An idea

Had this idea this morning while lying in bed. Not sure if anyone else had this idea already or if it was planned all along.

Since a comic is planned for the Inn, how about a specific forum dedicated to it? Much like the General Forum, with maybe two sub-forums; one dedicated to the RDI comic and the other to comics in general. Or maybe just add a RDI comic sub-forum to the General Forum list. A comic needs discussion forum for constructive feedback and for the readers to get wrong ideas about the plot. Just an idea.

comic forum?

I could certainly see a comic forum - that's an excellent idea.

However, please realize that we are still a significant way off from posting strip one.

heh

I have a bad memory when it comes to things I don't do right away, so it's better to post while I can still remember what I was thinking about

A suggestion

I really don't think the message subject box----^ is really doing much. excluding when people use it to name their threads, its most common use here I've noticed is to start sentences that are finished in the message body. So, if anything, can something at least be done to make it optional to fill out, as opposed to mandatory?

subjects?

I could make it optional, I suppose. Meh. We'll see.

Look what I did here!

Not optional, put could you possibly have it titled "Re: Thread Title" by default?

tavern name generator

The tavern name generator, a popular portion of our town generator utility, has been made accessible through a direct link in the Armoury. Of course, it is still available within the town generator, but now, there is no longer a need to create an entire town, if all you want is a name for your inn or tavern.

A sudden notion

A sudden notion struck me not moments ago while looking at my profile page. What if users could adopt stati (statuses?) like their games. I know a big 'on hiatus' banner next to my name would certainly benefit me given the essays I am supposedly attempting to do as I type here. Not that you would ever notice that I'm trying to restrict my diversion time in favour of trying to get these blocks of text and (but not necessaryily including) intuitive thought written out and handed in.

For all my foresight, I don't think 'fizzled' would be a status. Those who fizzle don't tend to worry about letting everyone else know. (Though if you foresee a great extent of time away, perhaps fizzled would be more appropriate than on hiatus?). Also, I most certainly don't think 'completed' applies to here either...

But then I suppose all this is what the purpose of the comings and goings section is eh? Well goodnight.

Well...

For user statuses, it'd probably be:
[blank] - assumed active
Busier - RL strikes again, and the person isn't as active as they normally are
On Hiatus - They are so busy that they probably don't have any opportunity to post in the near-future
Inactive - For those people that 'disappear'...

I think it'd be a good thing to have as well, because not everyone checks the coming/going threads, and it can be simply a reminder in the case where the person uses both

As for where the status would appear, obviously it would on their profile page, but it'd probably be a good idea to also put it on the side of the post where their mini-profile is, like under where it says the post count.

I think that's a really good idea too.

On Another Note

When can we have different names and avatars for our different games. Someone once mentioned it before.

hehe

Can our PM totals count towards our post totals

That would push me well over 1300, even more if you count sent messages lol
