Yes all drow know one another, don't you know.

But I couldn't agree more. It's going to be one tough fight ahead, so keeping the friendly fire incidents to a minimum would be helpful.

Aelistae's actions

Just moving this here, as otherwise the 'out of character' part of my post is huge and bloated.

Aelistae's actions: she is going to use the scroll of alter self she found earlier (quite a bit earlier) to transform herself into an avariel or winged elf. Or rather an avariel-drow hybrid, since she’s not changing her appearance except to give herself wings. She’s also going to take to the wing this round, so that she’s above the hovering drow. In the subsequent round she’s going to charge the Lolthite drow. Rawr!

As far as I can tell, Aelistae will lose her drow racial abilities while transformed, but will gain +4 to racial bonus to Spot, +4 to Jump, a flying speed of 50’ with average maneuverability. She also (I think) gains a dive attack, which means she’ll do double damage with a piercing weapon when she’s charging while flying. Conveniently her elven courtblade is a piercing or slashing weapon.

Hehe...

Drow women can really cuss each other down can't they?

As if it was difficult to figure out- the lack of a crowd of goblinoids to summon in the middle of shall result instead in a quick assault on one of the faces of this square-thing-perimeter that has been crowded around us. Otherwise, I'll conserve the rest of my magic for the death 'n' desstruction that shall follow Bolikar's arrival (or maybe use some of it on our new friend in the sky at some point) I'll throw in a quick post to re-iterate the actions I planned for this round in last post.

Hm

I'll get something in soon enough. Debating tactics.

Man, this would be way easier if Atharam were solo...

Friendly fire

Yes it would be helpful if our friends do not hit their own party members with friendly fire, unfortunately, Bronwyn and Elendil don't know you you are the good guys and to top it off and Aelistae being a drow mght work against her with person not gamiliar wiht her alignment..

This is just an observation, and it is not indicative of any decision for actiona, one way or another.

hmm

Flying drow, assaulting bards, weeping mages and tactically fubared paladins oh my! lol..

I will tell you all now, that with organization, the challange increases, so further combat will be slower (on my part of rolling and deigning specific targets etc etc)

So Teamwork will be key to the possibility of success.

I will draw a rough Graph paper map and scan it in in the morning to possibly help, though I'm sure the decription suffices for now, maps always help with round by round actions.

Drow cussing...

I would hope so. 12,000 years of practice helps.

Oh and Bri, you make a fair enough point. But just bear in mind that Bronwyn has not seen and nor can she see any drow about.

tactically sound?

All the squishies and Linnix are going try to force their way through the goblinoid ranks...

I'm not sure if this is going to be a comedy or a tragedy.

...

Were it not for the appearance for the Lolthite drow, I would have had Aelistae try to cut a way through to you.

It does make sense to try and prevent the group (including Atharam and his company) from being split up into small pockets of resistance. If that did happen it'd be easy for us to be picked off one at a time.

Patron-izing

I'm mostly just worried about Bart. Linnix has tumble checks to avoid the dreaded AoO, Dylan's got his new puppy to take them for him, and I've got DR 3/cold iron so I'll be alright until somebody crits. But with the number of attacks they're making in a round, a crit isn't too far away and I'm afraid it's going to hit Bart. There goes the NPC quest-giver.

What happens if the sponsor bites the dust... can his team still finish the mission and collect in his name?

Well

In the event your patron dies and is unable to be resurrected, you can finish the quest in his name. Some finishing rewards may change but nothing substantial. To story

But it would take any joy out of that victory.

Here's hoping Bart can get through this battle!

Gates

Are the gates still opened a bit or totally closed?

North Gate

The North Gate (the one you can see) is still opened and blocked by part of the other main party..

The East Gate is now closed.
