Topic: The Day They Woke Up on the Wrong Side of Reality
Subject: Slow my mind, Slow its body

I take a breath i am sapped of my strength. It is obvious that I do not have battle prowess and this creature does. I still my mind, and then in hopes, I reach into the inner realms of my mind to draw upon my philosophies of time.
What is time? A Force in continual progression, marked by periods such as past, present and future.
Is it relative? To an extent, yes. Today is tomorrow's yesterday.
where does time go?
The questions keep popping in my head in the split second I have, and with that I use all the focus I can to pry this power from my head and into the material plane; and to be specific, onto the shambling mound of vegetation before me.

I club at it with my unlit torch, focusing on the element of fire as I do so.

When in doubt, go right. That is one of my little proverbs that I on occasion have to use. This is one of those times.

Subject: Into the forest

I look at my options after a few moments of resting from my horrific encounters. to go back down is to face certain death, and to return to the cemetery from which I came would mean facing the wraith and ghosts: a death wish as well. The only thing left to do is to follow the path through the intimidating forest and hope that SOMEONE is around who is neither undead or aggressive. I pray that I might be able to make it out of this alive and find my way back home.

Subject: cautious exit

With what little sense I have of this situation, I decide that I reflect on the wraith and the ghosts... and come to the idea that these skeletons may very well be animated dead like the specters that I first encountered. I want to find clues as to where I am if, but at the cost of a 4 vs. 1 battle, I decide that I would soon find doom instead of illumination on the situation. With a continual cautionary stare at the skeletons, I move away to the dark hallway ahead and back to the surface above.

Subject: The flame of hope

I grab the torch, hoping that it might do me some good in the god forsaken place. I then stalk up to the skeletons, wondering why they are placed where they are and standing at attention... I do this cautiously, making sure not to get with range of their dangerously pointed finger tips which now resemble more like claws then human hands.

Subject: Shelter in a foreboding environment

Though the temple seems all the more intimidating, I decide that my best bet is to enter the ruins. I hope that inside I may seek shelter from the ghostly figures and perhaps find someone who can direct me to a safe haven.

Subject: What do I do?

I follow the sign's first instructions and choose not to head into the ruins. I am at a lose for options though. I do not wish to enter the woods as they seem sinister all in their own, but I also do not wish to go back to that statue with the specters. I fall on my knees in despair, close my eyes, and pray to God that something good may occur...

Subject: I choose my path

I feel the need to get out of this place, but I dare not go anywhere where I might also get lost. As a path is linear: going only two ways, and is set on the ground, I can use it as a landmark of sorts. I decide to follow it... wherever it leads me too.

Subject: Still panicing

the words reach not the sentient part of my brain. Only the primal instincts of self preservation coarse through my mind. All I want to do is be safe, safe from this nightmare, safe from the undying, safe from it all.
I take off towards the graveyard in hopes of making more progress now that I can see.

Subject: Panic

perhaps it was the fact that inside myself, I am fascinated by the wraith: its style, appearance, and the fact that it had not done anything to harm me. But with the appearance of another specter I go into a panic. I turn tail and flee from the two creatures to the best of my abilities.

Subject: awkwardness

I am not to sure what I should do at the moment. A wraith has confronted me, but instead of attacking it has gone to communicate with me. I think over the question for a moment, also not being able to get around the idea that it could suck the life out of me with a simple touch. I respond with a slight stutter from fear:
"I am lost, confused, and without any memory of my past..." I prepare myself for the worst. And am almost ready to run, I do not wish to join the living dead, nor do I really wish to die at this time either. but of the two options, the latter would be preferable, and hopefully it would come quickly...

Subject: To be continued... tommorow

Seeing that nothing can be done with the materials at hand, Tristan decides that it is time to head on.
"We need to make our way now, If we come across a settlement tomorrow, we will come back and do what we can about that sign." Tristan and the urchin then head off in the direction Tristan had been initially going in.

A couple hours later, Tristan decides it is time to set up camp for the night. He directs the boy to gather fire wood, and then nods off to sleep by a tree. It was going to be a long night, and he knew that he would probably be a little rowdy, but he would be more then ready to protect the boy if anything were to happen. After all, his amazing bottle of infinite booze would see to it that he had the constitution and strength of a bear. And so, Tristan slept, getting ready for the night's blessings of ale.

Tristan puts rubs his chin for a second, then gives a smile to the young lad.
"Sounds good. It would be better to others passing by a better warning in comparison to a simple request on a doormat to keep out."

"Through dedication to ones body and mind. I worked for years toning my fists to do what they do today, and just as much time went into the techniques I use. Dedicating one's whole life to this idea is what gives the results."

Tristan is taken aback by the answer. He sees himself in the boy before him, a child wandering aimlessly with noone to give him a moral code, no compass or direction in the ways of the world or in his own life.
giving a gentle smile, Tristan kneels down and firmly puts his hand on the boys shoulder.
"Would you like to travel with me? I may be a bit rowdy by night, but travelling companions in these dark days would be a smart choice wouldn't you agree?"

Tristan ignores the fact that the boy tried to lie to him, and decides to continue questioning the boy.
"So where are your parents then? To be sure they would not be pleased with this state of affairs."

"I need to know something." States the monk as he looks down at the boy. "Why is it that that house has an explicit warning not to go in, yet you did anyways?" Tristan peers into the boy's eyes, trying to see if he is about to lie.

Subject: Empathy?

Tristan takes another look at the statue, trying to figure out some way to calm the aura of fear it is resonating.
"Fear not" chimes the monk. "Whatever you are, I shall not bring any harm to you so long as you bring no harm to others." Tristan almost feels obligated to stroke it, caressing it gentely and hoping for some kind of effect to settle in.
All the while, tristan walks out the door and onward in the direction of the boy... hoping that he is alright and that he can find him. It was almost night fall and more dangerous beasts lie in wait for the setting of the sun and the rising of the moon...

Tristan takes the statue, looks at it for a few seconds, then decides to store it in his enchanted bag that is held by his hip by a belt that is essentially a rope. He then goes to search the entire house for a few more minutes.

Subject: more victims?

Tristan wonders if there were others in the building besides the boy... and wonders why they would have been in there in the first place. But this is no time for inquisitive thoughts someone needs help, and he will be there to distribute it. Tristan hurries back into the house to see if anyone is in it.
"Hello?" he calls out in the darkness, as he tries to pin-point where the crying is coming from.
