Maybe one of the Mages could cast Wind Wall to slow down the bodies. Then Max and Ody could catch maybe two?

Maybe a Web behind the wind to catch the slowed bodies.
At least they won't SPAT on the bridge.

the problem ( or challenge in business speak) here is that the elf boys are not falling. They have been thrown. So you are trying to do the equivalent of catching a cinder block throw from a small catapult off a tall building at your head. You may be able to do it, but it won't be pretty. Spells are great but it is a matter of time. If the elves hit at the 2nd segment and the spell takes three secs, well you get the picture.

Because this is a fantasy based game I will give people a chance to catch. If you succeed, depending on how well you do you may get away with minimal damage. You can not dampen inertia.

The flyers have a Better chance to save because their magic is active and designed with carrying burdens in mind. Even then, Arien or Lun could be pushed into the Rock cliff and take some damage.

It is a risk. But you might save them and you can heal later.

... something along the lines of wind wall or gust of wind, at one point, but, in addition to the reasons given by Alacrity (casting time, etc), I ruled them out as options because of the possibility that either spell had the potential to blast Arien (and perhaps to a lesser degree Lun) into a wall or ceiling causing unwanted damage to our noble meatshield.

Considered a few other options as well but all seemed to me as if they might end messily, too, soooooo.... *shrug*
