The Supplies I have is all that I need... I think. How long would it take us to get to this Leafhaven? I am thinking as far as food.
Oh, a riding dog or a war poney would be a good investment i think, so that we can get their in all due haste. If you would be so kind as to update that on my character sheet, that would be great Tiamat =D

The blood in Bruno’s veins was heated from the callous retort. But he calmed himself, for he knew that to lose his temper here was to make irreparable trouble to both him and his companions.
“She is of high status among her people...” Bruno told himself, “Like the shaman of my own tribe.” He nodded silently. With a little insight, he cooled himself down.
“I am sorry for going out of my place to ask assistance. I will take your advice and use my gold in the ways you have suggested.” He then followed the guard who was to escort him out.

Once he was with his companions, he heard from Isilifeline the words “We will bring you wife home to the safety of your village." This made the Halfling flush. Apparently his private audience was heard by the others in one way or another. The red in his face was half anger, and half embarrassment. Indeed his own tribal standards had put the Halfling on a low status. How could one be considered a man if he could not tend to and protect his family? Now, not only did his tribe know of his folly, but also his long-time companions knew of this pathetic ordeal. Mayhap they would distrust them with their lives now that they knew of his shameful lack of performance. The anger he felt was not towards his friends, and so it was not the same form of furious rage he felt like he did moments earlier. It was the ascending and receding anger which orbited his helplessness. This he had to push down, though it was far harder to swallow, for there was no logic in his mind that could allow him sufferage.

Not knowing how to act upon the act of kindness that Elven companion had done unto him, he simply stopped in his tracks. He refused to show his emotions at this point, as to do so would be to show sorrow, tears, and perhaps howls of despair. These were not the things that a man should do. To show them was to show weakness; frailty. No. Now was not the time to worry about his wife. He was lost on where or what to do. Though he did not know the specifics on how dire the situation was right now with the human politics, he knew that to summon forth the Crimson Chin and his equally reputable companions was to surely mean that things were critical to some extent; perhaps civil war due to lack of leader? In any case, the Crimson Chin was brought forth on request of aid; and aid he shall give; though his heart longed to be off and find the woman in whom he was comfortable in sharing his tender side.

Breaking out of this trance. Bruno confidently walked out of the grasp of his dear friend and turned to face her, though his stature made him look up.
“No, fair Isilifeline! You need not worry about my own plights! For now, we should focus on the quest that is set before us. We should make haste to Leafhaven as soon as we have gathered our materials! Onwards! To adventure! To glory!”

Subject: pokeballs anyone?

I am wondering, did Iris gain 'all' those pokeballs in the lab, or did we split them amoung our group evenly? no one really said anything, and as it appears Iris is our unofficially elected (oxymoron) leader, that she would have decided who gets what.

Also, the term "blacking out" was originally used in red/blue; however, in recent games it has been verified (as I presumed when I was younger) that it means a trainer simply scurries off to the nearest Pokemon center. one does not simply teleport via abra-like ability to a center to revive his/her pokemon. That is, unless our faithful GM decides that in his... or her world it does work that way

Sorry Malek04 I do not know thine sex xD

Norman Typekin took in some deep breaths. His narcolepsy cannot get the better of him in this situation. If it did, he could very well plummet to the forest floor.
“Why doesn’t anyone make an actual road towards this city?” Norman inquired out loud to no one in particular.

With his heart rate steady, Norman took his first steps onto the canopy branches. (Presuming the branches are not THAT narrow) Norman found that it was not that bad to travel. Sure some balance was required as the branches were by nature cylindrical and uneven, but none the less they were broad enough to hold a full grown man, not to mention the various Pokémon wildlife. So long as he or any of his friends did not step on an extremely damp or mossy spot, the lot should be fine.

“Dan, are you ok?” Norman voiced his concern. He knew Dan for some time, and had even been to a couple of the young performer’s practices. He knew of the poor lad’s acrophobia: his extreme fear of heights. None the less, the tone in Norman’s voice was intended not to be one of any pity, rather just a casual remark of inquiry. He knew that if he was in Dan’s shoes, he would not want people pitying him...

"This all sounds good, but I don't think we could actually get anyone to come. We are actually foreigners to these lands, and have no relationships with the humans of this area. For us to tell them that the kobold people desire to have a talk when they have already experienced hostility will be hard to persuade. We will do our best, but to get them here, and unarmed may be to much to expect."

Subject: The Crimson Chin's Desire

Bruno Clearwater listened silently to the Priestess as she requested the company’s assistance. Though he himself did not much care for spell weavers in general, those divine in origin were people that he granted respect to. Indeed Bruno would be the first to acknowledge that he knew nothing of the world around him, and that these people were able to access entities that could see far beyond the scope of any mortal. These entities, at least the ones this woman channelled, leased their power for the forces of good. In contrast, spell weavers of what were called the ‘arcane artes’ were far more questionable in where they got their power from. It was unnatural to the Halfling barbarian, and so it was hard for him to accept many who played with this form of magic.

Priestess Jaspina’s words came to him, and he was focused, or at least he was trying to. At the back of his mind, thoughts tugged at him. He was not one who desired to bring his miseries to others, and so often when things were wrong he swallowed them down and acted as if nothing were wrong. However, the circumstances for this situation were extremely drastic. His own wife, who was with child, had been taken from him. She was just outside his tribe’s village, acquiring herbs as was her job in the community. However, it just so happened that a small band of slavers was in the area, and seeing the small woman was too much to resist. By the time the village had figured she was in trouble, it was too late; the group had fled with the woman and covered their tracks behind them. The only thing that the hunters could deduce was this: Gnolls were the race of the slavers.

Bruno shook his head, as he came back to reality. The priestess had finished. He caught the tail end of a reward, but that meant little to him. He could have all the gold, ale, and power in the world, and none of it would matter if he could not share it with his wife and child. Bruno was silent, this was natural for him: he often said nothing when in the presence of “civilized” societies. Often there would be cultural barriers that ruined proper communication. And with his quick temper, things often turned into a raging brawl.

However, when the party finishes its meeting with the woman and are heading for the exit, Clearwater stealthily creeps to the Priestess’ side.

“I am sorry your... holiness? I was hoping that I might talk to you in private for only a few minutes.”
(presuming she allows this)
“I am bad at talking, so I will get right to the point. My wife has recently been taken from me. Gnoll slavers are supposedly the reason she is no longer in the safety of my village. As it is, I was wondering if instead of gold, you may instead give me some sort of aid in locating her? Please!”
The Halfling feels awkward at this point, and his body language reflects this feeling. It is rare for a man of his pride to beg, but in the face of never seeing his wife again such a thing is inconsequential.

now that i know the current situation, I shall get ate it "write" away =D

btw, i noticed that some weapons are more then just a +1. Does that mean I could have spent additional money on one item? I was confused as to whether we could spend 10% or 20% max on any one item, so i restricted myself to 10% just incase. If it is a 20% max, could you enhance my weapon for me? (I am at college, and I forgot my 3.5 books >.<)

Before I make any posts, could you tell me what the situation is on his loved ones that were captured? If he knows they are safe, then all is well.

You said we are close friends, yet I wrote to you that Crimson Chin is in a rather grim and passionate situation... if his family is not secured, then has he been promised information/assistnece in finding his beloved wife and child?

Norman gave a shudder. The instructions that were left, ending with the scene of Pokémon disappearing was too much for young Norman. At first he began to nod off, his eyes getting heavy. Soon he crumbled to the ground, his brain no longer signaling his legs to stand strong. The more Norman fought the effect, the faster it took over. Soon he was out like a light, his legs rooted to the floor while his upper body fell to one side. Snoring loudly, the boy was now in the realm of dreams doing whatever Norman Typekins do while dreaming.

Fear is not the only trigger to Norman’s condition. Any form of overexcitement can cause him to fall asleep, but fear seems to be the primary sedative to the impoverished fourteen year old.

As Norman succumbed to his disorder, he did one thing that had become a habit for him: he grabbed his Pokéball and held it in his hand. When at last his grip loosened, the ball fell to the floor and out sprung his female compatriot.

“Jigglypuff!” Called the Pokémon. Mimi Puff got acquainted with her surroundings, and seeing Norman on the ground, went to his head. Lifting his noggin, she snuck underneath it and let his head lay on her whole body. Her soft form acted as a pillow, and there she lay… at least, until her eyes happened to gaze upon Iris. At once Mimi Puff jumped up and inflated herself to about three times her normal size: an expression of anger also growing in conjunction with the pink body. As she quickly got up from underneath Norman, she neglected to gently put his noggin back down. With a smack, Norman woke up from his nap. Rubbing his eyes, he sighed.

Seeing his Pokémon take on an aggressive stance, he knew at once that she was trying to initiate a stare down.
“Mimi Puff, behave. Return to your Pokéball.” He looked at Iris and the rest of the group. “I’m sorry guys. I will try and do better next time…” He sighed. He hoped he would not be getting in everybody’s way.

Getting back to the situation at and, Norman managed to calm himself to act normally again. Professor Treetop was now gone, and he wanted Iris to find him. Though he was not a Pokemon trainer, Norman knew that most took up the mantle at about his age. Society did not find it that horrible or peculiar to start travelling at a young age; so his parents should have no problem with him leaving to aid Iris in her situation.

“I know it is pressing that you need to find your grandfather, but could you wait for a little bit? I am just going to inform my parents on the situation. I will be back in a bit… that’s ok with you? Right Iris?”

Subject: To Grandfather's House We Go

With the unanimous decision by all party members to head off to Professor ____’s lab, the party of youngsters sallied forth. To some, it was a mere form of killing time, yet to others it was decision based on concern due to lack of information. Along with the ominous pillar of smoke, the four children found themselves within the makings of a grand adventure…

Travelling up the trail ahead of everyone else was Iris and her valiant Pikachu “Fierce”. Due to his hostile personality towards males, the gap between the three boys and the lone female was one of obvious hesitancy.

“I really don’t understand why Fierce is like that…” Norman Typekin sighed to his two male compatriots. “It’s not as if he knows that we are friends of Iris, or that we care for her just as much as he does.” Caving in to his habit, the boy took off his glasses and began to wipe them with his worn out shirt. “Then again, Mimi Puff also seems to show unneeded hostility towards girls. I wonder if such a character trait is common among Pokémon.” Putting his glasses back on, Norman looked into Fierce’ eyes, who was still on Iris’ shoulder. The Pokémon had not let up his stare on the three of them the whole time. Norman was just glad that the Pikachu did not zap the lot of them with a thunder shock.

The cranial juices were now pumping in Norman’s mind. Perhaps this hostility was brought on by an instinct to protect. It has been well established in the scientific world that Pokémon are sentient creatures, some have even have been able to gain the ability of speech. However, it is also speculated that Pokémon have a deeper connection to nature then humans do. Perhaps this behavior that Mimi Puff and Fierce have is something that all gender based Pokémon have… as both Ditto and Voltorb are types without gender.

Presently, such a hypothesis is rather simple and useless because Norman has only been able to take note of four Pokémon. Much more data would be required before anything could be said on the matter. Is the protective trait only found in caught Pokémon; or do wild Pokémon also show such aggressive attitudes? Is it only found in Pokémon of an opposite gender of the master; or does it apply even to same-sex relationships? What about aggravation? Is it caused merely by the sex of those who it angered of? If that is the case, is it only in those of the same gender as the Pokémon subject is? Or can it be based on the master’s sex that determines its overtly protective habits?

Norman was thinking these thoughts and more, when Thrash gave him a less-than-subtle push in the shoulder to awaken him from his concentration. The lab was before them.

I have just recently made a series of rules for my own campaign modual for d20 modern based on the whole "Zombie Survival" simulation.

Alack and alas, I am unable to imagine any unique/outstanding scenarios/environments to use in this campaign of mine.

Anyone got some ideas on place/objectives/twists/etc. that I could use to get my players to ward off the undead menace? Also know this: players will/may also need to fight of living things too such as gangs.

With this information, I say that the four of us (five including Fierce) sally forth to the Proffesors lab. Anyone disagree with said suggestion? If no one else posts, I will alot myself to do so TOMORROW (Friday 3).
If that be the case, I will try not to do arbitrary things/decide for others... making it obscure enough that others may want to post on the subject. Perhaps a wild pokemon will assail us along our commune?

ZOMG!? Do any of us have pokeballs? Potions? etc.

Topic: Pokemon Q&A
Subject: free form

under normal circumstances, a free form relies on everyone to progress the story. however, since there is the presence of a GM, I would presume that Malek04 would be a stronger drive then most in this game genera.

All I am saying is that there is really nothing more for us to go on in the ways of roleplaying at this moment. It feels more like an awkward-turtle situation. We dont know where we are in regards to anything else (besides a pokemart?) and because we have not formally introduced ourselves, we have no clue as to how we should be reacting to each other.

For example: I was considering brining Mimi Puff out to play with Fierce, but now I am not so sure if he would get along with her. I mean, this is free form, but I dont want to arbitrarily decide characteristics/aspects of others. I suppose what Malek04 said about colaberating should be taken seriously... How about you our trusted GM makes a new thread where we can all post our Human and Pokemon Characters (name, aspirations, physical appearance, personality, etc etc etc)

As for progress, unless anyone else has something to say, I am thinking we can all just walk to the research facility that Iris' grandfather is at? I don't know how far away it is or anything like that, so I am not sure of the magnitude of doing such an action. If anything else, some more details may need to be run by before I can make any intelligent decisions.
