Midge, in D&D terms, is "dead and gone".  Aka completely, utterly dead.

Cedric is moderately wounded.  Everyone else is seriously wounded. 

Well, Kith bounces between mortal wounds and completely healthy. 

What a ride.

Aranwen is in a very dark place in her mind now. But despite immediate appearances, her will and resolve are not gone. She's in a corner, with no way out, but she's not dead. And she intends to make full use of this fact in whatever way she can.

...that is the point.  There is still life (for some).  It's not over yet.
