable or heading that way now. In this crowded town Septimus’s enemies could be any one here. Dae wanted no repeat of last night’s incident but realistically she didn’t think they would totally avoid similar problems. The price on his head would tempt most people both good and bad. Some would think they are being helpful to capture a notorious pirate others were in it for the money alone. . No, Dae didn’t think they could totally avoid them but she was hoping to outrun them for a while.

Now that they were headed to the livery stables there was not reason for her to join them. Let Zara and the others take care of themselves. Dae told herself, that was not her responsibility. Her mother had told her one that sometimes you just let others do for themselves otherwise they will never become independent. Dae was Zara’s half sister; she had to remind herself of that fact sometimes. Dae is not Zara’s mother, just her half sister. Dae sighed, No an easy job being a sister to a teenager in such a situation. She would not have let Zara take on this mission had Zara not had skills and abilities that could be extremely useful. Zara’s age and her inexperience when dealing with people of widely varying dispositions and personalities could be and would be a problem. It already had been. Dae just hoped that Zara would never find out that she had done just that with Selena and with Septimus. Zara might trip, might stumble, and might fall; Dae would be there if and when Zara needed help, but she was not Zara’s mother.

“Not her mother,” says Dae out loud and turns her mare back the way she had come.

By the time she got back the foursome was arriving. The three on foot were slower than Dae and her mount.

As Dae gets close to the entrance of the Livery stables she becomes aware of the big Felani looking her over. She gives him a salute with her hand and then beckons him to join them. Riding up to the others she dismounts. “I am glad everyone has made it. Choose your mounts and as soon as everyone is ready we can get going,” urges Dae and then continues. “I was thinking that we could split up and ride out different gates in twos or threes and meet at Ehlonna’s shrine about a mile outside of town at the edge of the forest I am not good at this subterfuge so if someone has a better idea of how we can avoid followers. I will gladly let them take charge of this aspect of our mission.”

Subject: Geim the divided

Geim went into high gear and hurries as quickly as he could towards his stricken comrades. He wipes his sleeve across his face to get the blood out of his eyes so he could see where he was going. Who was first to be healed was going to be a matter of who needed him most to survive, although, in all truth, it was a guessing game. And Geim did not want to guess wrong it could cost a life or two, “Hold on there Loda, I owe you a drink, lass. Just take it easy, breath short a fast. I’ll get to you. Malius, can you hang in there a bit longer? Gotthard, are you badly hurt or what? Keep talking to me everyone so I know you are with me. I am going to Lady Quilanday first.” Right now all he could do for the other badly injured was to call on help from those capable of rendering assistance to the less fortunate comrades. “Anyone who can help me, lend a hand. Check out any who are down or unconscious. Stop the bleeding keep them warm and quiet. If anyone can give me a hand to free Lady Quilanday I would appreciate that.”

Geim first concern was the Lady Quilanday. He hurried to her partially (or totally) covered body. "Khardox, I am in need of your healing might. There are so many badly wounded.” He uses a cure light wounds as soon as he gets to Lady Quilanday to stop bleeding from the massive wounds she had taken. Then he will try to extract her from under the beast. If he cannot pull her out from under the beast using all his strength, he will use soften earth to mud so he can slip her out as gently as possible. "

Once out from under the beast, Geim washes the Lady’s wounds and treats them (healing --using healer’s kit) and then summons his deities healing powers again. "Great Khardox, heal my brave companion who fought bravely, giving me time to use your spells and my weapons to good effect. She is a brave soul and deserving of you gift of healing." (Cure Moderate Wounds)

If she is stabilized Geim hurries over to the others in need, first the unconscious Thondrek to check on him, then Malius, and Loda in that order unless one of the others is more badly wounded. The thing was he did not have a lot of spells left so he would have to rely on his healing skills also. Regardless, Geim would use all his abilities, divine and hands on, to keep his comrades amongst the living.

He thought of Draven, alone in the tower but the man was dead or alive and he could do nothing about it with so many so badly wounded and needing immediate care. But he asked Khord for aid for the man. “Great Khord, there is a brave man fighting one of these beastie by himself. I know he is not a dwarf but he is a comrade and could use some help I daresay. If you would lend him a hand it would be relieving me some since I cannot help him right now.”

Subject: 3.5 advantages

I could eaily redo any character in 3.5 All you backgrouns and history would fit right in, no problem only the effect of the statistics change and game mechanics that are mostly in the background. I love 3.5 Shoot me you stats and I can play with them and get you input on feats and skills you might want to take for your character

Pros: 3.5 gives you stat bonus raisee every fourth level. Bonus feats every three plus those given by class taken. Fighters get fests at Ist and then again at every even level. No more ThacOsm is a plus. Multiclassing is easy. You can really scult a character.

Cons: it is new but that does not effect your actually roleplaying-just mechanics.

"Understood, Sergeant." Inga statess. His reasoning was practiocal and she could accept that. He didn't have to explain himself. Hrr respect for Sergeant Lee went up a notch in her estimation. Inga remained at ready, as backup so when the com unit is activated, she hears what the Lieutenant was saying. When Sgt Lee moves, she stays in cover position as he move up the hall to join Staff Sergeant Kanne and Coropel Hart..

"A hostile robot?" Thinks Inga. but wouldn't even wonder about this one, not now. Hostile is hostile--enough said. Inga's quick eyes sweep the hallway and she listens carefully to her and sounds approaching their current position.

"Inga switches to talk to team A, she had two quick questions, This is Johnannsen, IS anyone injured? Is there still hostile action

About 15 minutes later the diminuative dragonette flew quickly out of the sun to perch on her shoulder. "I'vess found Hissss location. Follow me," he whispers silibantly

Dae did exactly that. She moves her mare forward following the tiny creature. It keept above her--well sort of It keep trying to fly straight to wherever it was taking her but her path through town was something much longer. She had to twist and turn through streets and alleys. One time her surprised a man ascending a pipe in the back of a building. Oviously up to no good with a sack on his back and all in dark clothes.

The man took one look at the mounted warrior dropped his bag and jumped away. Dae rode over and looked down and the jewelry and other siver pieces. Dae rapped on the wall with the pommel of her swrord trying to draw the attention of the home owner. Finally someone peekdd out.

"What's going on? Why are you pounding on my walls?"

Dae looks up at the man, "I though you might want to reclaim this loot down here. A thief was climbing down from you place with it but when he saw me he fled."

"Loot? I 've been robbed?" squawks the man excitedly."

"Technically, yes, but it seems to be all here. You need to come down and claim what is yours and give what isn't to the constabulary. Light shine on you this day." she finishes and ride on following her tiny guide.

Finally she was out into a main street. The creature turned to the right and she follow until she could see the town's main square, dominated by a huge fountain.

The creature descends and lands on her shoulder. There he issss," the tiny dragonette points. "Over there."

Zara and Jason, followed by Septimus on his big black were just leaving the fountain area.

Back Post

Inga briskly rubs her hands together trying to get feeling back into her finger. She could not feel them they were so cold-and the bad part was they didn't respond well. she slips her rifle sling over her shoulder. She is not so concerned with the left hand because she used her hand not her fingers to control it, but her trigger fingers--that was an huge problem. Sgt Lee ordered her to stay back on the first door and cover him while he goes in. She keeps rubbing the fingers of her right hand against her body.

"Yes, Sgt Kane " Inga moves off with Sgt. Lee towards the first door on the left. She waits for him to say who is going in this first door. Either way is fine for her. However, as they approach the door, Sgt. Lee amends Staff Sgt. Kane's orders. He was going in first-period—while she was to remain as cover and backup, Inga responds with “Yes, Sgt.”

She wouldn’t discuss his change of orders now. This was not the time, but damn it, she was an Army Ranger. She earned her position same as everyone else in the Rangers. His relegation of her to backup only, irked her. But she wouldn’t let it affect her performance. She wouldn’t be a Ranger is she had done so.

When they get to the door, she gets ready to cover Sgt. Lee. She positioned herself so that when Sgt Lee enters she can gets the widest range of view she can. Lifting her weapon and siting down the barrel, she lets him know, “Ready.”

Current

A textbook entry and backup, but there was nothing amiss in the room. Sgt Lee swept the place over, Inga kept his back covered. And alert to the inside and out in the hall. A survey of the room and contents turned up nothing of significance. Inga looked at the PPA. “There might be something useful on those PPCs, Sergeant. The Warrant Officer might maybe able to figure something out.”

Inga thought that whatever had occurred, happened while the people who inhabited this room were out, most like during a work period. And it happened quickly to everyone that had occupied this room because they had not returned to gather their belongings

As the Sergeant finished up Inga checked out the hallway and stepped back out, waiting for the Sergeant to exit. She also checks down the hall towards the rest of her team.
