PrincessAli is going to be out a few more days, so her character will go along wth the party's plans - but don't expect anything innovative from her at this time.

Post Up

My post is up. Party, please rescue Midge from this foolish behaviour!!

Olan, please feel free to NPC Midge this week. Work is super hectic this coming week, and we had a death in our extended family so I will be at a funeral this week as well. Feel free to move the story ahead.

After this burning hands attack, Midge will look to move back to his position in the centre of the party and will likely fight with his staff sling.

Peace,

Ayrn

My condolences on your loss, Ayrn.

My post is up as well, Olan. Here are my intended actions.

  • Offense: Focus attacks on one giggler until it is dead, then move to the other. Yelling out to the remaining watch to keep their attention on the zombies if no one else does. Once the gigglers are dead, then he'll take care of the remaining threats.
  • Defense: If any of his companions look to be in a life-threatening condition, Gib will move to their side, use his shield defensively to protect himself and them as much as possible while calling upon Therassor to heal his companion using whatever second level prayer slots as needed to accomplish this. If he is the one who finds himself in a life-ending situation, but the fight is still raging, he will call to Therassor, commending his soul to the Battle Lord's Eternal Fields, and fight defensively until death. In his mind, there is no retreat possible while the town remains threatened.
  • Retreat: See above...

I just wanted to let you guys know that I am impressed by your writing. This is my first foray into pbp I feel so intimidated.

Don't be intimidated, man!  We have some quality players here, no doubt.  But look at the jump that Blackthorn has made from his first post to his recent efforts.

The trick is to get out of the mindset that you use when you're sitting around a table with your buddies.  When you're playing tabletop, it's a never ending conversation.  It's plenty to say "my priest turns the undead, then hangs back to heal."

But in PBP... that would be super boring if you had a DM setting the stage, and a half dozen people only posting their actions.

You don't have to go as far as some do, but if you'll just put together two or three short paragraphs that include what your character is thinking, feelings... it quickly becomes riveting reading, a collaborative story.  Don't worry about being some genius writer, just share things from your character's perspective.  As with most things, you get better with practice!

Yeah...

...what the boss said!

Don't be intimidated, we're all just people like you.

And, hey, if you need some input or assistance, don't be afraid to reach out... Ch'dau might bite but I don't.

no doubt

Eol has helped multiple people really spin up their writing.

If I can help... feel free to PM me, too.  I want to maximize the fun for everybody!

Post, away!

My condolences on your loss, as well, Ayrn.

Here are my intended actions for ol' kitty-puss.

  • Offense: Kill anything and everything that get's close to Midge, first and foremost. When/if Midge falls back to play artillery, again, Ch'dau will seek out the nearest giggler and do his very best to make mincemeat out of it.
  • Defense: Don't let anything get close enough to even have to worry about defense, of course.  If someone is overwhelmed, though, and Ch'dau get's an eye on the situation, he'll certainly divert to assist.
  • Retreat: Kazari do not retreat...

Once Blackthorn posts to the game thread (or at least drops something here in the Q&A to let me know his plans), I'll put the next game post up.
