"Rose, I'm gonna get you to safety. Come on, we have to go back. Max might not have left yet."

Seth lifted Rose up on his shoulders after shooting down two more Lycans. He started running with her, the pain in his knee getting to extreme levels. But the USMC taught him better than to leave a comrade. His motto was Semper Fi, do or die. Noone gets left behind. Why hasn't max come yet? that thought ran through his head the whole run.

Max struggled to get the rope off her wrists. "Tell me now. Where is he." The Lycan hissed in her face. Max looked at him.

"Derric, let me go. There are people DYING! Don't you understand?" Max had tears in her eyes. She was tied to the chair, unable to move except to struggle.

Exhausted, Seth barged into the room that Max and Rose shared, and was immediately slapped down. "F**K!" was yelled as Seth hit the ground, sending Rose sprawling across the floor. Seth stood back up and glared at the biggest Lycan ever. "You leave the girls alone. One might die anyways, so there's no need for you to touch her. Now let Max here go!" Seth pulled out his pistol, but it was snatched from his hands. The wolf pinned him against the wall by his throat, picking him up. Seth was futiley kicked, hoping someone would come and get this beast off of him.

"Derric stop, this isn't you! Your dad's on his way. Look at me Derric!" Max yelled frantically.

He looked back alittle.

"Look at me Derric. What is so different or dangerous about me? I won't hurt you: I promise. Let Seth down and let me go. Look at Rose: She's dying Derric. Please." Max pleaded, her eyes overflowing.

Seth heard the soothing words of Max, and was immediately shocked.

Could this Lycan be Travis's child?

He thought he felt the pressure on his throat recede, but he couldn't be too sure. It might just be wishful thinking.

Max kept eye contact with him.

"Just let Seth down. You can do whatever you want to me. But don't hurt Seth." Max's voice was calm and level, from practice.

She didn't know whether Derric would hurt her, but he did let Seth go.

Seth whispered a quick prayer as he hit the ground. He slowly backed up to Rose, showing Derric that he wasn't going to attack him, and placed her on the bed. "You have reasoning. Please, let us aid our friend."

Max kept eye contact with him. Finally, the ropes rubbed off and it snapped. Max moved her hands and stood up. She put them on Derric's shoulders.

"We'll wait for your father and let Seth help Rose."

Max said. Her eyes stared into Derric's. She wanted to leave and let Rose be helped.

Seth had Rose laid out on the bed. He didn't know what to do! He needed Max here to direct him. "Max. It's venom. I have no clue what to do to help her"

"Suck it out."

Max kept eye contact with Derric.

Dominic stood up and wiped his mouth. His eyes were a bright orange. He pulled out a thin rapier and faced Travis. The cigarette burn still stung on his face, but he looked at Dominic with just as much fury as he had whe he ahd arrived.

"Now is where I hold to my promise...you killed my wife, but I not be so understanding to you."

He lunged, sending Dominic sailing backward and slamming into the side of a building. Dominic ran like a scared cat, right into the building and up the staircase to the roof. Travis tore open the door to the roof and scanned for the overgrown tabby. He wasnt there... Travis moved to the edge and peered off. He saw Derric holding Seth by the throat.

"NO!" he screamed. As he whirlled around to halp them he met Diminics fist. Travis stumbled sending him dangerously close to the edge of the building. Dominic had lost his sword, and pulled out a golden pistol with ivory handles. Travis swatted it from his hand and it clattered several feet away.

Dominic lunged at Travis, and Travis sidestepped. The man was sent soaring off the edge of the roof. He just barley managed to grab on, hanging by a claw. Travis picked up the pistol and aimed it straignt at Dominics head.

"This isnt quite what I had in mind, but It'll have to do."

He fired, and Dominic threw himself upward, flipping easily over Travis and knocking him into the very same position Travis was in. The pistol fell to the street below.

"This is no fairy tale Carter...the good guys dont win this time..."

He raised his foot to stomp Travis' hand, but Travis' quick words stopped him.

"Before you do this Dominic, I know you have at least some chivalry left in you. Would you listen to a dying mans last wish."

"I suppose I could afford you that luxery." Dominics foot was still raised.

"My last wish is that...you go down with me..."

Travis grabbed his raised foot and yanked as hard as he could. They fell quickly, landing in a pile of garbage piled next to the building.

"Before Dominic regained his balance, Travis unloaded a round from the golden pistol into his head. Dominic slumped, and Travis pushed his body off of him. He stood up and spit on the corpse, dragging it to the street. He flipped it over so Dominics newly dead face could see the sky. Then, he crushed Dominics skull in with his boot.

Pocketing the pistol, he ran off to find his friends and his son.

Rose was fighting, but she was losing.

"B-Bite..." Rose fell into the voic, comalike state of the venom's affect.

Seth looked at the bite with disgust, but he knew what he had to do. He began sucking at the wound, spitting the poisoned blood out. He wondered how much he was going to have to suck out, but Rose would probably let him know.

Rose opened her eyes after a few minutes and smiled alittle.

"Enjoying yourself?"

"Not quite. Are you?" Seth stood up, and immediately started washing his mouth out. "Blood tastes gross."
