I had a feeling that we were pretty darned tough. I mean, c'mon... Arien has the best AC you can have in 2e, at least in some situations... and in others, he's only one point off. Plenty of hitpoints, can deal stupid amounts of damage, stupid high chances to hit. He's truly a combat monster.

He lasted one round. Holy crap.

The rest of the team looks great on paper. Yet, we're all mostly down, or badly hurt... after one round. With the front door guard monster. At a trap we knew was a trap.

Ouch.

That's what we get for being noble and "good" I guess. Should have fireballed the hunters from the get go and moved on.

Arien is damn tough but he had venomous leeches barfed upon him at extreme close range and armour ain't gonna help you in that situation unless it is a space suit.

What happened to "we will enjoy this because of the writing and the adventure"???


BTW - The dice roller on the website really does like to roll low.

I'm not complaining, Roger. You couldn't have laid a better trap for Arien.

I was just saying I'd enjoy it, even if somebody (including Arien) dies. TPK right here, maybe not quite so fun.

But that's okay. Roll up new characters, and next time, we immolate the corpses of our former characters who are the new bait. It's all good.

That was a very good post! Wow! I most definitely did not anticipate dead elf warriors vomiting leeches. Good times!

So, are we able to assess what is threatening the party at the moment? By that, I mean, are there still tentacles trying to kill us? Are the crazy leeches still trying to swarm us?

From here on, we shoot everything, including Galen... just in case.

Three of the six tentacles are damaged and no longer attacking.

Three of the arms still moving but not attacking for now. However I will tell you the three are going to lengthen and head directly for the unconscious party members.

Arien fell in the rocky gully near the bridge on the side of the pathway you appeared upon.

Good News - Your healers are still up and one party member is basically immune to the poison of the leeches.

Bad news - Those with leeches will probably be bitten again and need to do something. Those who are down can't help themselves and probably need help badly or change their name to buffet.

for the record, the Mage did not just lose all his spells. Under my mana system you don't lose spells when unconscious. He will start losing mana however if he is out for more than 3 rounds but slowly.

..... with Pen and Paper earlier and have to check a couple things and then Type Post in a Document and then Post here at the Inn before I go to sleep!
