Edit: scratch that - went back to page 1.

Also Loki, you would have just cursed our recruitment. Not necessarily the game

I was about to ask for one of those
A character sheet shell please Jozan, if you would be so kind

Edit: You'd care when the terrible events start to plague us all Loki; you'd care
Edit2: Thank you Loki! Just realized that too
Edit 3: Now that I look at it, I think I'll save the druid for another time; A Swashbuckler leaping off walls is sounding more and more fun.

Jozan? Complete Scoundrel is okay right? I'd be burning my skill points for maneuvers.

Topic: "Forgotten Realms: Edge of Darkness" Recruitment!
Subject: Ideas abound

A druid whom after the siege of Myratma, cannot stand idly by in the forest after witnessing the events of Red River Field. S/he seeks to try to help stabilize the land before returning to the forest, despite the consequences. Rather than an animal companion, an elemental (from Complete Mage - it also removes wild empathy) for unique purposes.

Working with the concept of the Swashbuckler (Ayrn described a good one), invest skillpoints in skill tricks to form an acrobatic scoundrel (Complete Scoundrel)

An Elven Warmage, a remnant of an infiltration squad, seeking something to put his skills with destructive magic to work.

(otherwise Ayrn hit up most of the jump out at you ideas... )

From what I've gathered from previous projects the transition from 2e to 3e in terms geographically corresponding events in time (and in particular characters traveling from one location to another)holds up fairly well.

Thanks for the resource Loki, I'd forgotten I had it.It is among my incomplete collection of ~99ish 2e Forgotten Realms books I dug up for research and such.

Ayrn, thank you for your suggestions.

And it is not that I feel obligated to fill a gap, it is just that the phrases "why dont we have a tank" and "who's bright idea was it to not have a healer" come to mind.

will post character concepts momentarily... reading an article

Topic: "Forgotten Realms: Edge of Darkness" Recruitment!
Subject: I'll see what I can do.

Looking at it this way:
-I've a light pt job so that wont conflict
-I'm on here multiple times in the run of the day
-Even when I return to university in the fall I'll probably be on regularly...
-I have a weak spot for Forgotten Realms...

I'll look into forming up an interesting character; I've had a few ideas already (the complete series helps with that)...
Trouble is deciding...

Any particular role you'd like filled? (this question is open to all)

Subject: Trusting the odds.

The Half-Elf moved across the dockyard at a reasonable speed. In particular he slowed himself as he neared his mark, not wishing to draw adverse attention to himself; The Sea-Angel had come into view. Quickly he ensured all of his equipment was aligned properly, weapon and shield easily available but secured appropriately.

Well, no reason to draw more eyes than I have already he mused to himself, shifting his pace to something more dignified.

As he neared the ship he could just make out the forms of two figures upon its deck, one significantly larger than the other, though their exact visages were shadowed by the sun at their backs. Continuing towards the ship the Half-Elf couldn't help but feel very amused, especially as the smaller figure reached a hand towards its own face, head shaking back and forth as it approached the the gangplank.

Well, well, it seems the world works in my 'favor' this time. Based upon such a reaction, it would seem that my small 'friend' has arrived ahead of me. he thought Not unexpected, given his speed, but the time for games has ended for now.

He was beginning to become far to used to things going astray, just to take him exactly where he was meant to go. Though it was not unusual in his 'line of work' it could be tiresome, sometimes seeming more a test of patience than a diversion.

Waving an arm in greeting he called to the figure, stopping as he reached the gangplank:

"Hail friend!" Keeping his tone steady- and without a fluster of frustration over the Gnome's actions- he continued "I believe we have business to discuss. I ask your permission to board, so we may speak more comfortably"

Well. During the initial buy-in stage you still have clothes.
Last paragraph of the opening page for equipment (111 PH):

"Assume your character owns at least one outfit of normal
clothes. Pick any one of the following clothing outfits for free:
artisan’s outfit, entertainer’s outfit, explorer’s outfit, monk’s
outfit, peasant’s outfit, scholar’s outfit, or traveler’s outfit.
(See Clothing, page 131.)"

Edit note: Maybe I should draft up a character anyway, it seems I'm floating around here enough

Topic: Demon Wind
Subject: Early Riser

Something in their surroundings was amiss, and Irael had no love for it. After Elessarae's departure there was a distinct emptiness that defeated even his devotion to his training, disregarding his evening somatic practices to retire early.

Even with the extension to his rest it did not come easy. Darkness plagued his mind, twisting and contorting in sickening agony. Visions flashed of people he did not know, or may have known.... so much was lost to him. Death screams echoed, and he hoped this to be just a series of nightmares and not the return of his memories.

Nevertheless he arose earlier than the others, meaning to work off this feeling of loss and guilt with sword maneuvers and footwork in the stable-yard. Instead he found himself troubled by a sinking feeling that all was not well in the inn.

Perhaps it was just a feeling, but he was not about to take any chances. Donning his equipment Irael entered the hall, positioning himself to keep a close eye on the rooms of his companions. He felt to investigate on his own and leave them unguarded was a foolhardy course of action.

Silently and diligently he waited.

As the Half-Elf continued his chase he could not help but grin. The sense of urgency began to fade as he realized that perhaps someone was playing a trick upon it, and he did not believe it to be the gnome.

"Interesting that a thief, and a smaller individual at that, would leave the comfort of the crowds- where he could hide himself- for the openness of the dockyard." he thought, chuckling to himself. "Either he has himself a small hideout, or circumstance is on my side."

Beginning to believe it was the latter he carried on, perhaps he could use this to his advantage.

Subject: To Give Chase...

The Half-Elf shifted his pace in an attempt to follow the gnome, drawing many curious - or perhaps concerned- stares at his sudden change in behavior. Losing one's pouch was highly unprofessional, especially when one had the culprit at hand.

"When it is not one thing, it is another" he thought, more with amusement than frustration. "But then, there is a reason for it all... A gnome... not one for running; best look out for the trick."

Coming into the alley, he kept a keen eye ready for the faintest movement. Perhaps the gnome knew the streets better than himself, or perhaps just their hiding places. It was going to be one of those days, and there was still a job to be done.

I thank you for your consideration. I'll do my best.

And I'll agree with Ody here. I read over the game thus far and it seems as though both these characters were in the background. Plenty of room to grow .

I'll double check my spell lists for something that seems appropriate and let you know, especially since I've got Arcane Channeling to play with.

My only question pertains to his spell list. Do you have one handy, or shall I consult mine?

Pardon me m'lady, caught up in another bardic song you see...

Welcome to he inn, I can assure you that everyone is more than happy to have you here. Having wandered in recently myself I can safely say they are fun and helpful bunch. Oh, and do have this *hands you a wine list*, fine selection there but do give that back to Celtia when you get to know them... got a tad distracted you see.

Explore the site and I'm sure you'll find both informative articles and fun activities. Plus we're all ready to answer any questions.

.... but uh... and I'm surprised no one mentioned this considering all the warnings I got... do beware of the Grugg. I think you'll be okay for the first few days though.

Ah, but look at me ramble on. Come, enjoy the music, have a round and settle yourself in.
