I have nothing to add, but this thread has been hilarious of late

I wanted to respond that Exlax and Immodium lead to stop and go traffic, but cdnflirt was faster. lol

Pete Black and Paul White were neighbours who didn't get along. They expressed their mutual dislike by pitching crabapples into each other's yards. Enventually, the nicknames stuck.

Why's the pig in a poke, and who put him there?

I just meant that when a thread gets deleted (for the reason Olan mentioned...being inactive) the post counts go down, and so, post counts are largely irrevelant.

I don't mind them but am not necessarily "into" them...but if it's traffic on the site...I'm ok with it.

Dapple instinctively crouched and covered her head when the tower exploded, even as her conscious mind struggled to believe what she saw. Showered with dirt and debris, her grey and black clothing gew mottled with brown dust, making her even harder to see among the rubble. She waited a moment before straightening up and looking around. Nothing remained of the tower but debris and choking dust, dust that sought eyes and throat. Coughing and spitting to clear her throat, Dapple looked up to see Alloryn struggling with some shadow trying to form around her.

“Hang in there, Alloryn, brother’s here somewhere!” Dapple shouted, then began the tedious task of making her way to what had been the south side of the tower, where Arien had gone through the wall. Oddly enough, this was where the most debris lay, as if the tower had been aimed at the knight.

I confess to being a fan of a good pun, and am known for my punning prediliction. What's the point of a decent vocabulary if you can't use it for fun?

No need to apologize: The list was fine, and the list can continue...I just want to declare a "no contest" on the religious debate.

Subject: Hang on folks, play nice

This is a website devoted to fantasy gaming and related topics. When other topics (religion, politics, universal healthcare, death and taxes) get broached, the staff have agreed to allow the conversation as long as it does not get mean spirited or adversarial. This thread is starting to cross that line.

Unfortuantely, religion seems to bring out the stubbornness in everyone, so please let's let the matter drop.

Ordinarily, I'd offer to "ghost" a player until they were able to resume playing, but Jal's just a little too unique for me. I don't think I could get a handle on the character.

BTW, we need posts from Admiral and Raven, gentlemen!

... and we are going through that with one child already (though no 'stache for her either, thank goodness!).

Besides, he's so blond right now, he could have a 'stache and you wouldn't see it. Much like his eyebrows!

Thanks to stupid people doing stupid things and then finding someone they could sue for damages, companies have to add warnings to protect themselves.

I remember a 60 Minutes episode from years ago about a ladder manufacturer who was running out of room on his ladders for all the warnings he had to include after lawsuits. The latest warning was to not use the ladder on a warm manure pile...after a farmer had done just that. The ladder shifted in the soft manure and the guy fell, injuring his back.

I guess I always assumed that fantasy fans also read sci-fi, but perhaps that's just how my circle of friends were. Here's an exerpt from the article link posted:

The visionary author of more than 70 books, who was nominated for a Nobel Prize after predicting the existence of satellites, was most famous for his short story "The Sentinel", which was expanded into the novel that was later adapted for Stanley Kubrick's film "2001: A Space Odyssey".

He was also credited with inventing the concept of communications satellites in 1945, decades before they became a reality.

Clarke was the last surviving member of what was sometimes known as the "Big Three" of science fiction, alongside Robert A. Heinlein and Isaac Asimov.

The astronomer Sir Patrick Moore said that his friend was a “great visionary, brilliant science-fiction writer and great forecaster”.

“He said there would be a man on the Moon by 1970, while I said 1980 — and he was right,” he said.

Dapple shook off the draining languor that healing potions caused in her. The potion may be magic, but it forced the body to heal, and the energy to do so had to come from somewhere. At the same time, too many things were happening at once, and the normally quick-witted thief felt like she was taking one too many blows to the head.

Arien gone. Through a now collapsed wall. Char talking about invisible mages. Adrian suddenly gesturing like he is casting, Jal also. Jal telling them to get out of the room. Char barking an order to go through the window. Kilgim reaching for her…Dapple danced out of the dwarf’s reach, cloak swirling around her. “No need, old friend,” she muttered in dwarven, “I’m fine.”

Sunset! When had she last seen the little dragonet? Was the beast hiding in the room? “Sunset! Get out if you are here, little one!” Dapple called as she ran toward the window in the western wall. Just before she reached the window, she dove, sailing through the opening as straight and true as a javelin. Chin down on her chest, she tucked into a roll as soon as her hands touched the ground, the rolling motion dispelling the force of her impact. She pauses to see if Kilgim manages the window before taking off after Char.
