Subject: How dare thee!

Aaron spat a rebuke at the bitch. How dare she look at him as if he were weak!
"You assume too much broad! And you are now starting to get on my nerves!" He then pulled out his handguns. They were pointed at the ground by his side for now, but that could change very soon.
"I fly with the wings of Hermes, A messenger to the world.
I can warn you of the soon-to-be, if you heed my word." His eyes glare at the woman with a stern and cold intensity. "Answer me this riddle correctly, and I will allow your fault to go unnoticed. Answer it wrong, or refuse, and I will deal with you in the same manner as I did the wretch outside..."

The half-orc nods. It is apparent that their attention was on the immediate situation and would not allow them to contemplate his deal. No matter, this was a better chance than any for him to escape. He would oblige their commands... for now.

The unknown dwarf had made a statement to him. The half-orc opened his one good eye and gazed towards the one who was calling to him. He wanted his help? That was all fine and well, but he would demand something in return.
“If I help you, you must help me. Agree to this and I will do as you say. Aid me in regaining my freedom and I will aid you in protecting your lives.”

Subject: update

so i updated my last post to make Clearwater ready for battle, I also have him believing that this could still be a coordinated ambush, and that they could have laid some traps along the road and themselves as bait. If Bruno cannot perceive anything, would anyone disagree that he would rage and charge? With his past performance, i know he is honor based and his goal is to protect the wagon, his employer, and his friends. However, he is a barbarian warrior, and once he has the desire for combat he could forget all his manners and go straight into the fray.

I am asking this cause I am at a moral conundrum between power playing and role playing, both options seem plausible to me, and would like some group decision before I blatantly declare that I am going to draw first blood. The reason why I think it is acceptable to ask the rest of the group is because our group has been adventuring together in the past, so we would know where are niches are in battle.

Subject: well in either case

RDInn so far has decided it is not a true list of geeks (presuming that we are indeed geeks).

In all honesty, i think it is less of titles that really matters then types: movies with a certain... geeky feeling. all in all, I have found that there are different kinds of geeks, just like there are different kinds of religions; so it would be really hard to encompass all of them in one category.... this is speaking on the concept that this list was indeed serious >_<

I do not really understand the point of the list. Usually such a thing is for jokes "because it is true", but this one seems to apparently loose that quality because out of all us D&D geeks, no one has seen 15/20 of them...

Epic Fail as a funny/true list?

I never wrote that Bruno got off. In fact, I said he put his ax away and had got hold of the reigns... to this, I do not know how you are confused with my action proposition.

Now, as far as your suggestions, I would gladly accept them if I can take back my character's mind set and post... if this is the case, should I just delete Bruno's post or should I rewrite it?

Bruno will simply stay around the wagon. If a gnoll comes to close, Bruno will jump off the pony, land, then draw his ax. damn the pony if Talon could possibly get hurt.

Bruno is going to need to tie down his pony. Anywhere he could do so?

Also, I cannot connect to the webpage to see the new map... any ideas on how I can fix this? I tired with both google chrome and Internet Explorer.

Aaron scowled at the group of peons before him. It was getting way to crowded; luckily none of these guys looked like they were with Mr. Anderson. They looked clean... mentally and inwardly speaking. On their exteriors they were just as shit-faced as he was. It must have been a rough night all-round.

“Who the Hell are you?” Aaron spat out. They should feel proud to have gathered enough of his attention that he would speak to them directly. He had asked the question to the woman at the forefront. Before anyone had time to speak, Aaron burst out once more “I don’t have time for the likes of you. Get out of my way or take the challenge. I got a kill I need to confirm!”

One of the figures at the entrance had called the other Thiferl. It seemed that in one case or another, these people were here to bust the slaves out of their current cell. But to what ends? There was a proverb that the half-orc had heard once: “One who has broken free from the slavery has bound himself to the shackles of freedom.” It would be foolish to let these people go on their own with nothing, as they would be as good as dead in the desert (for the desert is the only place that they could go to with such brandings). The half-orc sighed; there was no point in worrying about the others, he needed to look out for himself. It seemed that a flow was starting as the slaves were pulled up. He would come up last, as he did not wish to be near the humans.

Again the half-orc opened his right eye. He could see bright light entering into the dark dungeon cell. Human slaves flocked to the front, gossiping in hushed voices about what was happening. In his meditative stance, the half-orc stayed where he sat. Why would these creatures get so excited over the ruckus on the other end? It was highly unlikely that whoever there was here to free us, and even if they were, there was the whole problem of the branding mark that each had on his/her left shoulder. Surely these weak and pitiful creatures did not have the resolution that he did on removing such a symbol from their bodies? He mere shook his head. The valence distance between him and the closest humans had doubled now; their bodies pushed against each other as they tried in a chaotic panic to reach out beyond the bars; begging to be let go. The children and the newly born infant started to cry. Things were starting to get out of control.

The half-orc stood up. He towered not over the crowd; he was small for his kind, standing at 5’10”. He stretched his arms behind himself and found crevices in the walls for his fingers to dig into. Lifting himself up in this manor he looked to see what all the commotion was about. He saw that before them there was no guard, but rather a mischievous looking Halfling at the room’s entrance. The half-orc grunted and lowered himself down and resumed his cross-legged stance and closed his eye. Things just might get interesting now...

Subject: Coordinate or Fit?

The rustling has evidently caught everyone’s attention, not just the nature-bred Halfling’s. With his Fox head helm-hood swiftly placed on his head, Bruno Clearwater draws his great two-handed axe. There was too much foliage about for him to activate its dormant enchantment, so the Crimson Chin would have to play it rough without a flaming blade. He looked to his companions. They knew how he liked to fight: outright and in a blaze of glory, but this situation probably called for a bit more finesse as it was not just them versus an enemy. The enemy was unknown in nature and in location. There was a possibility that it was not a threat at all that made that noise... What was more however, was the need to protect their ‘employer’. To this end, it would hardly be smiled upon if the Halfling charged forward blindly in a fit of rage, initiating combat before everyone was ready. No, now was the time to plan silently.

Garik had used his inner power to replicate a humanoid figure with his witch fire. An excellent way to start the possible encounter: if it was a sentient being that wished to do them harm, he/she would most certainly be attracted to the new source of light and possibly make his/her location known; if it was a natural animal of minute intelligence, then the illusion should scare the creature from the area unless it is feral/starving. It was only now that Bruno found an error with his own means of fighting: he was on a pony and required both hands to fight! How could he have overlooked such an obvious detail! Placing his weapon on his back once more, Bruno took hold of his pony’s reigns. The horse was bred and trained for combat, so there should be little to worry if this creature hears a fight going on. To be on the safe side, Bruno trots the creature to the rear of the wagon and slips off the saddle.

Now he could actually partake in the fight! The Crimson Chin withdrew his great ax and leaped back to the front of the cart (being sure to go around enough not to scare the horses). Making eye contact with the largest of the dog-men, Bruno started to get angry; they were ugly, tall, and probably smelly. To think that such creatures had whisked his love away from him. He kept eye contact with the large (presumably) alpha of the pack. those eyes continued to feed the flames of rage starting up inside. He wanted to challenge that creature to mortal combat, but right now may not be the time.

Bruno was weary that creatures such as these did not fight fair; their intelligence may not be the grandest in the world, but their craftiness could be astounding. Bruno looks at the distance between the two parties, making sure that nothing had been placed on the road, or if the road had perhaps been tampered with.

Subject: conversing on the go

I for one usually think that camp is the best way to talk things up. Here is why I think such:
When a group is traveling, they have the clopping of horses, the song of birds, and other sounds impearing them from hearing danger. Adding another distraction to the mix is rather cumbersome.

At night, there is a little less action (no horses clomping about at least), and since it does take time to settle in, it is the perfect time to have a meeting. Also, since a group does not usually (in my logic) travel an entire day without a full stop to rest the horses, this could be another time for the group to discuss.

Bruno is not very extrovert in character, so he does not talk alot.

As for the current, Bruno would most definatly be at the laed, he does not have the Track Feat however... I cannot believe I do not have that and have great fortitude! Sorry to everyone out there, I should have thought to take this feat instead of munchkining it up. XD Will post later on today, as I am at family for Canadian Thanksgiving.

Clearwater reined his pony in. The discussion on the priestess did piqué his interest, so he wished to hear what everyone had to say.
"I have been thinking a lot since we received our quest yesterday. There are two possibilities. The King is alive, or the King is dead. The former though has various aspects that could be why he has not returned to his throne...” Moon Cat stated. Bruno gave his grunt of approval. The worst case scenario right now was not really that the King was dead, but rather was alive and in enemy hands. However, worrying about an unknown situation was to be pathetic and cowardly.
“Dwelling on the unknown is frivolous my friends.” Bruno inserted. “All we need to worry about right now is getting to Leafhaven in one piece.” It was ironic. This advice would have to be applied to himself as well. His wife could be dead or alive; but it mattered little if he was not in the condition to save her. He had a possible lead: as far as he knew, Gnolls were not as common as air, and so he could possibly catch wind of some clues. However, he needed to clear his mind and get out of this despair. He needed to be ready for anything. Nudging his horse forward, Bruno took point for the group once the conversation came to a close.

We could use it as emergency rations (for those who do not have the amazing R of S)! Or use it like they did Bill in LotR and have it take the attack of some monster while the rest of us escape!

HAHAHA, the devilish ideas one comes up with. Bruno would not think of these things mind you... at least not as a plan. Perhaps spur of the moment...

Yeah Bruno has one too, so the whole guard duty should not be too big of a deal: someone without a ring of S. watches for the first 3 hours, then gets a good night sleep while the rest of us keep watch. I am good with suggested traveling marching order.
