Sigh ... here we go again

Loki - you may find solace and comradeship with Tann on the "Alacrity has no sense of humour" front. He has been telling me that for years. I do have a sense of humour but it is dry, very dry, maybe too dry. For example, my last post was written to be humourous.

Yoohoo? Celeste? You out there? Ship needs a pilot, game needs a post.

No Sence Of horr....uh humor?????????

Roger has a sence of humor...just look at the fun he's had with Ash, shot in back.. blown off a building, nearly buried alive and that was just one day, lol.

But then Ash did have the Triplets...Rip, tear, fling.....

Don't get twichy Loki it's all good! If you feel there is a good story line to push tensions between character then by all means go for it. Q&A is a good place to coordinate that so it roles out how you want. Sometimes best friends start out beating the snot out of each other.

I shot Asher in the back the day before he got blown up. I am not a complete ogre.

humor

I'd say that you're sense of humor was very dry in that case.

On another note, I've started re-watching firefly (technically I'm re-re-watching firefly) and it's given me quite some ideas, so if I might I will also encourage Celeste to post so we can do the thing.

dogfighting much?

My plan is to gain altitude with the Immelmann, followed by an s-split, dropping, twisting and gaining speed so we can glide over the fire on the ground. We should have enough speed, so I’ll cut the engines as we are passing over/through the flames so the heat seekers will target it instead. Let me know if I need to clarify anything!

Interesting

is a good word for it. Rocinante is a bit of a brick with wings when it comes to flying in atmosphere, so if we're going to pull off what Wyatt wants, we're going to need speed before we cut the engines and glide so the missiles will catch the fire's signature, which the split-s should provide. Although, after gaining height in the Immelmann it won't *quite* be a split-s, but more like a modified dive.

Altitude should cool off Roc before we go into that highspeed drop, and having the missiles chase straight up will allow Tess to avoid them when she spins around to make the dive.

Too much? Seems like a good plan to me.

Also: I'm getting some ideas from this here WWII Air Combat online pdf. Click me!
The split-s (page 8 ) looks a little different in this document, but I think it's just a matter of which way is up. *winks*

Also

The big differences between the two graphics is that the one posted is a bi-plane, and the document shows manuevers for the P51 Mustang or better, which would be a more accurate representation of our ship in relation to the manuevers I am attempting.

That

sounds cool.

Good post Celeste, Tess sure has some pluck pulling off those tricks. Let's hope the flying brick can pull off the Immelmann to lose us those pesky missiles.

EDIT: A note about John's age. I'm not too sure what year this campaign is set in, but I figured something like the same sorta time Firefly is set. That being the case John is about early to mid 30s. Don't quite know why this is important, just wanted to give you all a handle on John's age.

Great post, as always, Celeste (and everyone else, of course)! Having lots of fun watching this little "movie" play out in my mind's eye.

A brick?

A brick with the ability to zero out gravity and control the effects of inertia on it so I think that you have a better chance than you think.

I am a moron

who didn't think about the fact that she can zero out gravity, and was purely looking at aerodynamics.

Besides, if I didn't have faith in Roc, I would have never attempted a stunt like this.

sleepy

I realize you are all waiting patiently for me to post but I have to admit to being exhausted today so I doubt I will get to it today. More likely tomorrow or Wed.

sleepy?

You're Sleepy?

Since when did you become a Disney character?

Personally I think this is unacceptable, first you waited for us all to post now you expect us to wait another one or two days.

This is UNACCEPTABLE and we DEMAND a post now!
