YeOlde messaged me that he has some serious health issues that are going to sideline him and I read Nomad's mesage about his RL.

Both of you are in my thoughts and I hope things work out as best they can. Don't worry, I will NPC until you are ready to come back.

I will not be posting to any of my games for about two weeks. Too busy with RL but I'll be back.

With Nomad's RL situation and the passing of YeOlde, I am ay odds with how to proceed in the game. My gut instinct is to end this games and move on. But there are still three of you playing and I don't want to leave you if the interest is still there.

So let me know your thoughts. I will not have another player take YeOlde's character. I do not believe that is respectful. Brutal will be NPC'ed until he can be taken out of the story in a heroic or befitting way.

I am thinking of starting a RPG based on Supernatural the TV series. You'd play Hunters of the supernatural in the Real World. If we end this game, all of you are welcome to join that one.

If you want to call this game it is alright with me, but I can continue the game too. The relationship between Doc and Brutal was very key to my writing. YeOlde's humor and story made it easy for rooky like me to develop prose.

I built Doc after my father, he was Medic in WW2 in the Pacific, but YeOlde helped me give Doc his own life.

So Roger it's up to you. I can always bring back "John (Jack) Steward Reid" in another story.

BTW "Jake" is my older brothers nickname so when YeOlde used it for Brutal it made the relationship even closer for me.

I'm with Ody. This will be your decision and it will be fine either way. This game has been fun so far, but with the recent developments, I can understand you ending it.

Besides, if you are thinking of another game, chances are that you are much more enthusiastic about that than continuing Rautenberg. And that's only logical and fine.

So I have to go against Ody and Almerin and say why we don’t just switch out Brutal for another soldier. Say in the course of roaming the castle we find that another of the Paratroopers from our plane survived and was captured before the castle went totally Sci-Fi.

We then lose Brutal rescuing him and he get's Brutal’s gear. In that way we keep the game running, honor YeOlde by making his character the hero of the day and we gain a new player. I really think YeOlde would hate the fact that the game ended because of his passing as he told me more then once he enjoyed Trilogy, Castle and Rocinante the most of the ones he played in.

However like Almerin again said it’s really up to you Alacrity....

I like this game too and have not moved on. I am just balancing the loss of two players on a five man team. I have no problem writing Brutal out with a heroic ending. A prisoner? Hurm. Sounds cheesy but hey this was always based on hollywood WWII, so what is a little cheese between cells?

Let me ponder. I am still quite busy (am at work right now actually) but things should be easing up by Friday.

Open options to bring in a character could a German soldier or officer trying to stay alive, cool conflicts there, survival vs. ideology. A scientist that was brought in for the technology, he didn't know the purpose, he would be more neutral, could know Greta?

Just some thoughts.

However no sci-guy we need a replacememt in the combat catagory. Right now we are only 5 soldiers, a civie (Though she does kick butt) and a German white coat.

A German soldier though could bring more ingame drama to the game then Alacrity may want as the Sarge won't trust him one bit, but its still a thought.

I like the idea of a soldier rescued from the wreckage by Nazis and brought in as prisoner. Prehaps only awking now. The tech you have capture might tell you about him....

I haven't even read all of the last 5-6 posts yet, but saw a couple of them. Yes, my real life has had some real serious shocks lately. But in all honesty - it almost makes the games more important. I need an escape from reality, which these games provide. So, what does it mean for my posting? I'm not sure. That is why I posted the news. I might have some times when I simply don't have time to post. But so far I think I have kept up with it. I doubt I would miss very frequently, but I might sometimes. Of course, things could go splat on me also, I just don't know. But I think I could post the vast majority of time. Probably. So I'd love to see the game continue. Or, if needed, I could take on a role in a new game. Or, since there are unpredictable variables, I could sit out. But i'd hate to have a game cancelled in part because of me, especially when so far i have been able to keep up.

Well as long as you're sure, ...

So I will need to find another player to take on a captured American team member. Suggestions?
