Random thought

At this point, I'm almost thinking that the fire thing with the combat puppet will be somehow unintentional... the fire from the study on the floor below rekindling/spreading up to this floor or, maybe, a toppled candle/lamp sparking a second blaze much closer. *shrugs*

Not quite close to the point where the rook comes into play, at this point, but, it struck me that an "accidental" kindling of the rook might make the most sense... unless Ara or Kith (or even Mosic) have a sudden insight or idea, of course. Ch'dau's enough of a meathead that he'd likely try and hack and slash the thing to bits without giving active consideration to flames.

Some possible Morgana lines

Really, dear? I'd hope you had more faith in your [mistress's] investments.

My resources are greatly limited at this time and place, it's true. However, I do have... This... I trust Aranwen remembers these puppets

(on Kithran's dagger)

That blade might have seriously wounded a lesser creature. But to me, it only gave some... Minor discomfort.

(on Adedre's death)

How inconvenient...

Have you seen my pet Tibbers?

I like the accidental kindling thing. Lady Luck does seem to be on our side, after all

Other fitting quotes from that game

"I know what makes them tick. I know how to make the ticking stop."

"Why do they keep breaking?"

Just imagine Morgana with Oriana mannequins...

Saeranwen

Great, all five of us are at the door lol looking forward to how this is going to pan out in this BBEG battle *gulp*

"Ara, focus! We are in battle!" : I chuckled at that part oh Ara, it's just your lost wife communicating with you via your mind. Pay attention!

LOL

I'm reading these Saeranwen posts and thinking... Yeah... That's kind of what it's like in Tochi's head, just add about four more voices. I can totally sympathise.

Good stuff, Rer!

Should have a post for Ch'dau ready to go in a little while.

Who knows

Maybe a blade will find its way into Aranwen's left hand...

Hmmmm...

...a bladesinger with two blades? That could turn into a whirlwind of whoopass, PDQ!

Ch'dau's going through the doors with only one blade in hand, so there's a spare falcata available... Juuuuuust sayin.

Okay...

...so, I decided to keep it short for this bit, in order to let the two of you post your own actions/reactions, etc, as you see fit.

Ch'dau, of course, will be attempting to tear his way through whatever guards might be trying to cover Adedre's retreat/spell-slinging (I'm almost imagining bone spike being lauched, for some reason, tbh), but weeeeeeeee'll see.

I mean...

...what's wanton blood spilling without a bit of humor to make it fun, right?

That's why My Favorite Murder is one of my favorite podcasts! Blood-spilling and humor go together like peas and carrots!

Anyhooooo, the door is open and our bladesinger is mesmerized by Ch'dau's rippling muscles , what's our slitch up to on the other side?

LOL

Have you listened to Small Town Murder? That's gotta be one of my favorite podcasts. Hysterical!

As to Adedre - Tecla is low-key guiding her to the "secret door to the tower" but Adedre herself is firing up some spellwork. Probably going to be a barage of bone spikes shooting toward our group in short order, and mayhap a 'darkness' spell of some sort (which I imagine Mosic might counter in some fashion). Beyond that, feel free to improvise... Once Tecla realizes Adedre isn't going to be quick about getting to the stairs, things get... interesting...
