Whoever this woman was, she was trained in a similar fashion as Willow, to read and perceive people. Birgit was planning to turn on the charm to the captain but realize something in his cold stare and decided to change tactics.
I'd say she has an agenda that's not been uncovered yet and it's not to just marry the local bigwig.

The reactions to the device and her plans were fine and in character - I wanted to make sure that you knew there was two ways of looking at it. In "Our Miss Reynolds" Wash and Kaylee admired Brigette's handiwork but the Capt is not impressed.

I have to give Cathy time to post but the absence of Sam is really dragging me down.

This is the time of the year for my workplace's big conference. I would like to believe I will have free time but in truth, I will be knee deep in work until Feb 5th. I will try to post if I can but expect me to be out until then.

I should probably be focusing on finding work anyway.
