*sidelong glance*

yes, I do hope you can update Hammer...
I've too characters I'd love to get back to...

*sidelong glance in another direction*
...and the Smuggler's Moon has been dry-docked for quite some time...

Perhaps I'll have to dig through my own books,
I believe I have Etherscope and the Wheel of Time games around here somewhere... though perhaps a Star Wars game is more deserving of a draft...

Edit: Although I must admit I have three weeks of exams coming up

Steam was happily enjoying his Loyal Reward as he admired the splendor of the Red cafeteria. The promotion was an honor, a chance to further the ideals of the computer, and Steam was proud to be given such a chance.

However there was a conflict disrupting the joy that the computer had granted him and his newly appointed companions; Dweebs. Dweebs was currently acting out of order; he was going against the regimentation and order that made life as a citizen so great by having 'left' his mission group and attempting to join Steam's. Such actions were disruptive and inefficient, and Steam's finger longed to activated his megaphone and order Dweebs to adhere to the rules; but Dweebs was also a Red, not an infrared and such actions would in of themselves be disruptive. Happily though, it seemed Steam's companion Slipp was more than happy to chew out the rule-breaker while Steam contemplated the matter.

"Hey, troubleshooters! Yes, you, Team MAO-17859 Dot R-2! Down here! Yes, down here, under the table! Now!"

A smile crossed Steam's face; there was a mission to be done. However the matter of hand still needed to be resolved. Turning to Dweebs, Steam cut off any rebuttal the man was about to formulate with stern words. "You are out of order; return to you mission group at once."

Steam keeps a close eye on the actions of both Slipp and Dweebs, sharing his companion's sentiment; if the matter is not now resolved protocol is clear. The rule-breaker's fate would be deserved. He then looks under the table, after all, duty calls.

In no way am/was I implying that anyones actions were a bad idea, simply settling into character. Revlan is very carefree and impulsive. He can be serious, when he has too, but so far as he can tell there is nothing to worry about.

And again, Vord (the first one to descend down the stairwell) is huge; a whopping 3ft taller than Revlan. As far as the little guy is concerned, Vord will scare/has scared the daylights outta people.

Luckily he's on our side,

EDIT: Also note the potential foreshadowing in my final statement; In the future Revlan may see the thought become a reality and learn from the caution of the others... ahaha

Topic: Once in a Lifetime
Subject: Revlan, and the wolves... Part I

Revlan had tracked down their marks to the cellar with little to no effort. Or so he assumed; especially with the odd moving of a crate at the far wall, and the hand that left with it. If that wasn't one of the suspicious Sigies they'd been watching before the.... incident.... upstairs, than Revlan wasn't sure he'd want to know what was going on behind the crate, especially given some of the... acts... that could occur in such an unusual local.

But given he did not hear the tell-tale giggle or sighs of lover's trying not to be exposed, as he'd stumbled upon one too many cousins in the past, Revlan figured it wouldn't hurt to check.

Vord had tailed him from their table, and Revlan began a sidelong glance to confirm the man had also witnessed the hand just to be reminded of the horrendous height difference between the two. Frustrated, he let out a brief sigh before beginning to stride forward, after all Vord was huge; who'd mess with that guy?

But as he advanced Revlan clued into the presence of the wolf as it growled and froze in his tracks; the hustle and bustle upstairs had afforded him no time to register a wolf indoors.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The night was warm as Revlan skulked the woods in search of his prize, a fine piece of redwood. It would make for the most splendid carving, one that would surely impress Lana, the light of his world. The only problem was he'd spent so much time trying to find the tree during the day that he'd forgotten to bring his axe.

Not wanting to double-back across half the ham to retrieve his, Revlan borrowed his cousin Marlin's and sauntered off into the forest, content to go about his business.

However, the young Shadelin hadn't really considered the difficulty in retracing his steps in the evening light, and managed to get himself, unwittingly, lost.

Despite this Revlan marched ever forward, in search of the means to make his beloved a gift. He simply needed to secure the wood and give it to Marlin, upon doing which the two of them would laugh and drink as his cousin whittled the piece down into the shape of Lana's favourite flower with a true craftsman's expertise. Revlan was surely lucky to have such a dear friend to help him so.

As he moved towards his destination, Revlan began to hear rustling around him, accompanied by low growls. Trying not to pay it any mind the Cidal moved on, slinging the axe over his shoulder, just in case. Passing into a clearing that he couldn't recall, Revlan realized his error and turned to find two wolves exiting the bushes before him, and could hear a third to his left; it seemed he was in trouble now.

Wishing to Sheilin for protection, Revlan gripped the axe tight as hungry eyes watched his every movement.... As the first one leaped, Revlan swung...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Conversation and movement snapped Revlan back out of his memory, and he shook his head to clear his thoughts. Gee, now they'll talk. Hmmph....

The Cidal looked about the room and accessed the action of the others, feeling a tad confused.

"I could use some help with theses crates."

Revlan merely shrugged "Aye, I'm coming."

He thought that his companions were being a bit too cautious as he crossed the cellar to the crates and began to push. It wasn't like a horrible monster was gonna leap out and eat them.

Topic: The Leather Coats Avengers
Subject: TORAAD, Of Debts Owed

The concussive force of two arcane orbs had buffeted Toraad's right side, but he'd held his ground. However, he'd only absorbed half the assault.

In dismay he watched two additional orbs trace around his left side, and heard the hissing burn of them impacting his companion. There had been no chance for Toraad to move to intercept them, and he doubted he'd have been fast enough, not restricted in his armour as he was. Hastily he moved to further defend Rextugenous.

But there would be no further assault. Toraad watched as the elf charged towards the Hobgoblin, but Danamar's efforts were to no avail. As if to add insult to injury, and in a act that truly diminished the Dwarven Cleric's warrior spirit, the Hobgoblin began to fly, and left the battlefield.

Twice in one journey he had failed to follow Steel's teachings to the letter, and it darkened his mood. He had been able to justify escaping the kobolds in his mind; made peace with the fact that no champion of Steel would charge unprepared into a horde that size. But this instance was different. His enemy, proven by both act and word to be a villainous creature had escaped Steel's judgment; had escaped Toraad's grasp.

And it ate away at him.

In an effort to make up for his failed defense of his companion, Toraad quickly accessed Rex's injuries and called upon his deity's power to heal the wounds. This was despite any and all protest or reassurances made by the bard.

The journey to town had been uneventful, a time Toraad spent in reflection, recounting his conduct and weighing his mistakes.

After meeting with the Fortunato brothers and learning of the absence of the halflings, ambushed at the hands of goblin scum, Toraad added yet another mistake to his list.

It had been he who had leaped forth and led his companions to engage the Hobgoblin, and as such he held himself responsible for the events that occurred in their absence.

Solemnly, Toraad awaited the others to decide their course, for he would act with them. But despite their decisions he knew he could not accept any amendment to his pay; he had failed his duty and felt no entitlement.

Indeed the Dwarven Cleric took the moment to silently pray amid his thoughts of failure; Toraad prayed the halfings hadn't paid for his mistake with their lives.

Revlan is, as Hammer displayed, impulsive.... s

So he'll likely move towards the box, though I have a few reactions (thoughts; not like a freak-out panic-attack thing) to the fact there is a wolf in the room behind him... Will update this weekend

Music is vital.

I'm happily a metal-head, though I dabble with other sounds.

Growing up in a musical household helped with that; I was a band geek too...

anyway... check out Avantasia and Ayreon

I'm currently re-listening to my collection of their albums...

...mostly I don't want to rant about the various bands and their styles, aha... so I'll leave it there

Topic: Self-Defense For Nerds: How Do You Do It?
Subject: interesting....

I'm generally passive...

but, back to that part about reactions...

from my experience, bullies aren't too keen when they fail to get one... and I happen to not flinch in practically all occasions where I am aware of my environment(ergo awake; and in a semi-light area. sounds not too important, I've selective hearing and can adjust my focus through headphones).

otherwise I'm roughly 5'10" and built like a twig.
luckily I have a fairly high pain tolerance
...but more importantly, I know how to fence

while most see that as a disadvantage in cases where there is no weapon, it is not; what I obtained from fencing is a keener balance, discipline, and the insight to know how to predict motions to dodge out of the way.

If confrontation cannot be avoided, than it is key to be able to move out of harms way; let them tire themselves out.

In your typical encounter the aggressive person may become frustrated by missing, and frustration leads further to sloppy mistakes. Keeping a level head is ideal, it allows you to 'calculate' events and make predictions.

no system is 'perfect' but, ultimately, the idea is to avoid fighting altogether

....Just figured I'd pipe in since this caught my eye.

Ahem.

Step one: heal Rex.

However, amidst the shame at his inability a) to prevent the escape of their foe (clerical dogma) and b) to protect his comrade, Toraad may appear to be brooding when I get the post up.

But, nonetheless, he will be willing to pursue the missing caravan members.

that I posted earlier.

Way I see it, channeling enough divine energy to disperse 8 undead is a hefty feat, one which takes a few moments to recover from. Moments we dont have.

So I went with what I thought was a logical course of action. Endure the results of the spell before attempting to surge forth and attack.

Hopefully this is alright.

Perhaps Danamar is better situated to hinder the shaman, by steel or spell.
