Olan, I have no problem with your assumptions regarding the actions Aranwen took in this instance. Circumstances didn't leave him with much choice.

I know you are busy and I felt there wasn't a lot of choices left open to you.  Honsestly, unless you had chosen to stay behind, or circle the cabin or something, this is how it would have played out no matter what, given Ch'dau doing his best beserker rage impersonation.
